Reebok is the only brand I buy for a lot of reasons but mainly because they were the brand that as a kid allowed me to have name brand sneakers and stop getting teased and bullied because my first cool pair of sneakers that my mom could finally afford came from Reebok and they were the best sneakers I ever owned because they changed my 4th grade life. To this day I am still grateful for Reebok giving my mom an option, something other than the Payless sneakers she was buying us before that day. Reebok has a catalogue that on its worst day can go toe to toe with Nike and Adidas. Above The Rim line, Reebok Pre Seasons, Blacktops, Kamikazes, Questions and Answers, the Mobius and Pump sneakers, their IP is literally legendary... They are making a comeback right now with Shaq and new management, new partnerships with influencers and a newfound energy inhouse. I see them making headway and becoming something that the general public respects and appreciates once again. They may not get back to number 1 but I could see them in a comfortable top 3-5 with exciting new products and occasional reminders of how incredible their Eastbay Era footwear really was. They owned Eastbay for a time when Eastbay was the sneaker bible... All they gotta do is tap back into that IP and they'll be just fine.

They were not only aesthetically pleasing (mostly classics and clubs in an eggshell white) and lasted like 2-3 years no problem being worn every single day free time and work. One big area you missed was Reebok‘s move into ice hockey clothing and equipment. One of Reebok‘s acquisitions was the traditional ice hockey equipment manufacturer CCM. Reebok almost killed off the CCM brand, replacing it with their own. Realizing they were killing off a historic brand that still had value, they reintroduced CCM which ran parallel to Reebok hockey (which introduced pump ice skates - some of the most comfortable skates on the market at the time). When Adidas acquired Reebok, they spun CCM off, but like the NBA, Adidas kept the NHL uniform contract and moved it under their own brand. Frankly, best thing to happen to CCM, since they are now thriving and are clawing back market share from Bauer (which itself had almost been smothered to death by Nike).

My personal experience with Reebok: In the 1980's I bought a pair of Reeboks. I was so impressed with them. They were the most comfortable pair of shoes I had ever owned. I remember telling people that Reeboks were the only shoe I had ever tried where I felt more comfortable wearing them than not wearing them. They were very durable too. After that for around 30 years I almost exclusively bought only Reeboks. Even when I was wearing a suit, I'd buy Reebok walking shoes, which are black in color, so they would look okay as long as no-one took too close a look!
In the 2010's I noticed a rapid decline in the quality of Reeboks. They were no longer comfortable. I could still buy styles that looked good but the fit just wasn't the same. And the quality rapidly went downhill. I bought some pairs where pieces of the sole would just fall off; they had been obviously glued on at the factory but the glue wasn't good enough. Holes would wear right through the shoe, so people could see my socks, within just a few months of me buying them. They just weren't the same shoes that I knew from before.
Now in 2021 I don't own any Reeboks anymore. I've moved on to other brands that give me the comfort and durability that Reeboks used to.

The best sneaker ive found interms of comfort and durability are the reebok freestyle hi . They outdo the airforces interms if comfort by a mile and ive owned them in 2014 and it still has held together for 8 yrs so thats a salute from me. Perhaps the quality of certain styles in thier line declined but the freestyle his are wonderful and ill keep choosing it over any other sneaker by a long shot.

I bought a pair of the Reebok Pumps last year, the exact ones that Dee Brown was wearing in the NBA dunk contest you showed for $300 because I loved them as a kid and I didn’t realize how comfortable they were, especially when you pump them up. But I’ve only wore them out once because I don’t want to mess them up and those were hard to find so now they’re just something I show off when people come over.

It promoted individualism, where as now it's just promoting the UFC as a league.

Also - the old and classic Pumps were not a gimmick. They did create a strong cushioning and tightness around the ankle and midfoot for a better fit of the shoe. Reebok produced great shoes from the 80’s til they were bought by adidas. I had the now classic tennis white shoes. Black and gold high top. The 90’s was the pump high top and other cross training types. In 2k, I had the zig running shoes, they were different but you had to pull rocks out each time you went outside. The best Reebok pair was a NFL licensed turf high top. My job at the time was mostly walking and standing on concrete and these football shoes keep my feet comfortable all day. After adidas took over, the quality of Reebok was not the same. I went to New Balance for running and walking as Nike always chewed up my feet. If Shaq or another investor wants to buy Reebok and bring back the quality of the older products, I would try them out again.

I bought my Reebok pump runners in 2018. I wasn’t turning down a regular price of k er 100 bucks Canadian and were on sale for 30 bucks. Reebok was having a huge huge clearance sale in 2018. Not long after o bought the shoes. They closed up shop. It was a massive massive store. Like a wear house type. The place was so busy. Ppl were buying 2-3 pairs of shoes at once. Nikes are my fav shoes. Always have been. Thought I’d try iut reeboks to see what they were like. They’re ok. Sadly my cat who was a kitten at the time. Decided to think my shoes were toys and popped the air bags inside them. So now. Double my socks lol. And they still are like brand new. And believe me. I walked so much in them that I Probly walked to the moon and back x2. Still very good condition. No scoff marks or cracks. Reliable shoes for sure. Good quality. But the air bags is a minus for me.

@@AntMcLeod that's why Reebok pump made the blacktop line for outdoor playing. And they was voted the greatest outdoor basketball shoe of all time.
Reebok was selling more units of the pump than nike (which included jordan) and Adidas put together, by 2-1.
They was raking in billions a year from that shoe alone. Reeboks only problem was that they over saturated the market by 94-95.
