    it’s a great build the only thing i would say with a little construct criticism is that keep in mind food knives and kitchen knives are usually quite thin about 3/16 in thick along the spine and down to almost a 0 degree edge it helps with slicing of food, but great job

    • @MakerHA
      @MakerHA  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes, without a doubt, kitchen knives must be extremely thin and light, otherwise they get very tired when using them for a longer time. 👍👍👍

      THE DEBA KNIFE IS SPECIFICALLY FOR FILLETING AND CUTTING FISH, THE THICKNESS OF THE SPINE IS BETWEEN 9 TO 4 MILLIMETERS DEPENDING ON ITS LENGTH.

    Is this DEBA knife a Multipurpose knife like the Paring knife?

    • @MakerHA
      @MakerHA  Před 10 měsíci

      It is more focused on cutting fish, but a knife is a knife, knowing how to use it can be used in several things 👍👍👍

    こんにちは😃
    初めてコメントしています。
    色々のナイフ作り上げを楽しみながら拝見しています。
    私は日本人で、趣味でナイフや包丁を作っていますが、焼き入れして焼き戻しをした後に、小さな筒に油のようなのを入れたのに、ナイフを入れてありますが、短いのと長いのでは何を入れているのでしょうか?
    よろしければ、その効能なども教えて頂けると幸いです😘

    Hi friend, you got a great job. May I ask, which steel type did you use?

    • @MakerHA

    BOM TRABALHO. POR SER UMA FACA DE AÇO ÚNICA POSSIBILITA TER BISEL DUPLO PARA QUE POSSA SER USADA PELA MÃO ESQUERDA OU DIREITA. MAS ENTENDO QUE VOCÊ PREFERE FAZER DA MANEIRA TRADICIONAL.

    • @MakerHA
      @MakerHA  Před 10 měsíci

      Sim resolvi faze-la tradicional, pois quando faço algo fora do tradicional as pessoas acabam criticando negativamente, dai resolvi seguir o padrão mesmo. Mas ela com um bisel duplo ficaria muito melhor 👍👍👍

    • @leatherface711
      @leatherface711 Před 11 měsíci +1

      it’s most likely 51-60 spring steel doing the clay wrap with the quench is called differential hardening and when it’s etched and polished it creates a two tone color in the steel

    It is a Deba shape knife. No layering, no middle steel just straight left wall, so if you say deba I say fake. Respect the traditions and learn.

  • @michaelintile7836
    @michaelintile7836 Před 6 měsíci

    I am sure you are a skilled craftsman but the shape of a knife does not make it a Japanese knife.
    Japanese kitchen knives have a core of very fine carbon steel and sides of soft iron, so therefore it is not a Japanese knife - sorry.
