    The light on your machine is blinding. I've watched this several times in the past. Still looks simple, I just need a hat.

    I was very impressed!! I did one on. Class 4 cobra. And its wasnt bad at all. But it takes a slow going for sure!

    My own experience of putting a finger under the needle, says your better off guiding near the needle with a chop stick. With practice, it’s much easier too,, because you can guide closer to the sewing foot.

    Thank you. I have been wanting to try this on my Cobra 26. I would love to see you do a video showing how to make a crossbody using a saddle blanket and leather.

    great color on the patch, what type of leather and color do you use?

    • @makersleathersupply1220
      @makersleathersupply1220  Před 4 dny

      @craigcater5783 that is Russet skirting from Wickett-Craig. No other color was added, that's just how it stamps.

    Would you prefer a post bed over this cylinder arm bed for hat patches?

    • @makersleathersupply1220
      @makersleathersupply1220  Před 7 měsíci

      Either one will work fine. This cylinder arm can do a lot more of other things than that post bed though.

    Can it also sew embroidery patches ? Or is the machine to heavy duty for that type of material .. thanks love the video currently looking for a machine to buy

    • @makersleathersupply1220
      @makersleathersupply1220  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I've used it to sew many biker patches onto vests if that's the type you mean.

    С таким же успехом можно было сшить и на плоской машине. В идеале для этого дела должна быть колонкового типа машина.

    Nice video, I don't have a sewing machine so is it possible to hand sew it and make it look good. Also, what size thread would you use

  • @barrytuggle1613
    @barrytuggle1613 Před rokem

    Aaron, I have a Class 4 and use 138 thread... I shouldn't have any trouble doing hat patches just like you did should I?

    I know you turn while the needle is in the leather but does it matter if it’s on the up stroke or the downstroke of the cycle?

    • @makersleathersupply1220
      @makersleathersupply1220  Před rokem +1

      The best time is at the beginning of the upstroke. This helps ensure that the shuttle hook has grabbed that top thread so you don't miss a stitch.

    Can this be done on a flatbed machine?

    • @makersleathersupply1220
      @makersleathersupply1220  Před rokem +1

      It is much more difficult because the patch has to "wrap around" the hat. If flattened and sewn, the hat might lose its intended shape

  • @LizDavis2009

      Because Greg Turner does it best... and I like to support those who are good at what they do.
