I actually liked hands of time the soundtrack is awesome and the plot is not boring and I like the plot with Kai finding out the secret of his parents.

Same. Hands of Time is literally my favorite season
tbh the hands of time as villains were one of the only things that kept me interested. but there were some good aspects, like the flashbacks, so that we know more about the old elemental masters, and the music. but my one big problem with it, is that they didn't expand on Cole's RX/lava arms, and whether they were really connected to him turning human or not. the subject was just dropped after the third episode, and never brought up again until s13.
Not really season 7 fault then but just the writers of ninjago putting that plot point off for so long

I personally like all the season, I never found myself getting bored or tired of the show. Does the show have flaws, yes of course, that is true with every show. Some seasons are definitely better than others but I love every single one.

I felt like the middle episodes of the season were very slow paced.
I’m actually very fond of Hands of Time, and while I agree with these reasons people don’t like it, Similar flaws are apparent in other seasons. It just feels like everyone puts all the hate on Hands of Time
It's so true, all flaws can be said for every Season of Ninjago, but they just want to hate and say all that to this season which I really don't get! But hey, hate is hate
The whole season couldve been prevented if wu let acronix fall or if lloyd didnt hold the time blades up in the air like a dumbass… honestly, the only thing i liked about that season was jay standing his ground against an army of snakes at the junk yard and kai and nya finding their parents
@@youngjrr also Season 5 could have been prevented if Wu didn't say to Morro he could be green ninja or Season 1 and 4 could have been prevented if Chen didn't play them out, or S11 could have been prevented if Wu didn't teach Aspheera Spinjizu, or S12 if Jay didn't turn the game on, or S13 if Cole wasn't too curious
@@meduzsazsa8490 those dont compare.. there’s a difference between all of those you mentioned and the one i mentioned.. wu and acronix fought before season 7 and he knew what his intentions were, yet he allowed him to live and move on thinking they would be at peace and wu almost payed the ultimate price for it… so did lloyd when he held up the time blades lol

Yea, the only frustrating part to me is that the Ninjas were very naive and too confident this season like Wu not getting rid of Arconix and Lloyd just celebrating with the Time-Blades just for them to be taken so easily.
I wish we got to see more of the actual hands of time like seeing what they do and how they interact with the army
Crystalized is undoubtedly ninjago's climax. But the hands of time would be perfect for a wrap-up season. Picture an arms race through time with each episode of the season literally set in the setting of a previous one
I Love the suits/outfits/gi/armor (?) the Ninja wear during Hands of Time.
Honestly, I think so many fans leaving after Hands of Time has less to do with the quality of season 7 and more about the inability of certain to cope with the Ninjas' redesigns. Don't get me wrong, Hands of Time is not a great season, but to this day people defend it while decrying the newer seasons simply because they are blinded by nostalgia for the old designs.
Nostalgia is a powerful thing in this community, and to the point you just made I still see people to this day saying the redesigns suck.
And while I get it not all of them are perfect (*cough cough Jay cough cough*) most of them are a minor or major improvement over the old ones.
Take Lloyd for instance, his old design was decent, the hair is what really made it.
The new design looks more alive though, whether it be his signature green eyes, his sharp eyebrows, or is fantastic new hair.
Season 7 overall felt like it was rushed to be put out before the movie.

Season 7's main problem above the horrendous animation is the characters were flat and uncompelling. Wu is okay though.

@@giovannifierros806 S7 and 11 should not be compared at all. In "the attack" Kai literally gets ragdolled on screen lmoa. S11 is leaps and bounds better than 7 in animation.
S7 issues: The Kai’s parents subplot was built up so much just for it to be immodesty made irrelevant after a short and half hearted battle.
Main bulk of the season is slow. I bet many of you forgotten that the ninja went to mega monster amusement park, met with the serpentine, had zane offline for 2 episodes, and had an entire episode dedicated to Jay saving the day. And Met up with Karloff, and had Wu get captured for a while, So much forgettable battles 2. Like the one at borg shop in episode 2. The one with the metal at the building in episode 3, the one at mega monster amusement park, the one with the slow mo time blade, etc. The final 2 episodes also felt rushed. The Boiling sea was so anticlimactic, And the final battle of the season was lame and it didn’t even get resolved in the end.
However I love episode 1, so much mystery and so cool.
S11: The fire chapter sucked. They should’ve gotten done with that around episode 10, NO FILLERS EITHER. And the entire rest would be in the nether realm. 2, despite this being marketed as a Kai season it really was a lloyd season which kinda sucks because I don’t hate lloyd but the entire oni trilogy were lloyd seasons. Sure Kai has the most seasons at this point or maybe tied with lloyd but we haven’t gotten a good Kai story since season 4/5. I’m fine with Lloyd going with Akita and trying to stop zane. He fails, but instead of zane just remembering all of a sudden the other ninja bust in after just defeating boreal, Kai’s stronger than ever, and takes on Zane himself as the other ninja save lloyd and Akita and stop the army. Kai’s fire is destroying zane even with his staff but Zane’s still able to land a few hits, eventually after Kai is winning the battle zane is able to land a nice hit and has Kai stuck in ice and is about to kill him when he remembers and then he turns back into zane. Kai bursts free from the ice and fights zane even more eventually defeating him and getting the staff all for himself. (Can u believe in a season called forbidden spinjitsu Kai is the only one (and nya) to not use FS even when it’s HIS SEASON, lmao) Kai is evil at this point and he is wrecking all the ninja with his forbidden spinjitsu. Vex starts to switch sides and tries to tell kai he is the Pyro Emperor or something but Kai doesn’t care for it and burns him presumably to death. Eventually Kai will turn good again and realize what got into him. But it would be a better finale and will bring back the evil kai from season 4.

I personally love the idea here, with the way they introduced the villains, the soundtrack and whip, and concept of time blades (plus i'm a big time travel fan) My main problems with it are the animation quality, slow pacing, and the humour was not good compared to previous seasons
I will say this, I really like the Time Twins. Both have interesting and fun personalities and also, based off of the time travel rules, actually makes them a slight threat, and this was shown even without the time blades. Plus, their minions are actually pretty cool.
Oh damn, and here Hands of time is my actual favorite season. I never knew fans didn't like it that much.🤔

And here I thought I was the only one who had season 7 as the worst.
It felt like they tried to give each character a little Arc, and a reason for you to care.
but in the end all the arcs fell flat and were uninteresting.
Achronix and Crux could be borderline annoying at times, and when you combine that with characters making silly choices the whole thing just doesn't make you want to finish it.
I recently rewatched the entire series (and by recently I mean we literally finished this week) and me and my brothers all three agree hands of time was the worst season.
Season 11 was supposed to have comedy to go with it, it was supposed to be more cartoony, you could see what they were trying to execute, and while you may not 100% like it you could see what they were going for.
This just felt like they were trying to make it something it was never going to be.
Anyway sorry for the rather lengthy comment, I'm just happy that someone finally sees hands of Time the way I do.

Hands of Time is one of the best Ninjago seasons. It was also the last season with the original Lloyd design.

Wow you actually noticed what I did to and that is the season visually doesn't look finished everything to me looks so rubbery and unfinished like it wasn't fully rendered and the season just seemed a like it would drag on and on and the time twin's in my opinion needed better motivation the way they where wrote absolutely sucked I stood by saying season 11 is better than season 7 and I said that after watching season 11 only once since then I've seen season 11 like 6 time's and hand's of time 3
Honestly, after s7 I was expecting a season which meant more depth in this hands of time concept, becuase Wu went missing in time after s7 and then s8 was a completely different thing becuase all of the character models changed into the ones in the Lego Ninjago movie, but all in all that s8-s10 oni arc was quite interesting but after that s11 made me lose my whole taste in the show, and ninjago really was a big part of my childhood and I still think its an amazing show

I legit left at the beginning of the season because a lot of the characters lost a bunch of they’re character development like Jay who should have remained the same from sky bound since he remembered everything but now it dealt like he screamed all of his lines in this season and it just became unbearable
What is problem with that? Jay had character development, but he's still silly and panic, it didn't change

1. Why is Cole not a ghost 🤔 idk how he got his body back I have rewatched this many times and still don't know and I thought the reason he was a ghost because they had a future mirror or glass thingy that hinted he would die but then he figured out he would be a ghost and he could be invisible so now he wouldn't just die in the future but now they basically removed that. Is he now going to die again?
2 I don't like how master wu just gets to fly out the hands of time, time thingy as a baby but no context is given about anything that happens with that and even after the baby wu grows up he still wouldn't talk about it. It seems the "lazy writing" follows into sons of garmadon
For your first question there's a special called day of the departed that happened before season 7 where Cole became human again in the end although hands of time probably should of briefly explained that instead of expecting people to watch a special

Honestly to me what makes this season particularly bad is the muddied time line.
All throughout Ninjago we get a very basic timeline that presents many issues.
The Serpentine wars only taking place 40 years prior yet no one remembering the Serpentine/regarding them as myths
The ages of the ninja is also very contradicting.
Wus age doesn't present an issue since he's part oni so basically can live longer than a normal human.
For a season that is all about time, they did a very poor job of defining the timeline
Wu would have a fucked up growth though, he lives for thousands of years but suddenly in 40 years he goes from an adolescent to a grandpa?
So you're taking questions you have from other seasons and attaching it as flaws for Season 7????

I still cant believe so many people hate this season. It's not a good one and rather mid teir, but its definitely above lots of seasons such as s11 or march of the oni or rebooted. I HIGHLY disagree on alot of ur points. The only think bad about this season was the animation and fight choreography. The plot, the villains, the character treatment, and the soundtrack were all great. 3:03 ya let's focus on two cringy lines and ignore the incredible fight scene said lines take place in. This man really said people left ninjago because of this season like the redesigns after didnt affect the fandom.

It's not bad, just not memorable. Very little of what happens that is important gets used later on and even then the stuff that is still relevant was retold in the season that it was important to because the hands of time is such a old series that the kiddos haven't watched be cause the reruns don't play the first 8 seasons anymore
And what is used in the next seasons from S3,S4, S6, S10, S11, S12 ... except for some characters?
S3: Zane has a completely new outfit
S4: Garmadon is gone and will never come back in sensei form
S6: Nya and Jay become a couple,

I feel like I am one of the few that thinks that Hands of Time was one of the best seasons, with a spirit reminding me of the one of the firsts seasons. In contrast I think that Sons of Garmadons is the worst season by resurecting Garmadon and making him evil again. I quit the show since.
They did explain why he was evil they resurrected *LORD* Garmadon not master/sensei Garmadon they resurrected the evil version so he wasn't fully resurrected but just one piece of him I'm not saying that master/sensei Garmadon can't comeback I'm just explaining why he was resurrected as the evil version.
I pray that the other SOG lovers don't find this post, before people start writing entire documentaries on why you're wrong: goodluck soldier.

Good to have different opinions, but Sons of Garmadon in my eyes is a really well done season with realistic choreography and tones

it's kinda like dotd, it wasn't written by hageman brothers, cuz they were at vacation, then hageman brothers came back at season 8 and season 9, and then left after s10, so im shocked how they wrote season 8 and season 9 but not 7 :D
I hate secrets of forbidden spinjitzu fire chapter because of three reasons 1. Asperea is a lazy villain because she is evil because of wu like chen, morro, time twins like wu has so many enemies who all have against wu or try to use him fo bad things 2. FILLER episodes that add nothing to the plot also the filler episodes in ice chapter 3. CLUTCH POWERS and the other people at the explorers club ( excluding misako) are so selfish and lazy that they dont care about anything but their building getting destroyed and thats why i hate season 11 fire chapter so much 😡😡😡 also ☠️ to clutch powers and the other explorer s club members and not misako cus misako actually cares about others

It wasnt that bad vex is a big improvement over asphera but it had like 2 filler episodes but episode with akitas backstory was the best anime animated episode cus it wasnt garbage or filler
Fire chapter had the guts to ruin Clutch Powers' character, add Antonia (a completely pointless character), create short 10 minute episodes along with freaking filler episodes... Nah, I'm sorry but S11 is just WROOOONG. Ice chapter was cooler, but also illogical. Zane felt no regrets or anything after becoming himself again, so out of character (bc he indeed takes things seriously. Instead of turning that into an impressive emotional character arc, the writers and producers just shove it off and let it go without any explanation)

Yes and his reasoning is better because Moro wanted to be the green ninja and had a big ego and he actually changed for the better unlike aspeera who just wanted to kill wu cus he didn’t break her out of jail when aspheera deserved it.

Imo the worst season was the ice emperor arc and the skull sorcerer season. I liked the hands of time, but it still wasn't my favourite season.

I’ve heard this joke being thrown around a few times, but I truly think that Hands of Time is the season of Ninjago. It feels like a perfectly safe, serviceable, and average Ninjago season which doesn’t push any boundaries in the meanwhile not faltering too hard.
For one, I would say that all of its characters are in character for who they are and none of them are really regressed. Even Lloyd, who many criticize this season, is rightfully called out after parroting lessons he didn’t rightfully learn or earn in seasons 2-6. His arc in the season mainly sets up what is to come for his character in season 9. Moments like the one you noted in episode 70 are also purposefully portrayed as flaws rather than permanent regressions for the characters.
Similar to you, I think that the middle of the season is by far its weakest stretch. It’s kinda strange to say, but I feel like the season tries to go too realistic at times when it really shouldn’t. We honestly don’t need three stretched-out episodes about the vermillion collecting metal; it would have been much more entertaining and interesting if we could just assume that the Time Twins had accumulated metal from whatever source and that the vermillion warriors were building their vehicles. This stretch of the season is where I find most of the boredom lies because there are such little stakes to collecting metal that it takes viewers out of the story.

Well, they were collectig metal just in Episode 4 and in first 3 minutes of Episode 5! I agree with the middle, but many Ninjago seasons are like that! Remember S8, 2 episodes where Cole and Zane sneak in, 1 episode where is just a storm, one where Lloyd just walks with Harumi + few scenes of battling!!
So this thing can be said for more seasons than S7, but people decided to ignore that on most popular seasons, and look for it on most unpopular seasons for I don't know what reason! Which is really sad!
@@meduzsazsa8490 The difference is that in season 8 these plot points have stakes. Cole and Zane sneaking in risks them getting caught, the storm risks the bounty crashing, and Lloyd venturing out with Harumi is tense considering the twist coming up.

Kai is Kai, Pixal and Nya are 2 different characters and Lloyds development is in SoG

@@barelyhere7200 Inconsistencies were there in previous seasons, infact Crystalized removed the inconsistency of Skylor's powers. But I can somewhat agree with it ruining characters like Nya and Racer 7 and Lloyd to some extent. The ending was fine, it is a slightly below average Ninjago finale, but I do find episodes from 23-27 to be boring, very safe and very insignificant. I always found the Distress Calls stupid because how can they not see that the Overlord returned.

The thing is I did like hands of time back when it came out. And too a degree I still do. But I think the problem is the animation kinda dipped and the dialogue is super awkward and clunky at times.
This was one of my fav seasons IF NOT THE BEST season from Ninjago in my opinion, i've got the Iron Doom and the Samurai VXL set as well.
i never had dialogue problem cuz i watch in dutch

Personally I love the originally, It's only season 8 that things went down hill, with season 9 being amazing for the most part, Season ten and afterwards that host the worst Ninjago episodes.
I always think "The Attack" is episode 4 rather than episode 6, the way the storyline progresses each episode always confuses me no matter what

It is the definitely the worst classic ninjago season. I would say even Rebooted was better than this season.

Because nothing in the season besides Wu was good, s11 & s12 at least have the benefit of good side characters and are good for the main character of the season
Hands of Time was enjoyable. It's just the downgrade in animation made lots of people upset, which is clearly understandable. Which is funny, cause I believe S11 looks visually WORSE than any season ever, along with S12 (aka the season that doesn't provides ANYTHING to the show)

s11 animation (WildBrain animation) is Ninjago animation at it's peak, the smoother quick movements, the awesome spinjitzu (although 2D), sketches, and much better texture

What are you talking about? S11 textures look like Pilots to Season 2 level of quality! The fact that they coloured the hairpieces and added better lighting doesn't make the thing automatically better. The facial expressions are also very bad
Anyone think the ninja look plastic. Like they always looked a bit plastic but here they look really plastic.
They look more like rubber like they should be able to stretch

we can all agree though,secrets of the forbidden spinjitzu is definetly far worst than this because atleast this season has an original story instead of bits and peices from other ninjago seasons making it seem like a worst version of thoses concepts.
Having an original idea doesn't make something automatically good, season 11 also has many original ideas and a better execution

Hands of Time was my favorite season until I watched one of the new seasons (it's now my 2nd fav).
Easily the worst part of this season is the dialogue for me. Some of the worst dialogue in any show ever (and the example you used is always the example I use!). A close second reason is how boring the middle episodes are. Wow I can’t believe I finally agree so much
If your going to say that this is the worst season atleast state that it's your opinion. Your just taking minor issues of the season and exaggerating them and dubing the season bad.

It has a lot of issues: cancelation of garmadons character development, airjitzu and elemental dragons disappearing for no storywise reason, and senseless design changes. While season sevens only issues were poor graphics in some scenes and a bit of a rushed story.

I prefer S9, although episodes are fast and nothing much happens there too, but I like it more

The only thing I ever remember about hands of time is something with Kai and Nya's parents, and the last scenes of the season
