    Hey Spencer!
    Great videos!
    When working with a factory (in China or US) should I have a patent prior to working with the factory? Do factories in China ever steel ideas and just start manufacturing your product for resale by others?
    I’d love to speak with you one on one.
    Thanks again for posting these videos. They are extraordinary!
    Best to you and yours!

    How are you doing, man? Thank you so very much for your video. Very interesting and a lot information. I do construction work and recently I been in contact with few companies in China, but I never been in China or I never purchased this way before. Is there any information i need to know about these, what I’m trying to purchase in China is a full container of Quartz Slabs in. Is there something I need to be aware? Let me know if you have any concerns or any information about these. I’m going to appreciate it in my entire life. Thank you very much, Mr.

    Hi the video was great and helpful, in method #1 you mentioned that you would usually look for manufacturers who have been in the works for a longtime but as search through made-in-china all of them have been established since 2020 and later. Additionally, most factories have already been labelled trustworthy in some sort of way, should I still remain skeptical about a few and how could I determine if there are trustworthy or not? Any advice you could provide on those issues?

    Hi Spencer, when working with a factory in China or through an agent, are there any standard agreements or contracts that you think are necessary? This is aside from an patents or legal protection being pursued in the country I wish to sell in. Thanks!

    • @SpencerJan
      @SpencerJan  Před 2 lety +2

      It's really up to you prepare any agreements you want signed. For small businesses, it'll be hard to have most suppliers agree to anything in writing (beggars can't be choosers). But should you try? Probably. It's a fine balance to try to create a trusting relationship vs one that is controlled by documents and contracts. In the end, if contracts are broken or agreements not followed, how much recourse do you really have when they're in China and you're in another country? I think simple agreements like tooling agreements (who owns the tooling), exclusivity agreements and non-compete agreements might make sense to use as conversation starters on expectations. I hope that helps.

    I'm not really sure where to find those trade shows in the US. I'm in Washington DC, and most conventions here are more about comic books and such. It doesn't seem like we have the trade shows you mentioned, where they showcase samples and give a glimpse into warehouse operations. I'm actually trying to explore safety gear for engineering and outdoor work as a side gig but idk.

    I have one question, do you think looking at transaction history of the manufacturer is a good way to see if the quality is good? More transactions = customers like it and buy it?

      It depends on what market you're in. What products are you looking to find or make? Most trade shows are industry specific. Tell me what you're looking for and I'll give you an example.

      That’s something most entrepreneurs go through. Be sure to watch my other video on “what to sell” and think through the areas I list out in that video. Also remember that where you start isn’t necessarily where you end. Your business will change but the most important thing you can do is to just start!
