Check the box behind the rear bumper where the wires go into (not sure what it's called). If the car is jacked up you should see it behind one of the arches, drivers side from what I remember. I had a problem with my MK5 GTI - no current going to my rear number plate lights.

Looking good man, got a Mk5 R32 myself. Took forever to find the aluminium front grill, set me back £700 to import it. The silver ABS ones I find, look a bit tacky but the black one you have nicely matches the alloys.
Omanyts in gloss black.. Hell to the no no, deffo look better in the oem silver with diamond cut edge but each to there own. Looking forward to the 997 content 👌.

Interior looks much better👌. Alloys look nice but agree with some others originals in gloss black powder coat all the way. Also tints would finish the job nicely.
My dad has been a tech a VW for 25 years, we did the headliner swap on my 8V and I kid you not. It took 40 minutes. If you know we’re everything is, it’s easy. “Note I don’t have a sunroof though”
Subscribed for the R32! I also don't like light color headliner. A black headliner should be standard in all cars cause it looks so much more relaxing and comfy.
Cant believe how much better that headliner looks, somehow adds a bit of extra class. Personally I think I might have gone with the lighter handles so the light fitting section didn't stand out so much but your car your call. Keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep watching :)

You can remove the sunroof cover by taking the glass off the sunroof and then sliding it forward. It has one screw on each slider and then you can just slide the cover off. Really easy

Those number plate lights are tricky, i had the exact same issue.. the right hand side light connectors didn't line up correctly you need to play about with it to that it sits right
If the airco is full of gas and the aircocompressor is oke. Then you should check the cable connected to the airco compressor. That was my problem with my mk5
The ONE R32 in my area has the chrome/silver grille which Ive seen on the Jetta 2.0 FSI Turbo. Looks fine to me, but now that you've put the gloss black on, it looks much classier.
Just swap all the light bits out. Just makes it look like you cheaped out on it. Mine has full black headliner and it’s lovely., but I have no sunroof as they just leak!
Oh man the zolder wheels are so much nicer than the omanyt‘s! Just personal preference because I love a wheel with more spokes. A pig to clean but look the part when clean for sure!

You need to paint the rear valance Gloss Black or gat a carbon version ,also maybe get the car rapped ,red is the worst colour also put the old 18'' on the Edition 30 GTI
Mate: I took my MKV r32 with sunroof to the headliner guy (in Sydney). 4 hours. AUD600. drive away. no fucking around with parts, headaches, tools, this n that, just drive away. Sometimes folks it's just better to take it to a pro to fix, and more often than not the price beats the headache of doing it yourself
Bro you can try removing the number plate light, switching it the other way round and putting it back, LEDs are just like that, if that don’t fix it you’re right must be a wiring issue
Oh yeah if you ever need a replacement vw badge for the mk5 R32 grille its the same as the one on the front of a vw phaeton,same part number and much cheaper to buy 2nd hand.

My BMW 123d has the black headliner as well and I have to say it just looks so amazing especially when driving another car with standard liner its like using dark mode on the phones hahaha

Another small upgrade is to change that red triangle button for hazard lights in a black one. You will find them on Ebay or Amazon

Great job 👍 I'd have changed the sunroof panel to black and painted or got a replacement for your light/sunglasses holder in black.
Just put a spacer kit on my R32, 10mm on the front and 15mm on the rear and its changed the appearance massively .

Head liners hard to fit back in I done it on mk5 gti with sunroof and all screw that bolt in moved it wos hard had to leave some out
