These two 300+ lb guys fought until the end and didn’t hug each other once. Eddie went through the fight with two bloody eyes and they both got knocked down multiple times and got right back up. An incredible display of stamina and a better show than most of these celebrity boxing matches.
That is very very true don’t see many pro fights without all the feeling each other up
Let’s not judge it compared to you tubers, let’s compare it to amateur boxing and it’s still poor really, Eddie having his guard down from opening bell says it all
Edie had 2 years of preparing and learning new boxing skills ...but we saw only predictable right hook...no setups of that hook...no foot work to get inside and try upercut. All he did was 1 punch....and he was training for 2 years...jeez
@@iamaced479 well it wasnt a display of phenomenal boxing skill for sure, but they were hitting each other and it was entertaining

Loved Eddie telegraphing punches & Thor's sad jabs slow and not reaching Eddie's head most of the time.
What's next another fight or rumours going back into strongman another 5 yrs?
I actually enjoyed the fight, both showed a lot of heart and kept going. It certainly wasn’t a stinker. Well done Eddie and Thor, respect!
Reports surfacing that Eddie had fooked his left arm again before the fight but didn’t want to pull out a second time! Thors trainer first commented that they new something was wrong with Eddies left arm! Interesting!
Well, the fact that there was zero clinching in the fight already made it more entertaining than majority of professional hw boxing matches in my book
Hmm
@@Rijotan no clinching because that's a pro move. It's called energy retention. Every single world heavyweight champion has used clinching to great affect because it's part of pro boxing
@@iiTzzDonMike1305 of course, but you have to admit that doesn't make for an entertaining fight

Eddie pre fight: “Thor looks withered and sickly, I’m going to destroy him.”
Eddie post fight: “I just fought the biggest man on the planet.”
😂😂😂
It's called hyping the fight should he of said "he's to big I can't beat him" pre fight? 🤡
So true! Funny AF.
but he hyped for the fight
I don't understand why he has to exaggerate everything (and in the case of biggest man on the planet just blatantly lie). The guys an absolute joke.
Sorry to say, but I really expected more from Eddie. Thor really looked like a boxer, Eddie didn´t. Eddie had the same stance the whole fight basically. It was a night and day difference between those two in Thor´s favor. I wanted Eddie to win but it was pretty clear during the fight that wouldn´t happen.
Im wondering if the injury had anything to do with it? It’s almost like he forgot he had two arms.🤔🤷🏻♂️
When his kid said you did good it touched my heart. Better than winning having a lad like that.
Nah you definitely won a title, world title of a shit person 👍🏻
@KenBo Slice 😂😂I feel you
@KenBo Slice who tf are you and when did they give out world titles for keyboard warriors
yes Eddie did some hard ones vs Thor even thor admitted Eddie punches very hard.
Eddie just need more boxing experience.
Thor started all this mess. It will be a rematch in future If Thor given Eddie the respect he deserved in wsm 2017 none of this mess would have happend. The better honest man Eddie will win in future hoping for vs Thor if a rematch happends.

Always knew it was gonna end this way by watching his videos. Total yes man coach. No profesional coach would ever let a beginner train the way Eddie did. Thor did it correctly, went to an actual boxing gym with real coaches and sparring partners.
Yup! Knew it months ago on one of his blogs "Yeah he's good." His sparring partner said trying to keep a straight face.
Thor fully committed himself to becoming a boxer, Eddie was too arrogant and thought a few biking style sessions a week will do.
So much respect for Thor in the way he just walked away from strong man training and threw himself into boxing.
Yeah I knew Thor was going to win but I was honestly surprised Eddie made it threw the whole match with that stance and only getting knocked down twice. I probably overestimated Thor as he is still rather new to the sport as well.
Switch coaches and you'd get the same result. The blame lies with Eddie. His arrogance would never allow him to take instructions.
@@john0405 I don’t think Eddie slacked on anything, he trained boxing pretty much 6 days a week too. His training just didn’t seem as productive as it needed to be, he never seemed to spar against many good boxers or work on the basics.
Simple as this: Thor trained and took the fight seriously, and legit wanted a win
Eddie, lacked training and just thought he could bully Thor with intimidation and haymakers.
Or Maybe Eddie just wanted the money from fight and retire. He probably never invested in proper training because he never wanted to get in boxing.
@@HarshitKumar-lg1ol the bloke spent tens of thousands on a boxing gym in his house and top of the range recovery kit. His issue was putting his faith in some unknown, unproven boxing trainer from Stoke that nobody had heard of whilst Thor went with Billy Nelson - one of the best.

@@JB-yl1lo They're both amateurs. You're making it sound like they're champions lmao. Eddie Hall has boxed more than Halfthor. That's what it comes down to.
@@thew1ldone889 wdym eddie has boxed more. thor had more fights and experience disnt get an injury and eddie had a bicep injury for almost year. still, thor won fair and square but i think if they both trained at the same level consistently, eddie would have won. eddie’s more explosive and faster but thor’s more technical and had a game plan.
I think the whole fight came down to the fact that Thor actually learned how to box and Eddie didn't, and skill will usually win out over Braun.

I know man, he was just waiting for the one shot that never came
@@Onegamex annnnd then the excuses started rolling in.
@@Teddy-se8qb He was dehydrated...
@@Onegamex You're wrong. He has been training like this forever. You can see this in several older videos. And you can hear his coach say that he has to keep his hands up... He just didn't listen and wanted to do his own thing.
After two years of dedicated training that was a poor performance by Eddie, there was no sign of the beast in that ring. He'd been very vocal but didn't back it up which is a shame cos I follow him and really wanted him to win.
He literally fought the way he trained to fight, as what you do in the ring on fight night is simply an extension of what you did in training and sparring. Eddie needed to learn the fundamentals of in fighting which means learning to fight with the jab, move his head and let his hands go off the head movement, moving his head before and after letting his hands go.
I disagree, those right hand bombs were the sign of a beast! Gorilla punches!
@@homelander918 Even though it's a punching sport it really isn't all about the power of your punch, but yes Eddie would knock me out with a one even with just 20% of his power
Hahaha what he tore his bicep completely off?
He injured himself twice during his training and you act like he was going ham for an entire two years. He obviously followed his game plan of fishing for a sweet counter shot but Thor wouldn't give it to him which was very smart. Both fighters did their best and to say he gave a poor performance because you simply wanted him to win makes you come off as such a weak minded individual.
Thor won and gave Eddie a compliment. Eddie lost and gave himself a compliment. That should tell you where their heads were at going into this fight.
Instantly making excuses too. "Biggest man on the planet". Eddie the ego hall weighed in heavier😂
He literally said the better man won.
@@sunshui6114 when? Cause all I saw was that Eddie changed his video caption on IG to credit Thor AFTER people gave him shit for making it about himself as usual.
Very good point
Eddie's head never left his ass
It came down to fundamentals, Thor just looked far more well schooled, kept his shape, had a very decent jab, kept his distance well and threw some good one two’s, Eddie from the opening bell was just loading up looking for that over hand right all night and had no other plan
You hit the nail on the head. Thor fought a better more fundamentally sound fight outside. I had red flags pop in my head immediately when i saw how eddie in training etc would get inside then hop back out which is the worst thing for a guy who needs to be fundamentally sound inside to do. I had flashbacks to my trainer screaming "dont ever back out when you get inside! Get inside and stay inside! Let your opponent be the one to back out". I was a big puncher and at the time was 5'8" 170lbs so he knew i needed to take full advantage of my talents and body size etc. Eddie never had a chance other than landing a really clean shot but due to his not understanding in fighting that was never gonna happen.
Eddie just full of ego and mouth and literally not even fit enough to hold his arms up...copped what he deserved and time to get over himself.
No other plan because he can't box, and turns out he doesn't even know how to throw a punch. After all the talking he did aswel, he owes a Lot of money out now hahaaa!
Eddie was double dipping on some of those overhand rights
Comment of the fucking year 😂😂😂
Rofl
Eddie hall is a prime example of "leave your ego at the door or get humbled"
It's about time Eddie got humbled, his ego was out of control.
Hall is the typical gobby nob in the pub who stares people out and creates reasons to fight then gets battered in the carpark. Thor is the guy just trying to have a quite drink after a hard day.
Your point cannot be stressed enough. Eddie's ego is to the mmon.
why was he suppose to to say "yeah i could loose this fight and Thors just so good" wouldn't be much of a hype for ppl to watch would it, I mean name one boxing match pre interview where they were giving each other credit!!!
@@heretoannoyu4706 Yeah there’s one problem with that, this rivalry has nothing to do with the boxing match. It was happening well before either of them even decided to train boxing.
@@heretoannoyu4706 he could've not barked like a little bitch, just a thought.
Said this from the start, Thor left his ego at the door when starting this journey and Eddie didn’t. Did things his way and it showed.
Yep. I remember watching some of Hall's videos well over a year ago, where plenty of people were advising him to do some proper training / sparring / take a couple of fights instead of just punching the crap out of his sparring partner.
People were bashing Thor for looking slow etc, but just looked to me like someone training hard studying the fundamentals.
Very clearly too. Sad.
@@charliehmi76 Thor let Eddie wear himself out. Smart move Thor.
Ego is Good, it makes fighters interesting, just look at McGregor,Khan and Mayweather, I'd rather have a cocky arrogant fighter than some boring" humble" wuss like khabib , send me location? How about you learn some basic English
@@Carltonwanks You should have ego when you step in the ring like "This guy doesn't have shit for me, I'm way better, I'm gonna win 100%"
But not at the gym lmao you don't start arguing with your coach because he wants to fix your technique
I had a feeling Eddie's technique would be bad because he does everything his own way. If you're uncoachable you're not going to learn the fundamentals of boxing which Thor actually did display quite well.
That's what narcissists do mate they can't be helped.
Thor is a boxer while eddie is a brawler
When you look at Eddie’s posture, he’s not built to be a fighter by any stretch. Guys like this will always be sluggers. He could get a lil better sure, working on flexibility/fluidity etc… But he’s not ever going to be a straight puncher
Well honestly a one hitter quitter was Eddies only hope in this fight, so that's what he went for. Even though he was sending each one via Pony Express. lol
@@generalkayoss7347 Good one😂😂😂😂😂🥊
All Eddie has in his arsenal was a wild swinging haymaker, don't even think he threw a jab the whole fight. Dude got humbled, better stick to lifting weights unlike Thor who I would pay to see again.
He threw one good jab and actually got Thor in the face actually. Must've had an ongoing bicep issue after the tear

Eddie also knocked down Thor twice bud. Thor won because of the technique and stamina, not because he knocked down eddie twice, eddie did the same to Thor.
@@itssardine5351 Eddie pushed him one of those times so it didn’t count
For someone who managed worlds strongest man and got a world record breaking level of strength I do find it amazing how he didn't bother with any boxing basics whatsoever and just threw a big right hand. I'm more disappointed in that than anything else. For someone so driven and invested, and as someone who reached the highest high in an extreme sport, its just bizarre.
His ego is too big, you need to be humble to learn
(Defiantly no rematch please )I hate to say it I like Eddie but he was terrible, did he even train for the fight. Thors work ethic and mind set is on another level compared Eddie I mean just look at thors transformation leading up to the fight Eddie looked like he had been training for 5 mins ( Thor would beat him every time in a fight if Thor let his hands loose more he could of ended it at any moment
Crouch stance new 1 for me lol
He clearly didn’t want to loose weight. Thats his biggest problem. Thor has the body of a boxer, which means he combines strength, endurance, agility. Eddie ist just a strongman
@@cryptoallstar9568 come on man he wasn't that bad. He fought differently and definitely could have used more fundamentals, but he lasted all 6 rounds and considering his lack of guard didn't get knocked down too many more times than he knocked down Thor. He doesn't have Thor's reach but he does have power and he played to that. Honestly thought it was interesting what he was doing and really am just interested to know if had he gone for more body shots would it have been different?
You said he was “skinny and looked ill” this week?
Now he’s the biggest guy on the planet?!
Eddie does not like Thor so of course thor losing massive amounts of weight , he’s gonna find a way to ramble him. As a Eddie fan , this fight was disappointing . Eddie said so much but did so little.
Yep talked the talk couldn't walk the walk
@@mrlee3294 yep, i totally agree. I followed Ed on his channel for two years, he made out he had some special skillset that he was going to unleash but it was terrible. He couldn’t let go of the big strongman thing and did silly weights to stay big. Thor actually trained to be a boxer!
@@michaelgriffin209 What saddens me even more is , the build up . Eddie did so well at promoting how Thor is gonna cremated after the fight. And how he “gives pro boxers a run for their money” or how he has unseen “good footage”. FFS he couldn’t even box , he thought leaving his hands down and throwing 2-3 windmills would beat a man like Thor who actually knows the simple fundamentals of boxing
throwing single punches and cocking the right hand down to the canvass was an unusual tactic.
No, you didn’t give it a good go. You just walked round the ring, right arm by your side and throwing it once or twice a round.

Most enjoyable fight I a while . Well-done lads
Makes me wonder what Eddie has been doing for the last 2 years in his training camp, as i see no real improvement from now to the vlogs when he first started training.Thor on the other hand, has vastly improved since the Devon fight last year…The funny thing is, Eddie displayed better boxing ability back in his 2012 charity boxing match than what he has done in all the last 2 years that he has been training.
You mean he looked better against a man half his size than someone on his own weight but taller? That’s shocking!
When this fight got announced I thought that Eddie has a huge advantage bc of the charity boxing footage. For someone his weight who didn't really train boxing, it was pretty good.
But yah almost seems like he got worse
eddie did, what he always critiziced thor for: surrounding himself with yes-men... now thor majured and knows exactly what he is doing while eddie seems to stay emotional and doesnt grow up, which makes him a good entertainer but lose out on sports in the future since he probably wont aknowledge the fact that he is getting older either
He was purely going for a ko he wasn't trying to win by points
Bruh did you see his head movement? It was actually pretty good considering Thor has been doing nothing but technique yet he was pretty evasive.
No Eddie, you're lying to yourself. You had a shite boxing coach and a bunch of yes men around you. How could not learn an ounce of technique in 2 years? Whereas Thor was a real student of the game. I wanted Eddie to win and I'm super disappointed in his gameplan/coaches.
It's amazing that he said Thor was surrounded by yes men, and now him listening to yes men is why he got embarrassed. Life is just petty like that sometimes.
Honestly so fucking dull to watch. Om surprised Eddie even claims to have been training for it
Eddie is not evey intelligent to be honest aside any trolling
10/10 he needs a refund from the coach. Hafthor went into a hole and yesmen screwed him, and clearly Eddie did too and his yesmen and dumb coach screwed him too. Anyone else would have been KO'd in seconds with that technique. I like Eddie but I'm just glad he is alive.

Completely agree. Thor got much better and learned to box. Eddie didn't 👍
@Justin Rand The weights aren't the problem it how you weight training makes you a better athlete. Eddie did no plyo work no conjugate weight training what so ever and that cost him. Weight training for athletic gains is something completely different then doing the hypertrophy work.
None of that matters when you block punches with your face like Eddie did
Training : agreed
It just stinks that the guy i wanted to win didn’t seem to take it as seriously as i had hoped he would.
Let's face it. You aren't that important.
I am a fan of Eddie, I watch almost all his videos, followed his journey for long now. That being said, eddie came to brawl while Thor came to box, the massive difference in technique was quite obvious here. Eddie was all talk no substance. All the talk about going rounds with pro boxers, beating them- yeah none of that showed in the ring. "I put on social media only what I choose to show Thor".. there wasnt much you hid. Yeah good head movement, quick feet and good weaving tbh, which was surprising. Thor came with a gameplan though, Eddie came on a prayer of lucking out and hitting Thor with a haymaker. All that smack and trash talk and smug face now makes you wonder if he was just trying to hide his insecurities behind it all. He had heart, guts, sure. But Thor had the basics of boxing down and thats all it took to win this fight really. Good job Thor, good job Eddie, hopefully you guys make a sensational return to strongman rather than have a rematch ffs.

Definitely a big Eddie fan but he talked a massive game but when he lost he just says "He is the biggest guy on the planet so did not to bad" which is just to make himself feel better, I hope he gets a rematch but I think he needs to forget everything he has learned on how to box up to this point and start from scratch, because his game plan of just trying to use power isn't the smart game, Trying to win by Technique and only using a Knock out as a posibility not the game plan is the way to go, Thor played the smart game and he won, Definitely Eddie's lack of blocking skill combined with Thors extended reach was the key factor there.
Eddie was armed only in right swing that's why he lost.
Not everyone is built to box this late at life, can you imagine that build trying to out jab Thor with proper technique. If Eddie had more faints and a few more varied shots I still believe he could of Roy Jones jr’d Thor
Damn right..awesome effort from both guys..I was impressed..
Respect to both
Just to echo what many have said I'm so disappointed in the manor in which Eddie lost not the actual loss itself. He promised so much and delivered nothing. Thor was true to his game plan and delivered, I've been following Eddie throughout this 2 year build up and i feel slightly cheated if that makes sense,
Eddie was training to beat up Thor in a narrow alleyway street fight i swear, not a boxing ring lol
He did pretty good the first rounds and tagged Thor alot. Dude has a strong neck/head
Yes same, he was let down by his trainers and yes men, she showed no evidence that he'd received any basic boxing training at all. He's put loads of work in but you have to work smart as well as hard.
The basics definitely weren't there, but some of his head movement was great.
cheated out of what? it was a free fight
Those who knew knew already that Thor would take the victory it was absolutely clear months before the fight
They went six rounds... No way in hell anyone would put money on that in their right mind. It was 57-54. You're delusional if you think this wasn't closer than anyone thought it would be.
Yeah it's a shame really because however you feel about Eddie's behaviour in the build-up, I think we can all agree Thor needed taking down a peg or wo after his behaviour in 2017 even if it is a while ago now. But I totally agree that it seemed pretty clear from the get go that the winner would be thor. Eddie nearly had me fooled with his confidence and those early knock downs though I can't lie.
@@YTWgamer How do you think that was close? I want you to do a rewatch one, twice, how many times it need to understand what was happening in the fight. @@Clluthu Well I mean he was training for boxing wasn't he? ahahaha, igy tho, that shit should've been ironed out i the first week or so of training. People thought Eddie was deliberately putting out bad footage. The thing is though, despite the major flaws in his stance and the way he threw and his lack of a guard, it wasn't a complete annihilation for Eddie simply because Thor, while clearly having placed emphasis on the basics and without a doubt having better technique, is still an under experienced boxer. Idk I'd like to see a rematch where hopefully Eddie will have time to learn the basics properly or at least someone will finally be honest with him about his form. I assume he didn't much care about his form because he believed he was going to land one of those massive hooks...
I guess all the adrenaline and fear got to Eddie. It honestly looked like he didn’t know what he was doing, I’m not sure what his last 2 years of training consisted of but I was expecting more from him. I guess he felt that because he was strong he could just knock him out.
Thor in the other hand looked composed, looked like he trained hard and looked as though he was applying his new knowledge.
All that said it takes guts to get into the ring and both men went the full 6 rounds so hats off to them both..

That said, let's be honest, Eddie did NOT improve in that regard over the last few years promoting the event. Insults and just been a pompous narcissist didn't age well, especially considering the outcome. He has some ground to make up in my eyes. Hope both guys move out of the ring before long. TV and film careers look like better goals
Great fight out of both of you!
Well done to both, Thor and Eddie. It takes a lot of courage getting into the ring and having a fight. Some of the comments from the Armchair warriors are very disrespectful. If you have never had the balls to fight in the ring then you're negative comments are irrelevant.

Congratulations to Eddie because he fought to the end with one arm and stopped all the punches with his head
Do you think he may be of the belief that more punches on the head = increased reasoning power? {In his particular case}.
Really did amazing for a crab.
One arm my ass. Stop making excuses. Man has zero skill! That’s what a scared tired fighter looks like. Thor actually trained and learned how to fight. Eddie quickly realized that once the fight started. Eddie looked exactly the same way he looked in the training videos. There’s many humans on this planet that can only use one arm athletically. My son is one of them and he’s a D1 athlete. No shame in that.

I've been following the fight for 2 years, I knew it wasn't going to be an example of great boxing but I was really disappointed in Eddie, all that hard work, all the sparring, all the pad work, Eddie used one punch all fight, over hand right. What was all that creeping low to the right all about? I honestly thought that Eddie might be able to fight, I was totally wrong. Shame really, what a waste of 2 years of training. I'm sure Eddie will say the same thing.
Totally agree, watching Eddie's sparring I thought he'd be on the inside crushing Thor with body shots. Instead Eddie looked like a Level 1 boss in a video game, one move that needs charging up for 2 mins and can see it a mile away
Took the words out my mouth, it’s such a shame cos I wanted Eddie to win, who knows where his technique went but it’s just disappointing

Yup. It was so obvious by his "technique" and posture that he was relying on a single heavy punch as a desperate attempt to get a knockout and win the fight. This is the difference between someone who trains seriously and someone who fooled around.

I think that, if the fight would have happenned as originaly scheduled in September, Eddie would had more chances to win, because Thor basically made a lot of progress the last months, while I have the feeling Eddie only improved, in two years, his stamina, reflexes (the way he avoid being hit by Thor is sometimes pleasant to watch, despite he got hit sometimes), but not much his technique. And the left arm problem did bad results, I am pretty sure he continued boxing instead of rest more time, & took a bad habbit to use his left as shield, & only hit with the right. Brain memorized that, now had to get out.
I watched all of eddies videos of his training but i don't remember seeing him be taught that crouching tiger tekken boxing move.
What you did see is him standing square on facing his opponent with his hands down. Something that didn't work in real life, so he went to the leaning away crouch thing. An actual boxing coach could have taught him how to fight a taller man, but Eddie's ego was too big.
If I was Eddie I would be thoroughly embarrassed at that performance and the whole fight in general, especially the fact his wife, kid and family were ringside to see him box like that. 2 years acting as if he's turned into a pro at boxing, going on about not showing his game plan and footage, constantly making fun of Thor's boxing technique and fights while not having one himself, making out like he's destroying pro fighters in his basement while in reality he's been sparing his best mate and a lanky teenager and then he turns up spends the entire fight flat-footed and the only thing he offered was a wild punch that took longer to load up than a 90s computer.
