I'm doing it now since I have the Sony HT-X8500 7.1ch Dolby Atmos/DTS:X Surround Soundbar and it's kind of not safe to go back in the theatres 😂 lol!!!
I'm going to miss seeing this with the theaters being closed down for who knows how long. AMC was my home away from home. Stay safe out there everyone.
Same for imax and other premium formats I only have a 4k hdr 10 plus tv from Samsung that is 43 inches and a 2.1 dolby truehd and dts hd soundbar from Sony that can play up to 7.1 channels yet supports 4k and hdr and also no atmos and dts x
So I've been going to an AMC Theater that has leather, reclinable seats with plenty of room on the sides of you AND in front of you for leg room. I went back to a regular theater because of convenience for a film and it was so different. It was like moving from first class to coach. I can only imagine what seeing Dolby will do to the experience from already having a good standard def AMC Theater.
Jared Bloom never seen a movie in Dolby. There’s one about 3 and a half hours away from me and I wanna go to one really bad. My phone has Dolby atmos and I love it with my Bluetooth headphones and I even love the Dolby on my stereo system at home. Sadly I don’t have a theater with Dolby close by, only a XD theater.
A few months ago I went on a whim with some friends to a movie in Dolby Cinema, and it was the most incredible cinema experience I have ever had! After more than a decade of ho-hum movie going experiences, Dolby Cinema has literally single-handedly reignited my love of movies and cinema! If you haven’t seen a movie in Dolby Cinema, DO IT! If you love movies, you owe it to yourself! I’m not sure I can ever go back to the old way of watching movies again.
DeLorean45 would love to go see one. My phone has Dolby atmos and I love the sound on it. Especially with Bluetooth headphones with really good bass. Is it just really good sound moving everywhere/better picture? Or is there way more to it? Please explain the more thing so I can better understand thank you. Would love to go see a movie in Dolby. But sadly it’s only 3 and a half hours away. Maybe when I’m in town again I’ll have to go to on if a good movie is playing.
Awesome picture, amazing surround sound, really comfortable reclining seats with bass shakers installed to add to the immersion. Just an overall amazing movie going experience! This is how movies are meant to be experienced!
It's called Dolby Cinema at AMC. Prime is now a standalone format. I update the DOLBY and other Premium formats on AMC's website for the marketing team. Thanks for the love and I love DOLBY and IMAX. My favorite formats.
It's because of the new Dolby systems. AMC separated the AMC Prime from the Dolby because not all Prime houses get the same number of speakers (base on cost to remodel the house) but every Dolby is going to be the same. (60 speakers, oscillators in the seats to shake you, and two laser light projectors) Prime auditoriums are usually two xenon bulb projectors. Dolby wanted a blue-ish tint (not the IMAX blue color). AMC Prime's will still be red.
Man, Dolby has spoiled me for life. Since this video is not in HDR, when watching this video in the theatre or on your screen (and I have a good one), you will notice the difference. Especially the coke ad. For example, at 2:01, the two bubbles hit each other and explode. On CZcams, this looks good but slightly washed out. Then in the Dolby Cinema, the theatre lights up in brilliant contrast in this moment and it looks amazing.
Yo, when that ice cube dropped in the cup and those two Bubbles SMASHED against each other.... I got the chills man!! We got a new theater here where I live and SHIT!! its the best movie experience I ever had..... DOLBY IS WHERE IT IS...1:49
Yea man - the sound was so figgin amazing - I felt it in the seat. I have been once - but I do plan to go back and see something again in the future. That theater is truly something.
Dang, I should play this clip that has all these warnings and disclaimers that come with a public theater because it really refreshes the memories as to why I thoroughly enjoy my 150” home cinema screen with Dolby Atmos/DTS-X 9.3.4 surround sound…
They play those clips anymore. I just saw Unhinged in Dolby Cinema at AMC today and the opening clips just got replaced by the AMC 100th anniversary clips, even after the theatres has just reopened.
Never seen a film in Dolby Cinema, but consider me impressed by this pre show. I still prefer IMAX in all out honesty, but still, not a bad first impression.
Just saw Doctor Strange at AMC Prime and the visual quality was amazing. Sound was ok on the movie but during the previews I could feel the seats vibrate during the Top Gun trailer!
I work abroad in France and i watched Joker 3 times in a Dolby theatre, fabulous, next week i go back to Romania, there isn't one single Dolby theatre in the whole country, it's sad when you get used to the good stuff and go back to reheated pizza.
I may just go see Jurassic World again but this time in Dolby Cinema just to see the difference. Ive seen movies in both and I think that IMAX is less extreme audio wise. In Dolby Cinema whenever something exploded I thought the seat was going to blow up, I didn't get that feeling in the IMAX seats.
Plus Dolby Cinema seats are more comfortable because they recline besides feeling the explosions on your seat. Love Dolby Cinema over IMAX even though our IMAX at Navy Pier in Chicago has the best IMAX 12 channel surround is loud and clear.
Dolby is the best when it comes to surround sound. I've been to a Dolby Cinema at AMC Saratoga in California and it's unlike anything I've EVER experienced before. You have to experience Dolby yourself. I'm not telling anything.
@iwannatouchgrass The previous AMC pre rolls were the 100th anniversary pre-rolls from 2020 ever since the pandemic shut down most if not all locations and the bumpers had the 2016-21 Coca Cola logos but fortunately, they changed them in 2024 with the AMC Hollywood bumpers and brought back the Dolby and the IMAX pre rolls but the prime into has yet to be brought back.

@kevinhoward9593 at least my AMC in Jacksonville (AMC Regency 24) hasn’t been touched by the dreaded new Dolby 2023 intro and still plays this 1:07 despite the beginning having the 2020 intro and also it still has the 2015 Dolby intro after the NK advert, but I went and saw Abigail at AMC River east 21 during a trip in Chicago and it played the horrible new intro that began rolling out in some Dolby theaters in 2023. 😳 ¡ Update alert! AMC Regency 24 has been touched by the new intro! 😖

I wonder if some introduction clips from Dolby Cinema at AMC (formerly known as Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime) has been edited and replace by the new AMC 100th anniversary introduction video at AMC Theatres.
I'm going to play this video every time I watch Movie in my house now
I do all I play this and dim the lights I have a dim light switch
I downloaded it to use with cinemavision

I miss Dolby Cinema, my favorite place to see a movie
Am I the only one who thinks Dolby should commission a version of this for home users, to play before any Dolby Vision movie?
You'll need a sound system surrounding your couch from 6 angles. 😑

I’ve seen Solo: A Star Wars Story & Ant-Man and the Wasp in Dolby Cinema and it’s by far the best movie experience I’ve ever had.
The bass and clarity is unmatched.
My first AMC movie that I saw with Dolby Cinema was Spider-Man far from home
Dolby Cinema have changed the world of movies.
Forever.
When you see a movie in here, you can never see a movie in a regular theater again.
You're right. It's just not the same in regular digital or IMAX. Dolby Cinema is an incredible movie experience.

My first experience at Dolby Cinema AMC, was Alita: Battle Angel. Watched it 3 times.
Megatron2000 I wish I could’ve watched it that movie in Dolby
Mine was Last Jedi.
Good movie. Watched on 4K Blu ray on my OLED tv and surround sound and it looked amazing!
I have really lost it with watching old theaters intro to relive the world we used to have

Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime was better, because it's all black and red.
While IMAX on the other hand, is all black and blue.
