I'm not saying this for attention or anything of that sort I usually hide my military service and don't talk of it but I gotta say being former military with PTSD , his acting of cold, disconnection, overwhelming anxiety, fatigue, in a dream like state with an endless stare was incredible. He hit it on the head. I didn't think anyone one could recreate that but he nailed it. Incredible acting.
❤️❤️❤️
maybe its the editing more than the acting - and it for sure is at least both.
Bro... first time I've ever been able you relate to a character for real
Maybe he isn't acting.
being in the same shoes you're wearing, I agree, this was the most painfully accurate depiction of PTSD I've ever seen in my life
Joaquin Phoenix....
He is just always an actor, that is interesting to watch... no matter what the film..
Yeah waiting for joker wonder how much darker it will be than dark knight
@@moink789 Joaquin just put a smile on Heath Ledger's face 👌 5/5 ✨ must watch and unexpected. Only 8% of the film they show on joker's trailer.
Welcome to Joker
i agree
a. banks. Cause he’s wayward. It makes him interesting. He’s unconventionally attractive, which makes him intriguing. He’s a very good actor, can play the heartless psycho, but always has something human in him that makes the audience feel sorry for him.
Five years later, I think this is still Joaquin's best film so far. Absolutely blew me away! Joaquin is a national treasure.
must have been the only film of his that you’ve seen. This wasn’t even in his top 10.
I bet you call anything even remotely ok a "national treasure".
😂😂😂 ur corny af
Clay Pigeons
@@user-so5tj4cp8u His wide eyed kid performance in Clay Pigeons doesn't even come close. Great movie though!
Not every film that can be someone's favorite doesn't always have to be a blockbuster or well known .It is called having a personal favorite. I liked this movie too, but my favorite of his is The Master. Not a blockbuster either but the quality IMO was exceptional.
i think this movie touched me more than the joker. The funeral scene... i don't recall crying that hard ever during a movie.
The water burial scene is like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s overwhelming. Johnny Greenwood’s soundtrack really puts it over the top.
same for me, and lake scene is very powerful experience, it almost recalls some personal grieving
@@RustinChole watched this about a month ago and THAT scene is my favorite underwater shot ever. I think I started crying from it
"touched" lol. Was that intentional?
The joker is based on a made up character,
With that said.. I was deeply moved by Joaquins Joker. As someone who has been bullied..i think you have to been through it to actually connect with his Joker. I'm not a joker batman fan but this was actually good
I heard this movie didn't have a script, they just filmed Joaquin Phoenix daily routine and edited it all together.
WHATEVER
💀 lmao. He really likes the green jelly beans
So pretty much an average day in the life of Joaquin Phoenix.
He out there saving little girls from pedophiles on a dayly basis.
A regular Tuesday for him yeah
I'm a Joaquin Phoenix fan but yet another let down. Worst then Joker if you can believe it. Random seans and smoking.bs
This movie is about you
You know its one of them strange movies. Like Drive, Hannah, Spring breakers etc... You see the trailer and say "ok, action movie, lets watch it!" And then it turns out to be a way deeper experience. 10/10 gonna watch it again
Seriously? Have fun being bored out of your mind again.

Not everyone enjoys watching shitty Marvel movies over and over and over. Films like these give unique experiences and they're made for audiences who know and enjoy cinema as an art form... Not just some shitty stimulus to put on your screen while you're thinking about something else and having everything instantly spoonfed to you. If you were bored by Drive, Hanna, and Spring Breakers, you have a very low attention span. Those movies aren't even "artsy" except for maybe Drive, which is still a film you can show to the average person who isn't a film buff, and have them enjoy it. "Boring" and "bad" are different. I doubt anyone would think Spring Breakers was boring, but I'm sure there's plenty who hated it.
Nothing in this looks like hannah
I'm not a marvel fanboy....but I laughed at the end of this movie because of the time I wasted watching it
nothing about this says action movie though
"It's okay Joe. It's okay."
Breaks your heart.
STOP !!!!!!!.................................HAMMER TIME
Hahaha I give you two likes 👍👍
LOL
jajajajajajaja good one
Yes!
This is the official sequel to Phoenix's 2010 movie "i'm still here."
Incubus187 I wonder how many ppl actually believed this lol
Incubus187 dude when IMDb sent me a notification for this, I thought it was a sequel to that!!! I was tryna figure out how they were going to do that...but really this really looks 10x better than that lame faux-doc
Incubus187 the short answer... Yes
@@yodasippin1317 Ngl I thought the 2 were related when I first found out about YWNRH
Incubus187 haha, but truly this is his best work , it’s incredible. I mean good lord
cinematography: GORGEOUS
sound editing: INCREDIBLE
acting: SPECTACULAR
THIS MOVIE IS A MASTERPIECE!
plot: boring. too long for a story that could be done in no more than 30 mins
No it's not
This film was released a few months ago in Europe, and let me just say it was easily the best film I saw last year. The trailer implies there’s more action than there actually is, but it’s a beautiful, violent poem of a film.
And it’s short. In a world filled with overstuffed 3 hour action movies, finally something that gets to the point.
yeah ive downloaded it yesterday but yet to watch it
Where did you download it from ? Any suggestions where I can find it?
www2.putlockers.plus/
rarbg.to/torrent/3apfhgs
+Francis Cunnane its in fmovies.is just keep closing the ads once you hit play
just watched it yesterday, and it really blew me away. the soundtrack, plot and acting is nothing like i've ever seen. i had chills throughout the entire movie. this is by far joaquin's best film, next to beau is afraid, joker and her.
beau is a bit of a question mark I feel.
man this movie was a trip , don't go expecting it's a full action movie , or Equilzer with a hammer
ok i will watch it
I really Equalizer BTW. Thought it was gonna be a full action movie, but actually had a lot of character and depth compared to how it couldve gone. Not as much as this though.
It blew my mind when I watched it really baked a few times
The scene where he's walking through the hallway near the end was dope af
I never enjoyed seeing a man hitting another ....something with a hammer as much as in this movie
This film makes you question every scene. Nothing is delivered directly to the viewer. You will find yourself wondering what is real or simply imagined. When the film ends you sit in your chair and piece the experience together as best you can. Brilliant style of directing in my opinion. Of course Joaquin Phoenix takes the main stage, as his role suits him perfectly as a dramatic actor.
Joaquin Phoenix, Jonny Greenwood, Lynn Ramsay -- there's not much else to say
This movie is actually very similar to the Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie. You could watch them back-to-back and they’d flow into each other pretty well.
That’s what I thought when I watched his for the first time last night. I loved this film too.
Not really. Very different characters
Mak7even Lol they’re very different. Shows how versatile Phoenix is as an actor.
You mean taxi driver ?
They are different but if you can imagine Joe dissociating and imagining himself as the joker it would work well
Trailer trailers need to die
StorminAOE3 I concur lol
Lol I keep wondering why they have a recap of the trailer at the start....who decided this was a good thing? Do we all have that low of an attention span these days?
The less they can train you to think for yourself, the shorter/lower your attention span goes. It's very important to influence the masses.
I think it's enough to avoid them
Daren Redman because people kept skipping the youtube ads. with the mini trailers, even if you skip you get the title in your brain
I watched this last night... Still trying to recover. Phoenix, before Arthur Fleck, surpassed himself. I love this awesome actor. 💖
It's what needs to happen to every person who hurts another... especially a child. 😡
Dang, never knew Johnny Cash was so violent
Haha. Just listen to the murder album.
Well, he killed Maximus.
The only thing he killed was his future.
Cash shot a man in reno just to watch him die
@@adeelmukhtarh Well, what do you expect from a boy named Sue???
One of those films that blows your mind and is even better the 2nd time you watch it.
1:31 "Phoenix's best work" - 2019: "Well, yes! But actually, no!"
Phoenix's best work might as well be every movie he does at this point. Gladiator, Walk The Line, Her, Joker, You were never really here, The Master. The man is one of the best actors of our time.
His best work's actually in the 2012 the master
People that saying Phoenix best work is the Joker need to watch more movies
every work is his best work
@@faust3772 I personally loved his performance in Her, but let's be fair - "How about another joke, murray?" is one of the best scenes ever made, perfectly acted, shoking. I keep coming back to this scene after almost half a year. That means something.
This looks so good ! I hope Phoenix is nominated, it looks like that type of material.
But now that I think about it, if it’s release is in February (2018) than it may be forgotten by the academy
Here after watching Joker :)
And it has young Bruce Wayne in it as well.
Same XD
Intense thriller....not for everyone...i loved it though...Joaquin Phoenix was astonishing as usual...can't wait to see him as Joker.
well what do you think of Joker?
@@lola9425 i think well deserved oscar.
@@vengateshvegetio3370 i do too
I think I know whats going on here: The people who liked the movie, watched it differently. Going into watching it someone told me to try and watch it from the point of view of the charecter, try to get the feel of the mental state. This doesn`t realy "tell a story"- this whole thing shows you what mentall illenss looks and feels like. So if you want to see "taxi driver"- this isn`t it. If you want to see "A guy shooting up the PEDOS"- not it either. This is about the mind of a man so damaged he has to
*****Spolier***** Pull out his own teeth to feel something.
If this didn`t do anything to you? I`m jealous of you. Because this was triggering AF. And so real.

This movie look like an 'ordinary' thriller but I can tell you it's not.
The ending really makes you think. Everything is not what it seems, it's kind of a weird movie tbh.
The trailer just doesn't do it any justice and makes it seem like a completely different movie.
yeah i really dont understand the ending
They ran out of film and it randomly ended. It doesnt making you think. Thats what theyre hoping you think, ha. "They'll write their own ending!"
these days most of the movies are coming open ended
it happens alot with art house movies. The recent one that did that was It Comes at night.
FYI
I feel like this trailer just showed everything
2010 - I'm still here, 2018 - You were never really here. Which one is it Joaquin? ;p
I love the fact that Joaquin Phoenix can rock the dad bod!
oh it's joaquin phoenix the best actor. man it's 2019 i'm late i need to watch this movie.
Coldest and deepest memories of pain , still you have to try to live. Try to Forget the haunting past and smile for the next day. While those memory will never stop coming after you but you gotta deal. Life is hard and strange. Happiness is ot the ultimate thing dealing with everything untill the last breath is....
The ending still gets me to this day
I really hope the joker (which I LOVED) brings more attention to films like this, “he won’t get far on foot,” “The Sisters Brothers,” “Her,” “The Master.” “inherent Vice”...anything 2012 or later is just staggering work.
Woah this Movie just showed up on Netflix and I'm a HUGE Joaquin Phoenix fan and tbh I was struck to see this on Netflix more his movies should be on there man.
Can't wait to watch it this weekend. 😊💙
One of the best films I've seen in recent years.
Amazon Studios are making some amazing movies rn ...
I may be wrong about this one, but most of teh movies Amazon Studios and Netflix are "making" have already been made and are picked up on the festival circuit.
Amazon are just distributing it.
It's actually a British Film 4 production.
This movie is great, and Phoenix is amazing. However, this trailer is cancer and it spoils basically the whole movie.
Not really... I watched this trailer before the movie and everything was surprising. You see the trailer, he kills some people. Okay? How is that a spoiler?
Thanks, I always go through the comments of a trailer hoping to find a comment like this
i'm pretty sure you didn't even understand the movie.
Who's here after the Joker?
How.. Are they use makeup effect for this movie to make him look fat?
He just fat, He's method actor.
dragonknightttt i guess i am technically, but i saw this the second it dropped and i was so happy to find out he would be the joker, this film is truly his magnum opus , joker might beat it, but this is a modern day taxi driver, it’s a surreal masterpiece , it’s everything a film should be but is scared of being, it really goes there and doesn’t come back or let up for a second
@@benconnor3206 Dude, thank you!! Now I must see this film like right now. I just watched Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy for the first time after hearing about the similarities among the Scorsese film's Joker also has. I even watched Falling Down for the first time.
The thing I love about these types of psychological films is how well they dive into the psyche of the character and makes you feel for them no matter how sick they are.
Having just finished Falling Down, I was hoping for another movie that goes those same lengths in storytelling. I couldn't find an movies. Thanks pal.
Jazlan Miasara he's not really fat if you watch the full movie he looked pretty built
I can't wait to see this! It makes me think of "The Professional" movie. I think it's gunna be BOSS.
This was a hidden gem.
This is The Best version of Joaquin....i mean he is killing this role.... Great Cinematic experience... Awesome Movie... !!!
Oscar nomination for Phoenix
Dear Amazon: More of this, please.
Totally robbed of an Oscar "Gladiator" best supporting actor.
SteelBustingBiker not really, he should have never been nominated for any award, so he's overrated
Just watched this before I see Joker tonight.. Amazing movie!
Even the equalizer picked his tool weapons from the supermarket.
APRIL 6??!!
Damn guys here in France we can see him since November 8th in theaters
Heisenberg Snake really? This movie?
yup in Denmark also
Spain as well. Highly recommend it.
APRIL IN HONG KONG ,2 time only
In America we can see it for free at this point. So people watch the trailer to see if they should choose this free movie to watch. It definitely looks Oldboy/The Professional...........
I saw the film, I can’t figure out which is scarier, either a Horror film, or this. Great film to say though.
One of the best films of the decade. And of course Cannes gets it right. The Academy doesn't. Typical.
Well, the senator(?) was right, he is brutal.
when i read the novel ... SPOILERS AHEAD the girls father sold her to the mafia
@Kim Joana i wouldn't call it a horror movie.
Yeah, he was breathing so hard the whole movie.
WOW!! this was incredibly powerful and disturbing!
Why do you feel it was disturbing?
First time seeing this trailer. I can’t wait, this had me thinking about man on fire
These trailers show the entire movie these days. Even though it’s out of order I still think they give too much away. Besides that just watched and gotta say that was interesting, disturbing and fascinating all at the same time. Joaquin characters is superb and man does he nail the role
This might be his most badass look.
I just watched this movie and it was brutal, but really good. It was a good movie and I highly recommend it.
Amazon movies > Netflix movies every day. Joaquin Phoenix, C. Bale, Michael Pena are some my top favorite actors currently.
Ps. Everyone should watch Pena in End of Watch
Honestly, it's a great film, psychologically intense, disturbingly vicious and the story's twist and turns are sharp but stay on course.
I love. Joaquin it is a. Powerful movie. I bought. On dvd. On. June 6 2019. He should. Win. A. Oscar. For. This. Movie. He id. My favorire. Actor
What is wrong with you
This is one of the best movies I have seen in 20 years.
this movie is dark, somber, intense and so heartbreaking it made me cry. phenomenal acting by joaquin phoenix, by the way (as usual).
This gave me OldBoy vibes and not the American remake ones.
This film is worth watching. Joaquin is great as always but the story line will grab your attention from the very start. Really did enjoy it
Can you just introduce me as JOE ? ;)
Love seeing Joaquin bulked up and quietly dangerous.
this trailer is just like a "previously on blank"-style recap of the movie in order of events lol
Yes, very spoilery.
Unrelated but does anybody know what music they used at the end of every Amazon Studios trailers?
Brilliant film... I’m still mulling it over 24 hours later
His acting in this is beyond what words can explain, but wtf was this movie tho. It felt like 50% of something was missing - weird plot, weird story, weird ending
a deep film with great actors.
"The cops are involved" truth being told
Literally just got done watching this movie. It was pretty weird... but the song at the end was pretty cool....
"If I knew you were coming I would have baked a cake, baked a cake" yea... That song.
Yo... someone needs to check on Jacquin Phoenix between this and The Joker... my man needs to sit down. He's too good of an actor.
This is one of those kinds of movies that is brutal and for that reason not always entertaining but mesmerizing. It is, in it's essence, about a man doing the right thing at any cost, at possibly his own peril but doing something because it is the moral thing to do. That morality happens to include dolling out punishment and trying to make a little small fraction of the evil that exists in the world extinct. As brutal as this movie is, it is not a brutal as the human trafficking that results in the destruction of young girls lives every single day of every single year for decades and that realization or reminder triggered by this movie is what really makes an impact.
Phoenix is perfect for that kind of roles. A sad sad film. I enjoyed it. Two facts: 9/10 of the cars in this film are european or japanese. Also Questlove make special guest.
Rumor has it Joaquin Phoenix may be playing as the next Joker...
Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor special with drama movies .... i like this movie
amo a joaquin phoenix
Why does everyone compare half of his films to taxi driver I swear
Everyone compare every film with a lonely man in it to taxi driver
Ghohn Is taxi driver a good movie?
B I K that’s true
Mohsen Eb yea man it’s a really good movie it starts slow but give it time it eases on to you trust me
ಠ_ಠ ➊ it’s good man just not everyone’s cup of tea
Lynne Ramsey should direct the next Lisbeth Salander picture.
Now that's what I call a super hero movie!
Awesome movie where you have to think for yourself and all the answers aren't handed to you, like most of today's mainstream films
5 years old!
Joaquin Phoenix makes an incredible comeback after being out of the spotlight for so long
Think of it like a modern version of 'Taxi Driver'
Director Lynne Ramsay helms a vigilante story about two abused and tortured souls
This is the story of a man feeling all used up and reaches his breaking point to give up
Yet maybe he can actually save someone as well as himself
This is extremely violent but stylish
Phoenix gives a surefire performance that lands him back on top perfectly blending physical and psychological pain
Even a lost soul can be found again, blood dries and bruises fade but the emotional toll will always remain, the violence of the human condition can hurt way more, do we go on or just end things immediately?
This truly feels like a throwback to crime/noir movies of the 1970s with a deeper underlying of purpose and the princess of healing
Phoenix is spectacular here thanks to Ramsay's carefully crafted directing
It’s certainly not a comeback he didn’t go anywhere. This film was nothing special at all. A very over indulgent director that could have cut half the movie out, because it’s just long drawn out shots of the camera on Phoenix doing mundane things. It’s a weak wanna be film trying to be taxi driver that fails. A great actor can’t save a boring rehashed script where you really don’t care what happens to the main character anyway. Drive even did it much better as far as the loner anti hero goes, it’s more worth someone’s time.
Absolutely brilliant film.
If you like this, watch We Need To Talk About Kevin, another brilliant film.
super good. watch it.
Sup
It was an excellent film. Really worth waching.
Looks good.
Also, was that longbourne from P&P 2005 at the end? 0.o
Gotta say I find this a very impressive trailer. Really gets my hyped up even though it doesn't show a lot. This is how a good trailer should be directors and movie studios, take notes.
Why did they get rid of the music from the other trailer?
This film is amazing. You notice more details every time that you watch it, not just your typical action/thriller thing.
It is the only film I have watched at the cinema three times and every time there was small detail that I had previously missed
The Jeffrey Epstein story
That is a genius statement! Lol
I've watched this 3 yrs ago. All I can say is that this movie for me is quite brutal even with the brutal scenes not being shown in the camera. I did remember reading that the director really cut out the brutal scenes from this movie especially the killing part and still feel the brutality from it.
The trailer has all the dialogues
This movie looks awesome!
the best actor ever.
LOVED IT!
good movie, the cinematography and sound alone are worth watching it for.
IM STILL HERE
