Or i think it could also be on the oposite way 😂 like e.g. the people who know me really well can see that i like resting on my own etc. but when I am with my colleagues and other friends, i love talking to them and also i like meeting some new people, so when i have a flow they could think i am an extrovert😅 That may be complicated lol

Too true. I remember in college, I knew everyone and everyone knew me. I was fairly extroverted around them, but when lunch break came around, I hung around on my own. People must have thought I already had friends because of the way I acted around them. Instead, I spent my time walking around the town aimlessly for an hour, trying to avoid everyone. I didn't want to seem lonely, so I went far away until it was over to make it seem like I was busy. I did this every day I was there. Too nervous to ask if I could hang with them, but extroverted enough to talk to them. It's silly, but I'm not sure what to do or how to act when I'm not given instructions or tasks. The task *IS* my reason to talk to someone. Without that, I struggle since there isn't anything I can think of to say.

I always heard that having a more introverted friend than you turns you into an extrovert when they are in need. Quite true. I had anxiety as a kid/teen so it's a completely different issue BUT I'd talk everything for my cousin who wouldn't even speak to adults.
As an ambivert, this makes me feel seen.
Also, as an ambivert, we go super extroverted one day then refuse human contact in the next lol.

As an ambivert, one minute I’m the life of the party and the next, I’m hiding in the bathroom wondering how long until it’s socially acceptable to leave.

Sounds pretty introverted, you spend all that energy that one minute, then you're too exhausted to hang out anymore. The difference between intro and extro is where you get more energy from. Intro means you can feel energized on your own, while extro means you get it from outside your body, meaning from your environment. It's easier to understand it if you look at a nun meditating in a closed off room, then compare it to a monk meditating in the open out in the nature. The nun in this case feels more energized by their isolation meditation while the monk gets their energy from the nature around them.
If you don't feel like partying more after that one minute and then hang out in the bathroom to recharge, then you ain't necessarily gaining energy from your environment, unless you enjoy the smell of a toilet.

Sometimes i get confused as to if I am introverted or extroverted. I like spending time with friends, but at times I really need to recharge otherwise I get emotionally drained 😢
@@calebchris000introvert, in this context, doesn’t mean “recluse” or anything, it’s about what recharges you. You either recharge by being alone to spend time with people, or you recharge by spending time with people after being alone 😊 I love my friends, I’m often the loudest of the bunch, but it is NOT energising for me, it depletes me, but I “spend “my energy on it because it makes me happy. Hope that makes sense 😊
Yes! I joked this summer when I was involved in a play that I was becoming an extrovert :-) because I wasn’t feeling depleted like I usually do when I’m around people for too long. And the Director was like no this is filling your cup and not taking from it, that’s why you feel so energized. Because I love to do what I was doing. :-)

I can relate so much to the part about being perfectly boring, I mean balanced. But as an introvert that has to do some extrovert things due to work, it is like an extrovert switch that I can turn on when I need to, but it drains me soo much. And if people are observant, I'm sure they can notice that I am still a bit awkward in social settings. Because it takes so much of me to do small talk like a normal person. If it's up to me, I'd definitely prefer alone time vs hanging out with people. But I also understand we need to put ourselves out there and step out of our comfort zone to learn and grow. Indeed, I am an ENTJ that is barely more E than I and J than P. So am I really an ENTJ or a xNTx with the x’s representing the completely in betweeness of these two domains of personality 🤔 This would mean there are in fact 48 personalities if you account for every possibility of someone being directly in between in a domain of a personality!

We're ambiverts! We like to go out and be places! But only those specific places where we feel comfortable and/or are surrounded by other people who share the same interests.
Unless we feel like going somewhere new, in which case we'll do so without hesitation and have a great time. Or unless we're socially forced to go somewhere new, in which case we'll either love it or hate it, with 50% odds for each.

I was at a function for my husband (he performed with friends) and felt so introverted and didn't want to talk to anyone. But previously over the weekend I was chatting it up with my friends and had all sorts of energy at a small gathering.

I actually feel that my battery gets filled-up from social interactions (like a fuel tank), and then I need to spend that fuel by being alone for a couple of days (to use up that fuel before I can re-fill the tank again) ✌️
