- We were lucky enough to be invited to shakedown a beautifully restored Tiga SC81 Sports 2000 car last year at Silverstone. This then turned into an invitation to race it at the prestigious Silverstone Classic event in late August 2022. This video takes you through the trials and tribulations of what turned out to be an eventful but utterly fabulous meeting.

binky??? escargot???
Binky being worked on right now. Probably penultimate build episode in production.
@@BadObsessionMotorsport👀👀
@@BadObsessionMotorsportok so only 4 more years 🎉. Haha.
@@Grimm-Gaming Just 4 more years? Hey, Binky is not a quicky...
@@robertharris7027 4 years till the next video! Haha. 3 years of brackets and 1 year of tuning obviously
The humility of Bruce to be apologising to you that he doesn't want to run an engine that's about to blow up, legendary.
Fantastic stuff, glad to have you back chaps
Thank you!
Why can't all CZcams videos be done to this standard of production - good camerawork, clear audio, balance between voice and background music, bloody brilliant work as always you blokes!
Looks like a fun weekend out with the toys, the boys, and the family too.
Thank you very much.
Where's the funk though?
Because it's unbelievably difficult!
I know - I've made hundreds, and eversingle one is imperfect in one of the ways you just described, either because it was unavoidable or because I didn't realise till it was too late to change it.
I am not a hater nor do I judge or care about the video quality when BOM is concerned, but I do wish to say that this wasn't on par with the rest of the videos. The focus was mostly in the back, you could see the lenshood in some shots and the audio was unbalanced in some interviews. I know it's a live setting but it can be remedied in the future. The most perfect parts was adorable twins, maybe future champs :)
@@dennisbjones I bet if they pull off that Pinto valve cover, they will find all kinds of funk!
Over TEN years of sharing with us and I still get giddy when I see a new release. Thanks for the ride.
5 laps is better than no laps. That looked epic 👌
This was really cool, thanks for sharing! What a fantastic little car and it's a treat to be able to see it as in depth as we did. Wonderful restoration Bruce! The eventual problems just make it more of a race car, lol.
I started watching the channel when you started project Binky and have watched every episode since, as you have branched out into racing which has been awesome, great driving BTW.
The common factor is that you are a great movie maker in the way you make us feel we are there even for a few minutes!
Wow, thank you!
Imagine the bracketry in that bad boy. 🤤
Wait till Nick finds out we have an entire form of motorsports known as bracket racing here in the states. Boy will he be disappointed to find out it's just drag racing where you have a target time and can't go too fast or slow lest you break out of your bracket.
@@mikedrop4421 I was thinking about that and what his initial interpretation would be. "Wait, they literally race brackets?"
@@mikedrop4421 I mean, given he's done Rally stuff, he might enjoy a bit of it.
Missing a bracket that holds the oil pressure in.
Imagine how hard it was to keep Nick from adding one, or two, or ten.
Dirty trick, you know what we all thought when we got this notification. Good thing we all love anything you guys upload. 😁
Anything you want to send, I'll consume. THANKS SO MUCH for the hard work it takes to do this. Howdy from the east coast of that place Columbus accidentally found.
Good to see another video from “Bad Obsession Motorsport”, started watching when you first started on the Mini, ten years ago???. Will be able to see the final results of that wonderful obsession driving anytime soon????. Thanks for this video also.
Great to be taken along for the ride ... thoroughly enjoyable content.
Hey, nice T-shirt! Love the video and it's great to see a Kiwi motorsport legend making an appearance - it's been a while since I last heard Howden Ganley's name mentioned.
Love seeing you guys at the races, hopefully some in the dirt and trees soon. Thanks.
glad you are sharing quality content again guys. looking forward to more of it.
Glad to see you chaps again. Looks like great fun was had. We hope to see more from you two soon.
This was a very enjoyable video, thank you, hope you get another chance to drive it
what a Weekend that must have been!! yeah maybe didnt finish but looks like hell of alot fun and good times with familly an friends an best mates!! cant wait to see more in future
Awesome to see BOM is their natural (ish) habitat. As a fellow racer, I can agree and empathize. That's racing. Nice to see Richard laying it down and nailing good lines before the engine let up, and good call on shutting it down, bummer as it was. Keep it coming, gents, we miss you!
Cheers from Chicago,
Paul
"you going racing... with an owl? in the dark?" absolute classic Fast Show quote!
Thank you very much for taking the time to add subtitles during loud bits.
Really enjoyed your mid week surprise. Nice too see you chaps back.
Excellent. thanks for sharing.
Very entertaining, and lovely to see all your girls, Rich!👍🏻😁😁💜💜
What a treat, brilliant content as always lads!
Absolutely fantastic video, enjoyed every minute of it. All of these videos that show behind the scenes of a race day have been brilliant: More please!
Looked like plenty of fun. That car must've been a joy to restore and riot to drive.
Fantastic video as always, others have said it better than I could so I won't ramble on, but I cannot BELIEVE how big the twins have gotten!
You guys are living the dream! Sincerely appreciate every video!
This is a blast from the past. I looked after five SC80's and 81s and well as a Group C Tiga about 15yrs ago.
Absolutely splendid work guys!
Absolutely loved this, thank you BOM
What an excellent experience and a 'must do' event. Thnx for sharing.
Really enjoyed seeing you blokes having a great load of fun. Cheers!
Awesome...would love to be a spectator just to get to see all those wonderful cars. Thanks for bringing us all along with you!
Great video, and your little daughters coming along to watch and help is so cute!
Surely not a new video. Love it
Looking well gents, glad to see you!
'bout time for this video, you slackers!!! Seriously, great video. So good to see such cars racing, however they finish! Well done.
Hi there, good to see you alive and kicking.
Thank you for sharing!😊
Can't wait til my great grandkids are going to watch the final binky episode❤
fr
Brilliant...........and thank you Bruce
OK that's pretty awesome. Cool to see the program with the Service members.
Thanks for taking the time to video and share
Great video; very entertaining, with some really nice on-board camera footage. You both get extra-special Elli hugs for making me smile.🙂 Brace yourselves, boys - this is gonna get squishy...
Great event, great people, and the sort of cars that give me twitchy feet and that "dab of oppo" feeling.
Right, I'm off to the shed to riveting some ali together!
It's my birthday today and a BOM channel upload is the perfect present!
Nik's been at it again, I see. Binky's really changed - I wonder if he can still claim it's the same wheelbase? 😁
What a great advert for the Silverstone Classic.Used to watch these cars back in the early 80's -Brilliant.HSCC events are always good.edit-Prompted me to book for this coming event.
Great vid. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Fantastic stuff. Very nice 🎉
Lovely seeing the family enjoy race day with you
Great to see you both... Happy new year... and MORE plz...
Great episode! Looked like a lot of fun.
Amazing race car there, and awesome videography. As usual. Thanks for sharing, just gotta say it again.
What a stressful, expensive and hair-raising experience. I'm massively jealous. Prost, and looking forward to more on this project.
Epic video fellas. Gets me right in the racing mood. Me and the old man are taking his Caterham out on a track day at Cadwell in September. 250bhp Vauxhall redtop and slick tyres. Pray for dry weather!
Good to see you guys back the silvestone classic looks great I must go next year
Bloody amazing ❤
I worked in Motor Sport for 27 years starting in 1984 with a Lola T610 in the Thunder sports series...... So I remember a lot of these Car when they were new!!! Now they are Historic..... :-(( But I had a great life ended up working for Mcs in Woking.... Great vid Chaps.... And RIP Neil Brown... A real Gent and great supporter in the Paddock... :-))
Well done gentlemen. 👍 It's always nice to see you guys having fun.
Thanks 👍
I'm here for this
I'm so glad you got to do this and brought us along with you! I really enjoyed seeing you at the races in the City Car Cup (through CZcams) and would love to see you back at it again!
Thank you for watching.
@@BadObsessionMotorsport Anytime!
Yes, you are back❤
Another worth the wait video
Nice driving btw
That was fantastic, thank you. My son and I really enjoyed watching it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was seriously cool EP guys. Cool video, who ever did the edit. Bummer you didn't get to finish the race, but obviously the right call. So cool to watch these older cars at full noise.
Great video and great representation of the sport!
Omg What a Privilege.. So cool thx for sharing
Drivers have that universal hand gesture when describing how the car handles, how they raced with another car, how an accident happened, how fast it may be going... etc etc etc. 6:45
Great stuff as always, guys. What a thrill to drive a piece of auto racing history on a track like Silverstone, and to have good people around while you do it. Sorry the car wasn't able to finish the day, but it looked like a lot of fun regardless.
Trust you guys to be number 69... Great video. Glad to see you back again.
Looked like everyone had a fantastic time, mechanicals notwithstanding.
Cheers
Thank you BOM for another nugget! It's an all too rare treat with this level entertainment on youtube!
The only s2000 I remember seeing was at Road-America, at a Vintage Racing Event in the Late 90's was a BMW engine one. Knew a Couple of Guys That were running Formula Fords at that tyme as well, In SCCA Events. Vintage Racing is Great, & Remember to always Bring your Children & Grand-Children, So There can be a next Generation of Vintage Race Driver's & Crews.
So good to have some content from you guys again, always interesting, fun and welcome. When are we going to get some Binky content but I expect this is not the first time you've heard that.
You guys are the best!
Looks like a fantastic event guys. Pity about the end but that is racing. At least you had fun and finished with a smile :D
Amazing!
Wow. Great event. Great car. What an entirely amazing thing.
Such a cute family! Thanks for sharing. :)
Brilliant video!
Excellent!!
Always a good time on this channel 👍💪
love it, love it, love it - fun experience to be part of and to watch (and almost feel part of)
I just realised today that since the first episide of binky, i have left my career in IT, completed undergrad study, completed an intership as a paramedic, then got into and finished medical school, then finished medical internship and now working as a doc
It's been a while guys... haha
Was great to see you guys there :)
Thanks, always good to see a BOM video pop up. Very enjoyable, but still need my Binky fix.
Great, now I have Copacabana on replay in my head. Thanks lads.
That looked like the perfect opportunity for bracketry. A bracketunity!
Was great to see a bit from the guy who founded Tiga
Great vid really enjoyed it. fabulous cars and thats coming from a motorcycle enthusiast 😁
Sports 2000 was such a great formula back in the day and it got a lot of smaller manufacturers involved. The weakest thing was the Pinto engine as it was being asked to do things it wasn't designed for which is probably why it decided to chuck the oil everywhere and develop a misfire. It's a shame that it can't be revived as a modern series now using a proprietary engine (Mazda MX-5?) and the ability for blokes to build them in their garages at home rather than the big manufacturers come in with carbon fibre tubs etc.
Cheers chaps, splendid video despite the Pinto problems.
Gotta love the old F1 sounds in the end! :)
Super what a great video.
Always fun to watch my doppelganger on the track. Nicely done, Rich. Can't ask for a better pit crew, too.
That's a winning fun day out!
Bloody hell i can't believe you mentioned a bracket after i commented on it
