@@Ghhjfgfyhh-ph4oxhahahahahahahahahahhaha better passing? please start watching football with your eyes not with your back. Busquets is far superior to Rodri, better dribbling skills, better at reading the game, much better at passing (both short and long), better at interceptions due to positioning and better at releasing pressure and organising the team. Busquets was by far the best DM of his generation, if not the best ever, meanwhile Rodri had to wait for Busquets to retire to take his place in the national midfield, and he was already a superstar at City. This is like comparing Valverde to Modrić, no one would say that the first one is better because he is physically stronger. Busquets literally changed the game and the requirements to play in hid position for the rest of the world.

Frenkie is good at that but not better than Busquets. Also FDJ always needs someone beside him in the position. Busquets can do it alone.

I watch all matches of Barca and what you said is almost opposite in reality. De Jong invites unnecessary pressure onto himself and loses the ball. That is why he's not evolved as a DM even when he almost seemed to fit in that position very easily among other Barca players.

Other facts: Tito & Carles Busquets (Sergio's dad) were teammates in Barca C from 1987 to 88 & 1988-90 at Barca B. Pep & Carles had played together for 11 years. Tito & Pep definitely have known Sergio since he was a kid.

Nico Gonzalez should’ve been next but we let him go for Romeu instead. Much more athletic, press resistant, younger and easily coachable due to his age and intelligence. Could’ve been our answer to Rodri, in terms of a CDM/CM hybrid that could also influence our final third product when needed.

Press resistant, an excellent passer, and smart enough to do his defensive job well in spite of his weak physique. If only Busquets had more dynamism and offensive output, he would’ve challenged Rijkaard for greatest DM of all time
