I just recently discovered Gojira. The other night I had a dream where I was at work and in the back of the building was a sound booth where a guy was playing the drums. I stood there admiring his technique and talent. I had fallen asleep in my recliner listening to Gojira. He is a badass!
How the fuck can they be so damn good live.. Holy shit, they took a shit right over shitload of much more famous metal bands when it comes to live performance.

Mario Duplantier, best metal drummer currently, currently. I say again, currently, I know HAAKE, HOGLAN, ADLER, are probably overall better, but I say again, currently, Super Mario is god.
Marios drumming is more interesting than Haake's.. Can't say anything about Hoglan he's just beast and Adler will probably never get close to Marios speed with his feet
Haake's recent work on clockworks is amazing although i prefer gojira over meshuggah Haake is a level above in my book. Never loved Mario's kit sound overall but he is amazing and i guess its just a matter of taste. Also on the subject of current metal drummers lets not forget Mastodon's singing-song-writing drum monster Brann Dailor.
