Enjoy me having a "This is my first study abroad" moment and learning about what happened. A little brutal for it to happen on night one, but I got through it!

I would recommend Via Inn, Nihonbashi Tokyo. I only stayed there for four days. It is very clean, the staff can speak English, however the washer and driers you do have to pay using coins.
Overall my experience was very positive. The hotel room (as probably most in Japan) had the staff make the beds daily while we were out and about in Tokyo. The location of this one in particular was extremely convenient and had two seven elevens steps away from the hotel.
For an American, I remember the beds were too close together so we separated them each day (if you plan to stay with a roommate).
