I love how John recreate every single song with little fills and licks everytime you hear a song live it sound different. Best Band ever and all 4 members have the same importance.
This is one of their very best performances live w John. Energetic, in tune w eachother, producing such creative juices.

Just watched the whole thing till the very end for the first time. John staying on stage after everyone from the band and rocking it on his own was one of the purest and greatest things I've seen lately. thank you John.

Edwuard Old Flea & Chad are very important to the band also. Flea especially when it comes to song writing. Flea & Chad’s playing is so solid & fill it allows John to do what he wants over the top. A very tight band!

He's usually pretty good at a lot of the songs on this playlist, but yeah they're all on fire here, including Kiedis, and the best I've heard him live on these songs.

Just love the recording and mix level of John's guitar on this. Can actually hear the beautiful harmonics of his guitars! In particular, listen to the bell like tone on Emily (23:19). And you can hear the creamy textures of the distortion, fuzz, wah etc. Also, honestly, has his live vocal work ever been better recorded?
John might have given crazier, more passionate performances but it's hard to beat this one for technique and control. John seemed to know ahead of time exactly what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. He was never rushed and completely on top of it. So assured, confident and masterful. A performance for the aficionados!

When I saw them live Josh's guitar was at the right volume so it might be something to do with how they record it
You can say AK is a little slack in Live performances, but in the album version original songs AK is the real soul of RHCP.
In this particular performance, AK is truly amazin'.

Concerto spettacolare nonchè gratuito...John è stato il vero epicentro della serata sia musicalmente che come disponibilità verso il pubblico...unica nota stonata (a parte quelle di Anthony) il caldo soffacante che c'era per problemi all'impianto di condizionamento, infatti anche i RHCP lo hanno fatto notare !!!!!!! Serata indimenticabile !!!!!!!!

Curious why he doesn't sound like this so often, maybe acoustics, venue, crowd, but I noticed he's really on point here.
He also sounds great at lollapalooza 2006 (USA), Live in Poland, live at Hyde Park, DVD off the map and a few other concerts. He would have a much better voice if he had studied more about music and vocals.
this is my absolute favorite concert and my personal opinion john played the best solos here just so much feeling.

Wow, even though it's one of the "later" Chili Peppers live concert videos, it shows them brimming with energy and motivation, the force of "Me and My Friends" is also refreshingly intense! Hope that even the now-older John will be able to infuse some of the fury again!

best rock guitar alive. no doubt. managing a ten feet pedal board we cannot see while playing and singing. that's the ultimate mixture of feel and control of sound. impressive balance. yeah!
