Bad Endings. I don't know about anyone else, but they terrify me. Just when the hero(es) thought everything was finally right, just when it looked like peace had finally returned to the world, something happens that, at best, creates a bittersweet victory and, at worst, spoils everything and the enemies win, despite everything that happened throughout your adventure. Bad endings don't give you any second chances, you screwed things up for everyone and you must pay dearly...

I didn't know Professor Layton used to kidnap families and force them to run amusement parks till the go bankrupt and decide to commit suicide.
Smiles1222 Looks more like Wily Wonka with Layton's face and a higher Layton voice, but true. I guess that's what happened after the third game.
Smiles1222 Your comment made my day
I guess you can say that this was a puzzle he couldn't solve.
wierdest creepy ending award
+Roadent1241 Doesn't sound a sliver Layton to me.
Moral of the game, kids: There's always an easy way out.
To make things worse, I think somewhere (I forget if it's in a manual or game text) talks about how you see your whole empire coming down and decide there's only one way out before stating, and I quote, "It's a long way down..."
That’s disturbing.
"It's a Long Way Down..."
*Falls* *off* *the* *First* *Story* *Building*
The main attraction of Dead's Death Land appears to be about a hundred men running lawnmowers in a mostly empty field while many chicken men get in their way. I would totally give that theme park a high rating, too!
i gotta admit that the ending was creepy, but not for the suicide, but for the LOUD game over music, i think that those kind of music makes all the job
I heard the ending is supposed to be like this:
If you become bankrupt the park owner jumps out of the window of his office on the first floor. Then he takes a final peek at his office before leaving.
Why he jumps out of a window i have no idea.
+GibusCat Maybe a loan shark was trying to break down the door, so the window was the only escape route.
Me having depression for failing test
Geese Howard
He was commiting suicide
Probably because his angry co-workers were knocking on the door and this was the only way out.
The instruction manual makes this scene even worse.
"The park has to close, your life's work collapses around you, and there's only one honourable way out. It's a long way down..."
"It's a Long Way Down..."
*Falls* *off* *the* *First* *Story* *Building*
I always thought it was a picture, and you could see the park owner hiding behind a box thing in shame.
*Realises I have this game, proceeds to run away from it*
Adorable pfp.
I’d beat it to this game
I remember renting this for the Genesis when I was a kid, and I ended up being to scared to play it again after I got game over SO I FEEL YOUR PAIN MAN
That poor dog :(
I think the bad ending actually meant this:
Park Owner:"Oh well my parents are knocking at the door screaming about my failure so ill escape from my home to escape the shame."
*Jumps from 1st floor window*
*Gets back up on the window*
Park Owner: "No way,im gonna try again! I will make another park and not screw up this time!"
Nintendofan54322 The Challenge Guy "meaned"?
VideoGamerGuy95
There,i fixed it.
+Nintendofan54322 The Challenge Guy
Ah, much better.
who tf jumps from the first floor window
Me having depression for failing test
If there's one bit of advice I can give with this game, it's this: "KNOW WHEN TO QUIT".
If you think your park has run it's course and your ready to go elsewhere, auction it off and move on.
While I would have liked to see my park expand further, a "Great Depression" hit and inflation went absolutely haywire, causing that stupid "Next year you will go bankrupt" screen to pop up, even though I was sitting on a cold million. That was my cue to auction the park, take my newly acquired 2.7 million, and get the hell out of Dodge.
Europe is meshed into one location. No wonder some people think it is a country.
Dylan McKaig found you
Padster shit been found out run!
Dylan McKaig do people actually think Europe is a country?
bubby boy, if some people think Africa is a country, I don't see why some won't also think Europe is one too
Yep, people are that bad at geography.
how does a game like THAT get a bad ending
By managing a park so badly you become bankrupt, that's how.
I've got a lot of questions.
- Who made the game over cutscene?
- WHY did they make the game over cutscene?
- Is the person who made the game over cutscene mentally stable?
- Who allowed the game over cutscene?
- WHY did they allow the game over cutscene?
- Is/Are the person/people who allowed the game over cutscene mentally stable?
- Who thought it would be a good idea the remake the cutscene on the SNES and Genesis?
- How did both versions get past censors?
- If the idea of the cutscene wasn't to imply suicide, then what on earth was it meant to convey?
And the most important question:
_How the heck is this a kid's game?_
I own this on the PS1, fun game, has a money cheat. Make your name 'Bovine' and then hold X, Square, and Circle down while in the park and you'll gain money like crazy. It even says "It's you buddy has just cheated." when you're doing it.
I thought theme parks were supposed to be happy and fun. What the hell is this?
Real life.
Aureo ThaMaster
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide,
No escape from reality.

Sauron DNF Look up to the skies and see...
***** I need no sympathy... Bohemian Raphsody chain in a git video LOL
The attempted suicide at the end is just so, holy fuck.
That scene actually made me scared the first time I played it.
My reaction:
"This game doesn't look that bad, how could a fun and campy game have a creepy ending?"
*Sees the owner attempt suicide*
"...WHAT THE FUCK?"
DrowzeeDreamer Uh CZcams cut off your comment, what's it supposed to see after strike-outed owner attempts suicide?
D MAS Yeah, i usually do my actions with - but i guess it didn't work
DrowzeeDreamer Huh, how so with a dash?
D MAS Like it'd be - jumps - minus the space between.
Oh, but that would be -strikeout.-
"Dad, I'm bored." That quote made me think about my life.
I remember this game and how infuriating it could be! Though, it did bring about one of the funniest memories I have from video games. I was watching my big brother play it one day and he somehow built the bounce castle on a park goer. The person was stuck under the ride and every time the castle simulated being jumped on, the person would be squished complete with the cartoon bug eyed look. Not only was it funny to watch but my brother's reaction when he realized he'd done it was priceless!
I remember playing the DS port of this game when I was little, and I certainly didn't recall it having a game over screen!
Now I really regret the fact that I do know about it now!
The knocking terrifies me for some reason...
That game over scene, are you sure it's not park owner's kid running to the balcony edge to see his father go down?
SuperArppis That... actually looks more like what happened.
SuperArppis No, because the person is looking in from the outside.
Borz
You can see their eyes or something? Didn't notice that.
SuperArppis You can only see the head and the hands of the person, the rest is covered by the balcony. If it was the kid, you could see the whole body as it would stand inside the house.
But you cannot really tell, since it's so blurry.
Their hands come up from behind the window so it is just the same person.
I remember as a young child sinking hours into the DS port. Ah, good times
Oh my God... I thought the ending for the PS2 "Theme Park World" was creepy, in which the entrance gate simply closes ominously, with the words "Game Over" in big bold lettering... now what the hell - there's a PSone version wherein the main character f***ing kills himself!? Jesus H. Christ!
Go to the snes version.
Wow....thats just dark
I remember playing this game when I was a kid. Because I didn't understand English language at that time, I couldn't figure out what I had to do to don't get the Game Over. But, damn, it really scared me by its feel of loss and sadness. Totally unexpected.
I played this game to death as a kid, but I honestly found " Theme Hospital " far more entertaining......Also hell.....And heaven.....And death.......So much death....
YES. I have it on Origin and it's the most addicting game I've played in a while. Personally, I found the endings more strange than creepy.
Also, off-topic, but why the living hell would you name your hospital _AKIRA?_ Do you realize what image that creates for your hospital?
0:13 I don't know, I'd consider it a classic. After all, it DID predate Roller Coaster Tycoon.
Wow, I did not see that coming! My expectations were low, but that game over screen! Dang!
In all seriousness though, I am disturbed. :(
All I remember from this game is my brother playing it...and this fucking game over.
Isn't that already censored? i kinda remember reading that originally the owner's head didn't pop out
you were saying that running a park is serious business, and than you danny'd.
holy shit, the intro is like a fever dream
I swear the music starting at 2:09 is from the Bomberman series...
yup
Sounds a bit similar to the Bomberman 93 Classic Theme. Or multiplayer theme
(Edit: It's from Super Bomberman)
@@FinTroller it's fro.....oh yeah you got it. I was almost triggered to reply with the answer as a bomber fan
@@troywright359 Yeah I had played 93 from the Turbografx-16 on the Wii but I modded my Snes Classic and installed Super Bomberman and realized that it was from that. They sound a bit similar though. I still prefer the '93 music though.
Love your work man, found your channel a week ago and have watched tons of your videos and cant stop watching....its as if you have some sort of spell being broadcast by your videos 0-o well any who great work and as a fellow SNES rpg lover I thank you good sir. O one more thing thanks for the fire emblem stuff I recently picked up awakening and have quickly grown to love the series.
If you try to save money by cutting/delaying staff wages, they'll go on strike with noisy pickets and marches outside the front gates. Then you get a fun minigame of negotiating with the union rep, haggling a settlement represented by cartoon hands reaching across a table to shake.
That would've been my strategy if I ever play, but it sounds harsh. I don't want a mob ruining my park!
The corporate world isn't forgiving behind the magic and park simming.... 😂 I miss this game so much
there was no reason why the owner's theme park got bankrupt and he committed suicide? that was way dark! why could bullfrog productions do that!?
Later the game means your park is going to be bankrupt but the genesis looks like he stopped falling...
Yea not a good message to send to kids....
That's one way to make me never want to open a theme park.
What I take from that ending is :
That man magically absorbs them into virtual reality. Seeing how things goes down, he gets out of the VR, escapes from the family who he abducted and screwed over. Jumps out the window and looks back at em one last time while funeral music starts playing. He murdered them inside the VR.
Kinda reminds me of Constructor on PS1. Both intro and bad ending are pretty creepy.
When I was a kid, I just wanted to build the biggest park with the most features. I never really understood back then that hiring staff meant ongoing wages. So I saw the game over screen a lot.
3:56
Alexa: *Now playing Chopin funeral music*
In the words of the Nostalgia Critic:
Y'know, for kids!
What the hell, since when was 76 a low price for tickets? Ours is 36 euros for access to all devices for the day, for 130cm+ people. Of course, you still have to pay for the stuff you buy there, but still.
(3:02) Also... Dick Hall?
It says Nick Hall, I think.
"Do as I say, not as I do." That's this video in a nutshell.
3:03 Dead? Oh gosh, the ending is that you die, isn't it?
...Well, that got dark fucking fast.
+D MAS
"...Well, that got *dark* fucking fast."
Well played.
Ryan Sample How so?
And here I just assumed bankruptcy would eventually lead to good things, like eventually becoming leader of your own global superpower.
Well my dumbass curiosity decided to watch this and now I'm disturbed.
I just imagine the Antarctica theme park commercial starting off like they usually do but devolving into the owner just begging people to come by the end like:
"I know no one in their right mind would visit a theme park in Antarctica... but this is the only land I could get and I spent all my life savings on this. So please... please come on down! I'll do anything!"
*Cries in the background while the commercial outro jingle plays*
"you can't kill lub lub"
what about lovely good endings?
Suggestion: Darkseed 2 for Creepy Bad Ending video? It has a pretty creepy bad endng.. as its ONLY ENDING
I hope one day you cover the soul crushing bad endings of Persona 4.
Oh god these cutscenes scare the shit out of me
They lack souls
Fortunately, you don't get these kinds of failure scenes in the RollerCoaster Tycoon series (even though your parks can still go bankrupt).
Am I having the Mandela effect? I swear when you got a game over you got a scene where you actually see the shadow of the guy hanging by a noose. Am I thinking of a different game, or is my mind just that twisted? 😂
I am so glad I found this, after so many years!!!!
That game over screen; I still remember it so sharply, where he jumped!
Man, that was just DARK!!!!!
...I honestly wish this game could be re-released, but with text that's legible, better graphics, and just properly restored (audio too).
I would have better enjoyed it (if I could have read the text).
Accurate Title: Owner jumps out of window over bankruptcy
3:54 me having depression for failing test in School
There was actually another ending, where you go through a funhouse of sorts AND DEAR GOD IT PUTS THIS ENDING TO SHAME!
I wanna see it.
How do you get it, though?
I think you get it through the same method as you do here, but it's only on the DOS version. It's on CZcams, so good luck.
The KaBlammer Can you leave a link to the video? I'm having a hard time finding it.
Frodo laughs at you Well, shit. I can't find it either. But I swear, I saw it! I vividly remember getting scared! You're riding through some ride, and some clown jump scares the player.
The KaBlammer That sounds creepy, especially if you consider the clown to be a killer...
I remember a sequel called "Theme Park: Roller Coaster" for the PS2 (Sim Theme Park is the same game for PC and PS1). I don't know if I still have it, or if it has any bad endings.
Adding bomberman music to the video was a great idea!
in the 16-bit version the park owner is T-posing to assert dominance
so what does happen if you open a theme park in antartica
It plays like any other location, though it's one of the most difficult.
Can you do the same thing for the Game Over screens for Theme Park World/Sim Theme Park and Theme Park Inc/Sim Coaster?
On the SNES he looks like he's just stepping out of his garage
2:09 Sounds like Bomber Man's Bonus Stage
easiest way to avoid failing was to type bullfrog as name. Not sure if its wrighten right, but you could press l1 and circle button, as i remember right and give you endless amount of money.
I remember this it was harsh as hell!
I remember playing the PS1 version of this game. I'm never going to look at it the same way, now that I know how the game originally ended. O_O
I forget what it does in the DOS version. I have a feeling though that he doesn't come back up!
The man tried to commit suicide but ended up grabbing ledge smh
Theme park in Antarctica. Genius.
3:03: Of course yours is the highest rated; it's got all of those Chicken Men for Pete's sake! There just aren't enough Chicken Men in the world.
Does anyone else think the Adviser sort of looks like Professor Layton?
you should do the endings of dead rising off the record
Do the bad endings for Theme Hospital next.
JoltDerg Oh yes
Are you finished with the dynamite heady boss analysis
0:50 Chile doesnt exist according to videogames. And when it does exist its really hard to find.
At least it appears on Mario is missing on the world map.
+NeutroDevice I'm so glad there's still hope in this planet, i come from that place, or how i love to call it : "The end of the world", basically we're invisible for North America in general (Exept Mexico).
Glad it's not the case in Europe or Asia.
You can build a theme park in Antarctica but there's not even mention of Canada? Fail.
Please do a creepy bad endings, video about the game Starflight for the Sega genesis, you wont be dissapointed!
did we can play that game with PC?
3:52 sounds?
357 lol he pops bac up.
THERE'S NOT ENOUGH CHICKEN MEN IN THIS LOCATION.
RELEASE THE CHICKEN MEN!
Great video as always. Holy shit, And I thought Nintendo games were the only kid games with scary things (Majora's mask, and a very big etc).
BTW, what's the music you use at 2:10 (Darude Sandstorm in 3..., 2..., 1...
Theme Park Soundtrack LOL
Creepercreeps101 I... KNEW... IT...!!! KILL HIM WITH FIRE GUYS! *My body guards shoot you*
Pd:He edited his comment, but earlier it said ''darude theme park''
Sorry just had to
So sorry
LOL
Oops
have u ever heard about roller coaster tycoon???
Is there actualy a way to make free tickets viable?
I call an ending like this a "JEEEEEEEZUSSSS!!!!!!" kind of ending
Why in the fuck a "fun and happy" game would have a creepy ending?
Woah! That advisor guy just kidnapped them! what the fuck dude i'm calling the cops!
never enough chicken men
some day, lub lub will have it's own theme park
5:02
Sesame Street did that once.
YOU FIRST LAD
Wait, I remember! This is SNES right?
