    I’m still watching...
But I’ve been following Brooke Goldner’s autoimmune protocol and it’s pretty amazing. I guess it’s more of a balanced approach to to raw foods like you were saying. It’s got more than 10% fat, but all the overt fats are from omega 3 sources or avocados if you choose to eat those.
1.5 lbs to 2 lbs or more of dark leafy greens or cruciferous vegetables
MINIMUM 1/2 CUP CHIA OR FLAX SEED
    MINIMUM ONE GALLON OF WATER
Maximum 3 cups per day of fruit (or about 25% fruit and 75% vegetables by volume). You can also have avocados - as much as you want as long as you get your minimum amount of greens in.
I feel way more satisfied on this raw diet than on any other. Intellectually speaking, the fruit/ greens diet (801010 or natural hygiene style) makes sense to me. But it was hard to stick to and I could never get all those greens in because they didn’t taste good unless you added fat or juiced them (like you’re doing. And juicing greens was not really allowed on 801010). So we’ll see how it goes, but she heals people’s autoimmune diseases this way and I have zero cravings because I’m getting the nutrients I need and satiety from the fat.

@@BintGumby: the best you can is often not good enough in our society full of modern cultivars which are mineral deficient and high in sucrose, as well as most fruit being picked acidic and unripe. Organic or not is rarely the matter, the problem is finding fruit which is ripe and fresh, mineral-dense (will generally have stronger color, aroma, and taste), as well as all its sucrose having been reduced to glucose and fructose in the ripening process (the primary cariogenic bacterium of the human mouth, S. mutans, only uses sucrose to create the sticky biofilm which turns into plaque over time; it can metabolize fructose and glucose too, but only lactic acid will be produced, which can easily be neutralized by saliva and the alkalinity properly ripe and mineral-rich fruits bring).

I am so confused about the protein on chronometer. If I had to guess how much protein was in the 3 jars, I would think not more than 50. Natto by itself can have 10 g of protein for one ounce. In one microgreen video, I saw him add nutritional yeast, so that can add 8 g protein for 15g yeast. But where is the protein coming from with just cucumber celery, romaine and carrot? One quart of carrot juice has 8 grams of protein. John, do you ever consume plant protein powder? One scoop is 20g protein, like Nutiva hemp 15g.

depends where you live and where you shop. The organic berries cost me $1 a package at the dollar store, so thats like $3 a pound, if they are out, costco or sams has organic berries, and can average $5-$7 a pound. Otherwise get frozen berries, at Trader Joes, $2.49/lb for wild blueberries. My roots generally average 60 cents a pound for carrots, $1 a pound for beets, and got org jicima for $1.39 a pound, although normally get non organic and its 50 cents a pound. org or hothouse Cucumbers can cost from 50 cents each to $1 each and my org celery is about $1.50 for 1.75- 2 pounds (generally) . I personally think for how I eat, I eat really "cheap" but for some without the means to buy wholesale, and/or get extreme prices (that is a whole nuther video) that being said, it would cost less to eat more beans and rice and less veggies, but if done right, you can maximize your phytonutrients at low cost. I would say I eat for around $20 a day more or less, (depends on the day) and what Im eating. You gotta spend your money somewhere. I choose to spend it on the most important thing I have, my health. As a comparison, eating out a nice dinner may cost someone easily $20 for one meal. All my meals are homemade.

Im not eating ANY Vitamin A. How can I over do it?
Beta-carotene is a type of substance called a carotenoid. Carotenoids give plants such as carrots, sweet potatoes, and apricots t heir reddish-violet colors. Beta-carotene is a provitamin. This means it's used by your body to make vitamin A. It's only found in plants. Vitamin A is also found in foods from animals. Vitamin A from animal sources is called preformed. This means it is in a form your body can use directly. It's found in dairy products, fish oils, eggs, and meat (especially liver). The vitamin A your body makes from beta-carotene doesn’t build up in your body to toxic levels. But vitamin A from animal sources can. Vitamin A is available in multivitamins and as a stand-alone supplement. Vitamin A supplements can contain only beta-carotene, only preformed vitamin A, or a combination of both types of vitamin A. If your body doesn't use all the beta-carotene you eat to make vitamin A, the beta-carotene that remains circulates in your body. Beta-carotene is also an antioxidant. It helps keep cells healthy.

      @@growingyourgreens @Agni Das
Most people are very inefficient at converting beta-carotenes into retinol (animal form of vitamin A, that our body uses). Some people can't at all. Not to mention, the bioavailability of beta-carotenes can be super low. Meaning that regardless of the amount of carotenes in the food, it is impossible for the body to absorb quite a lot of that. So a low bioavailability + a low convertability = barely any retinol if any at all. I'm more concerned he is MISSING vitamin A. The carotenes that keep circulating are very taxing and actually toxic for the liver and the kidneys. Over time they can get very damaged from continuous overdose of carotenoids. And another thing, you can't actually overdose on retinol. That myth only came to be because of a case study of a handful of inuit that ate a polar bear liver and got sick. But it was found later that it was not the vitamin A, but a heavy metal toxicity from the liver as the polar bear ate some toxic trash from a ship most likely. To this day, there is no proof that naturally occurring retinol (not lab-made retinol-like substances!) causes any kind of overload / toxicity.

You say vegetables are a nutritional powerhouse but what about foods like salmon roe or grass fed beef liver? Now those are true nutritional powerhouses!

  • @anjolesaydworthethecrafty

I think this is great, if and when you can afford the amount of vegetables it requires to make these juices, however, on the other hand, I ponder this:
If I were to think back to a time pre-discovery of fire, a time before we had all of our fancy technology and tools, a time when we had only our hands and teeth to consume a meal, what would we have eaten and how much of it? I'm kind of guessing here but this would have also been a time when mankind lived closer to the equator and experienced a better climate. So, since there was no technology, no fire to cook with or keep warm by, I'm assuming the climate was warm all the time without the threat of freezing. On that note, there would have been no means of keeping foods refrigerated to preserve them and quite possibly, no means of digging up salt to ferment foods with even?
So, I think it is safe to say we would have consumed a lot of fruits to give us energy, given the fact that vegetables are quite low in calories. Also we may have taken in some veggies and leafy greens for the minerals and sodium contents to balance things out. Sort of like eating fruit for fuel and veggies for vitamins and minerals.
In order to get enough calories from greens and vegetables, the people of that era would have had to eat all day long to consume the volume of food it takes to provide 400 calories in that jar of juice. That's a lot of chewing. I honestly don't think we are meant to be juicing our foods unless we do so with our teeth. Our bodies are designed with a shut off mechanism that tells us when it has received enough nutrition. When we juice, albeit it is great for those in dire need of a digestive reboot and healing, it sends all the wrong signals in my opinion because many people just drink the juice and don't "chew" it. Chewing is required to activate the amylase enzymes to begin breaking the food down for digestion. Digestion starts in our mouths. Not everyone knows this or understands it.
All in all, this is a great video and very informative. Thank you for sharing!

    • @growingyourgreens
      @growingyourgreens Před 3 lety +1

While I do Agree, that I would eat much different living near the tropics and without electricity/appliances before fire, I personally dont think that would provide our IDEAL nutrition needs for a healthy life, as depending on the plants/trees available, it would be a very "limited" diet. Surely humans are adaptable. Some peoples live on meats, some on fast food, and many people do "ok". Im looking to provide my body with all the essential nutrients (known and unknown) for the best health/longevity. But everyone is free to eat as they see fit. The world is not a pre-fire world anymore. There are even MORE toxins in the environment now, than ever before. This can cause excess stress on the body, which the body uses more phytonutrients because of this.

John all well, you must remember not all of us live in a tropical or semi tropical climate. Our growing seasons are different in different parts of the US/ World . Yes I love to eat like yiu, go in my Garden and pick....nit reality unfortunately. Whe have cold Winters, hot summers where the stuff latterly burns because 8000ft - 90000 ftabove sea-level is like beeing under a broiler and dry climate as well. The store organics are so so expensive 😫 now it will be more because transport gas gone up. Besides eating raw when it is cold is not the best. A hot rice veggie soup with corn tortilla is yummy, potato soap. Bought a Jackfruit last summer cost $42.00. You need to get a bit more realistic with the rest off us. What is a person's food bill an the diet? It's different from the North to the west south and east.
1 head of organic red leave @Kingd Soper hear is $2.49 I can eat that smal head myself.
They trim it down so much to fit in the space they allow, that was the answere I got. It is ridiculous expensive. I been plantbad for 7 years now and loke it. My health is great no meds @ 65 and hubby @ 72. We do not look our age. Have a blessed day.

@Truman Burbank I agree, Asians, in general, do tend to age very well. However, diet does play a part in aging well.

the body can only absorb what it needs, you spend alot of time on what you eat for no reason imo, i imagine if its in juice form it goes through you so fast you arent getting a whole lot from it, i could be wrong, but i know people who dont eat any vegetables or fruit who love there life, the ignorance is bliss effect, i feel like i care too much about what i eat for what my brain can handle and it consumes my life but you take it to a whole new level, are you ok? cause im kinda stressed personally worrying about food

I’m a raw foodist far different than what you recommend. My diet is primarily the same every day. I believe humans are not herbivores and not able to digest the amount of plant matter you suggest. Humans don’t have multiple stomachs like true herbivores. Most of it passes through you undigested and not used by your body. This is why so many vegans and raw foodists look so gaunt and unhealthy. Juicing fruits and veggies is not natural. Our ancestors never juiced fruits or veggies. This is a recent fad which was introduced with the invention of the juicer.
Another issue with this diet is you have to supplement to make up for nutrients you’re not getting. Taking supplements and vitamins is not natural. There are two main reason why you have to take supplement. Either your diet is lacking or your GI tract is compromised. In most cases with vegans it’s a Combination of both. Eating raw plant matter irritates the gut lining .
My diet consists of raw milk kefir which is one of the healthiest foods you can consume. I also consume raw milk and cheese. I occasional eat raw meat including liver. I don’t eat any veggies and the only Fruit I eat are some wild berries. I don’t eat any nuts or seeds and don’t consume any industrial seed oils either. I don’t consume any processed or fat foods most others do. All of my food I consume comes from a local farm. I don’t take any supplements or vitamins. No protein shakes or anything else. No b12 or vit d either. Everything I need is in the food I eat. I have never been sick in nearly 40 years.

@Purple Carrot Depending on my activity level I general eat 2-3 times each day. My meals are always the same. First meal is a liter or raw milk kefir with about 1-2 cups of wild blueberries. I buy the raw milk and make the kefir at home. Kefir is medicine for humans. You will not find a more powerful beneficial food on the planet. It can heal any digestive ailment. It has the ability to colonize bacteria in your gut promoting a very healthy GI system. If you have any kind of GI discomfort like IBS, Chrons, heartburn or anything related to your gut it can cure it. It’s a wonder food unlike any other. If you have allergies of any kind including food it means your gut is compromised. Most ailments in the body can be traced to your gut. If you ever want to truly heal yourself it starts with your gut.
My second meal consists of a liter of raw milk and my last meal varies a bit. I sometimes have raw meat.not a lot. I’m not real fond of animal flesh but it’s extremely healthy and easy to digest when in the raw state. Organ meat especially is probably the healthiest animal protein you can eat. I like fish but don’t eat it very often since the waters have become so polluted. I also eat raw cheese like Gouda and raw yogurt all sourced from the same local family farm who treats and cares for their animals properly. I sometimes eat eggs also generally 5-6 at a time but only the yolks since this is where most of the nutrition is. I do not buy commercial produce found in the local grocery store expect for wild berries.
I do not eat any grains nuts seeds beans veggies fruit except for wild berries or any kind of oil since these foods are highly inflammatory and cause a lot of GI distress. I only eat wild berries since they’re native to North America and Canada and haven’t been hybridized like all other fruits. Another issue is the blood sugar spikes when eating these foods. Many vegans are sugar addicts like the person in this video. They need to eat constantly throughout the day to maintain their sugar level. My blood sugar level is the same morning noon and night. It’s stays between 75-85 all day long.
I also eat only when I’m hungry and not by the clock. Sometimes my body only wants to fed once per day and other times 3 meals per day so it really depends from day to day. Generally when I only eat once per day it will consist of 6-8 ounces of raw meat, 8-10 ounces of raw cheese and maybe some raw yogurt. All of this food is very soothing and healing to the gut lining. I generally have a bowel movement 2 times per week. I don’t think it’s very healthy going more than once per 48 hours since that tells me your body is not utilizing what you’re eating it’s going right through you. Most vegans have bowel movements 2-3-4 times a day v/c they eat so much fiber which can not be digested by humans. That is extremely unhealthy and tells you whatever they’re eating is not being absorbed. Most people think eating loads of fiber is healthy but it isn’t. A little bit is all you need to feed the microbial in your gut.

Im glad you found something that is working for you. I personally would rather make fresh juice from vegetables and fruits vs drink milk from Animals other than human creatures (which IMO is not natural). I do drink coconut kefir and coconut yogurt and many other fermented foods. There is new emerging research that shows that the wider varieties of fiber containing foods you have, the greater diversity in your microbiome, that can improve your digestion, that IMO is critical for health. I would personally rather eat the foods animals eat, than eat animals, as IMO eating animals can be problematic on many levels. Of course, we are adaptable, and what works for me, may not work for you, and vice versa, due to my ethnicity, I have been told I am lactose intolerant.
