I had a few things to do before I jumped on to the motorway towards Fforest Fields campsite in Wales. It turned out to be the best place to start my solo vanlife adventure. I hope you enjoy driving down all those country lanes with me 😊🌳

Lovely site and wales is my favourite place to be. Never worry about travelling on your own, if you stay at sites like you are now, you will always find some nice people to chat to, that’s if you choose too 🙂Good luck with your travels and wish you all the best 🙌

Brilliant! Really pleased you've taken the plunge Yasmin. New sub. Done a fair bit of weekenders around UK crashing in my car - want to get a van to do it f/t so saving up. Loved the vlog. Takes a tic to get sorted and settled but you'll find your flow and people are mainly quirky cool. In London, would be great to meetup when I have wheels again as fellow woman solo traveller. 💚

You definitely need a privacy tent and collapsible camp toilet to go in the night to do your business. Night-time isn't great trekking to and from in the dark even with a torch, to the loos. You may be on a campsite but not everyone can be trusted, that's just the facts of life. Have you got a power bank for phone etc. Happy travelling. Good to see another solo female from another culture doing this. I am a solo black female that also travels in spare time around work. You just do you, doesn’t matter if you're on your own. Life is too short. 🇬🇧
I’ve thought about getting a privacy tent. I’m going to look into them :) and thank you for your concern. You’re right on point with it :) I’ve been looking for other Asian/black vanlifers to connect with, but there honestly aren’t many at all. I enjoy watching the Nomadic Introvert and Winterisblu the most. Check them out if you haven’t watched them already 😊 happy travels 🗺️

Hey Jasmine, I've wanted to do this for years. Unfortunately, Ive always had this fear deep within and always expect the worst to happen. I even purchased a campervan last winter but haven't yet used it, june/July is the plan.
I also plan to grow some cahonies and take the plunge. Also, New subscriber here 👋
The fact you have a campervan is the first step. The next step should be easier. Book a campsite and go explore! 😁 hopefully you can get out in it in June/July :)

I'll actually be doing a two to three month cycling tour of the UK soon and was just researching for ideas, advice, and inspiration and it seems a lot of people are doing the same kind of thing. Thank you for this. Just watched the first vid he posted. For me the Redwood Forest is the most beautiful part, especially where the old fella jumps up into the bed! (Nothing is impossibel). It pretty much sums up how I feel. Incredibly insightful. You should travel abroad, maybe to europe for a week or a month to start and then return. I know for me, sometimes, my doubts and insecurties have caused me to not do what I should have. I have found that as long as I live by my moral guidelines and gut instinct and stay true to them and myself I have never gone wrong! Only when I have ignored these have I ended up in a bad place. I suppose the old saying "be true to yourself" sums that up! I am literally in the process of selling everything I own, leaving a very high management job and a huge house in prime London property area (that I will never be able to afford again) to step out on this journey. Thank you ☺️ The rail came with the privacy curtain. I bought it off Amazon amzn.eu/d/ej4IbRz - It’s very easy to put up, just two hooks either side that you hook the rail onto and it’s up 😊

These þhings will help anyone starting out in vanlife
A person needs
A job or savings as vanlife cost 10k + a year depending on lifestyle etc
Eg campsites or wild camping eg Park in layby for free etc plus vehicle running costs and maintenance etc
Decide how you want to eat
Eg cooking or fast food eat out etc
Find out a comfortable sleeping position which will help a person decide what size vehicle they need
And downsize to 3 plastic tubs
1 tub for clothes
1 tub for food
1 tub for everything else
A person only needs a phone for Internet in vanlife
Motorway services provide free showers
And a cheap 30 quid portable loo off amazon Ana a 12v camping shower costs about 30 quid off amazon and a privacy tent costs about 40 quid
Think like a truck driver that lives in their truck they don't pay to park overnight in a layby etc
Campsite costs will get expensive during the year

Whilst a VW will make a more practical Camper don’t discount other makes. If you want a Camper and aren’t fussed by a badge then there are definitely others that won’t require you to sell a kidney 🤣🤣
I think looking into other makes will be what i have to do 😂 or even convert my own. But for the time being i need to make the most of the one I’ve got and stop complaining 😂😁😁

Not quite sure what you mean! I do have a job, which I’ll have to go back to once my finances run out. I’ve set aside some money to travel in my van, the same way someone does when travelling abroad and taking holidays.
