It's pretty easy to earn the hatred of Darth Vader. But an entire unit within the Empire earning his hatred? That's surprising but not surprising at the same time.
Trying to kill Vader is like trying to kill Rasputin, you might do it, but it will cost you everything.
I love how Storm Commandos are basically the Green Berets of the Empire. They caused chaos on worlds and specialized in hunting rebels, and this is quite similar to US Army Special Forces.
They more likely than not trained other units to hunt down “rebels” and “terrorists” and led uprisings on worlds that were against the Empire.
They will always be my favorite elite unit besides Royal Guards in the Empire.
Actually, given George Lucas intended the Galactic Empire to be symbolic for the Third Reich, one could assume the Storm Commandos to be equivalents of the SS- notice the outfit's similarities, too: black, red bands wrapped around the arms, obviously more fashionable suits than common soldiers, a small elite spec-ops group.
@@BorgztheDutchCyborg That was George's idea but the SW expanded beyond it. For example the Death Troopers are inspired by Navy SEALs.
Probably same amount of war crimes and drug dealing as US Special Forces too
@@BorgztheDutchCyborg They are probably more like the Brandenburgers. Lol
@@BorgztheDutchCyborgThe SS evolved from Nazi paramilitary bodyguards to become a paralel Army in the Wehrmacht, the Waffen SS.
(Wehrmacht were Germany Armed Forces, not only the Army (Heer).
The SS as a whole was not an Special Operation Force, but they had Spec Ops units (Jagdvërbande,Sondervërbande) commanded by Otto Skorzeny
The Ironic thing was, Admiral Tarkin Betray the Empire partly due to Love... Which The same Reason Anakin did to led Him became Vader... Now he taste the same medicine...
The Imperial Escort Carrier and TIE Hunter are two of the coolest ships ever created for Star Wars. That we've barely seen them (if at all) outside of the _Rogue Squadron III_ video game, even in the old Expanded Universe, is Star Wars blasphemy.
I love those ships with a passion, I wish we got the Tie Hunter in Rebels instead of the Defender.
@@maxchen9482 The TIE Hunter would make more sense in the post Battle of Endor era, as would the Escort Carrier and Storm Commandos.
Also, I hated _Star Wars: Rebels._ Better if the TIE Hunter makes an appearance in _The Mandalorian._
I was hoping to see a lot of tie variations in Squadrons…SIGH.
@@JeanLucCaptain Just as well that _Squadrons_ is a garbage game. The story and characters are boring, no 3rd person view even in PvE, only 10 playable starfighters and a ton of useless cosmetics.
If they ever make another Star Wars flying game, I hope it's less like _Star Wars: Squadrons_ and more like _Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown,_ which gives you more freedom in how you want to play, tons of free aircraft skins that you can actually see, and more than five times the playable aircraft of _Squadrons..._ and all this accomplished with a smaller budget and without the brand recognition of Star Wars.
I always replayed that mission just to see them
This is my favorite Darth Vader Legends story. Unfortunately, it seems… ‘cursed’ to either have a number of details left out when discussed or to be misinterpreted altogether. Though in this case, it seems to be a bit of both. For example, Darth Vader got angry enough to break free of his restrains because he saw what appeared to be Padmé’s ghost. In his anger, he drove her away, only to want her to come back right after. Vader beat the shit out of Tarkin, demanding to know where his wife was. You can even see him going back and forth between blue eyes and the burning orange in that part of the story. Vader tore down the building in despair, hoping to take his own life, only to wake up alive so robotic limbs could be painfully reattached to his body. This was the closest he ever got to turning back to the Light before Luke comes along. And they tried turning Vader to their cause, not to use him, but so they can help him. Their ‘queen’ was actually very compassionate, hoping to help ease Vader’s pain.
Demanding*
@@moderndemon84 Thanks. It was so late when I wrote this comment that idk if it was autocorrect kicking in or what.
I read the comic and it was actually Captain Shale who got beaten up by Vader.
@@oriongear2499 That’s right
She used Vader to murder her rivals lmao, such compassion.
To be honest attempting to kill vader is not a smart move, even if they did succeed the empire would probably be aware in who was last with vader and hunt them down to either interrogate or execute, plus vader is second to the emperor they should of expected that he would be that powerful for a reason unless this was early on before when the imperial didn't like vader and thought of him poorly.
(So from the replies I am now aware that palpatine probably wouldn't care about what happened to vader, thank you for your points and comments)
if they had succeeded, palpatine would've done nothing about it lol, a sith being defeated by mere troopers is too embarrassing and it would've proven vader's weakness as a sith
Ah yes hunt down the crazy bunch of lunatics who thought it was good idea to kill Darth Vader, and then succeeded.
"should of" lol
When people say "should of:" 🤮🤮
It's not like Vader would ever allow himself to get even slightly close to being defeated by some edgy Stormtroopers.
This defiantly added to Vader's paranoia, but it also no doubtable added to other parts of his character: For one during this mission, he kept having visions of Padme who told him how he had killed her and was no longer the good man she fell in love with, and seeing Garoche and Saro reminded him of what he had lost, which is why he brought the entire building down on them all, himself including, he was partially hoping this would kill him and put him out of his misery, but like Sion before him Vader was too strong in the Dark Side so he survived, even if he wants to get killed he can't because he's too angry and strong to go down.
As the Ninth Sister once pointed out, Vader is like an animal in someways, he's constantly looking for people to kill while secretly hoping one day someone will finally kill him and end his suffering, but that suffering makes him angry which makes him even stronger which makes it hard for him to die despite his own attempts and the attempts of others. He's just got too much anger for it to work.
And that anger not only comes from anger towards himself for what he has become, but anger towards the Emperor who he fully knows is just using him and that he is no more than a slave to the Emperor, just like Shale said, and he has no one else in the Empire he can trust because everyone either hates him or fears him, so they will all turn on him if they have to so his anger only grows from the lack of anyone he can truly trust.
Of course, nothing is invincible, and even wild animals can be put down.
@@michaelandreipalon359 yes, but at his strongest with the cybernetics, Vader was like a wild, rabid animal that had been given five pounds of crack
@@miceltusav88 Vader is like a Florida Man om Bathsalts and Cocaine. To insain to live but to angry to die.
@@michaelandreipalon359 True, but it did still take 24 years and a lot of effort to finally defeat Vader.
Another reasons why Vader prefered Clone Troopers.
Seeing storm commandos be canonized again makes me want the RA specforce to return.
Like the Bothan Spies?
@@wer4599 specforce as in their special units for different occasions. Trained in harsh biomes.
@@neofulcrum5013 They are Canon.
@@moderndemon84 not quite. Some of the more specialized units like the marines and infiltrators aren’t canon
I love the design of RA specforce.
Man wish we could get an Imperial Commando game were you play as these guys fighting, Sepratist holdouts, pirates and rebels.
Yea...would be nice.
That would be sick
Man, wristblading enemy rebels would be... visceral, to say the least.
Good thing ImpComm helmets can scrub the red blood away.
@@davidordaz5251 then you get wasted by classic Clone Wars era commandos.
@@merafirewing6591 Nope, Republic Commandos are badass tactical masterminds, but the Storm Commandos are just at another level
Let’s be honest no elite fighting force in the Galaxy could come close in potentially killing Darth Vader unless they were going to literally burn a entire planet down, maybe that may not be enough to bring him down. Darth Vader had no rival until his son rose to challenge him in the second Death Star, and the Imperial Armed Forces couldn’t hope to kill Vader without some serious support.
Well, his apprentice, Galen Marek, could have killed Vader, and Palpatine as well, but he decided to cover the escape of what became Alliance High Command instead.
@@JohnGeorgeBauerBuis Galen Marek for one isn't canon and two, is heavily weakened in the novelization.
The 501st could potentially turn on him order 66 style and I think even vader would have a very hard time getting out of that alive.
@@JeanLucCaptain I don't think so. Darth Vader was able to defeat an entire army of rebels and was even able to take down starfighters.
Lukes power was the horse shoe opposite of sideous'. Where as siddons manipulated people against eachother, Luke used honesty and pleading to persuade aid. Essentially whatever side the chosen one was on instantly won at great cost to himself straight after
Fun Fact: I've read that comic just a few hours ago.
"Darth Vader and the Lost Command" is quite a good read. But just a one thing: the priestess' name was Saro. Still, a great video and nice wrapup to this story.
Gotta love those comics. Didn't even leave loose ends, compared to the Rebellion, Legacy, and Dawn of the Jedi comics, which is nice.
Vader always looks so derpy without his mask. Like I know that he is a human and what he looks like under the mask but seeing him unmasked but still in his armor just looks really weird and less threatening.
Still better than his edgy grandson lol
I think he should be more screwed up without the suit, like Lord Starkiller.

I remember reading these comics from my school library years back. I really enjoyed them especially the whole mutiny against Vader plot which had me hooked👍
Your school library was cool af if it had sw comics
@@aonstability5428
Oh definitely. It had Marvel, DC, and a few Manga books in both middle and high school. It’s what I liked about it
the only troopers besides the 501st that Vader seems to respect are the deathtroopers. Lethal, don't talk much and are always follow orders. Stormcommandos are good but I think they'd lose
When you mentioned that they were the best in the imperial army I thought: the few soldiers who were able to hit the target more than twice.
If their armor could deflect light, wouldn't that make it bulletproof outside of slugthrowers?
Blasters aren't light it's ignited gas
Plasma isn’t just light, it a crazier form of gas, with atoms and particles. Blaster bolts would still go through the armor.
@@TeenWithACarrotIDK Blasters are different to plasma though I think but there are actual plasma weapons in Star Wars I know the B3 battledroid has one and the Umbarans also had plasma weapons
@@zacharyweaver276 If I remember correctly, Blaster Bolts are Ionized Gas rather than Plasma. The color of the bolt is determined by the type of gas.
@@kaimagnus5760 Exactly. There's a difference but Star Wars does have plasma weapons other than light sabers
Imperial Storm Commandos are epic
Look epic as well.

Sometimes you forget that Darth Vader is essentially a telekinetic chicken nugget with asthma
It's amazing how many people in the empire thought they could kill Darth Vader.

Wow great video!
The killed the last of the 501st 😔. Rest in peace brothers. Your duties are fulfilled
I totally believe that added to his paranoia...
It is inevitable, every form of military that has ever been successful relies upon a minimum of three types of soldiers... those that follow orders, those that issue orders, and those that do what neither of the first two are able to accomplish independently. Sooner or later a hybrid of the first two, personified by the third type, is going to exercise their ability/authority to issue their own orders... this autonomy makes them extremely dangerous, but the autonomous adapt... they don't conform (that's what makes them so successful, and dangerous).
Ngl, the Storm Commandos look cool.
Captain America meets battle droids in the clone wars and says "I am Steve Rogers."
Droids reply: "Roger Roger."
Hope you do a video on the Imperial Navy Commandos they are rarely talked about just recently learned about them from Empire at War Battlefront Commander.
With Garoche Tarkin in mind, can you please take about "white sheep" in otherwise "evil" families in Star Wars? Queen Galia of Onderon is another example.
Great vid as usual
Interesting video, great job! 👍
I wish there were videos like this for Czerka
Darth Vader FEARED the Senate.
Vader hated quite a lot of people, most of all himself
About the storm commandos on Corellia - let's not forget that Weir did capture Ten Numb and torture him brutally to death.
R.I.P. to Commander Voca.
Sounds similar to when the Original Inferno Squad defected to the Rebellion cause... Cuz otherwise CAN'T see the young Tarkin, the Preistest, an their unit surviving too long even in the event they DID win. Just think of how pissed Sideous woulda been??? Quite a feat getting all those Commandos to turn though, enough to threaten a whole Legion of counter parts.. though makes me wonder if these were the ones loyal and defecting with their CO for various reasons and that there used to be some or maybe alot more an these guys took them all out for being Imperial an Vader loyal for security in their betrayal and multiple trap and assassination attempts
If Garoche simply ran away with the Priestess, none of these messes will ever happened. I know, I know. Grand Moff Tarkin is going to be mad. But hey, he and his wife do not need to worry about that anymore when Darth Vader's son blew up the first Death Star.
Also, question to the team of Geetsly's: What do you guys think of the videos and the comments across the Internet that said the Empire did nothing wrong and/or that the Empire are the true good guys while also calling the Rebels out as the terrorists who wanted to revive a corrupted and ineffective government that is known as the Republic?
The Atoans would still be subjugated and Palapatine would not led a fairly high ranking imperial officer's defection go unpunished, the empire was built on fear and strength it could not be seen to look weak and be unable to maintain its troops' loyalty. So both the officer and the priestess would likely be killed.
@@silverdeathgamer2907 New plan. Tarkin's son can simply use his marriage with the Priestess as a way of absorbing the Atoans into the Empire willingly with both him and his wife proclaimed as the rulers of the Atoans.
I like the Rebel Strike (And zBattlefront Renegade squadron) helmet
That's a good one coach.
It's weird seeing Vader telling the ones behind him to get down, as he proceeds to facetank the explosion
Man, they got all the cool toys.
1:46 "For Covid operations" is what I hear, lol
The storm commandos has some BALLS
Don’t forget Victor Strang (The guy commanded the conquerer) was also a storm commando 😉.
Always loved the storm commandos
Some might say the yuuzhan vong would have very conflicting emotions about vader.
Love it
3:31, the same Captain Sarkli that emperor palpatine contacts at the end of the force unleashed 2 dlc to destroy you ?
I can’t stop laughing at Vader, 5:00
Sweet 👍
When you're so early the video doesn't show up in the creator's videos
When in doubt, use the Rampage tactic. Drop da house
Can we get more stories about THE ACTUAL BADDASS STORMTROOPERS and imperial army?
10:23 man I was confused as heck hahaha 😂 I thought Grand Moff Tarkin betrayed the empire which is completely impossible LOL 😂 but it was actually his son admiral tarkin, damn admiral Tarkin was an idiot.
yessir new video
I am not sure if the rest of the commando who join the betray think the same thing about they are treated like slaves rather then soldiers...
If that was the case, their cause were rather Nobel to be honest...
There's the swath. Had me worried for a minute
This begs the question: Were the early Storm Commandos remnants of Clone Commandos? Because I know a lot of Clone Commandos like Delta Squad did missions for Sidious hunting down Jedi, Separatist remnants and Rebels up until the time of ANH/TESB.
Nope, the Clone Commandos are too old during this time.
@@haroldcruz8550 I'm talking about 19 BBY - about the time of ANH. I'm sure there'd still be Commandos and ARCs still on active duty by that time. They'd definitely be retired and/or dead by the time of TESB/ROTJ though.
Are storm commandos the predecessors to republic commandos? Were there any clone commandos serving as storm commandos, maybe in the early years of the empire. Also are there any notable differences between death troopers and storm commandos, there descriptions seem to overlap a good deal.
The Empire: exists
Shail: detonate it
That bastard Vader's plot armor is just ridiculous.

They were so close.
BRB kitbashing my guard kill team into storm commandos
How would they be part of the Army when the Stormtrooper Corps is a separate branch?
Lets try kill the 2nd strongest space wizard in exsistance with a couple dudes and some explosives seems like a kinda bad plan to me.
Very easy to earn Darth Vader's hatred. Trying to kill him well make him angrier, and next thing you know someone's getting choked out.
If Tarkin and the Priestess had kept their heads low, they could have disappeared and survived…
Storm Commandos... an elite unit, lethally efficient with damn near any weapon on hand, and numerous things that can easily be weaponized. (But they still can't shoot for $#!t with E-11s. 😆 ) That last bit's meant as a joke, so save your conniption fits.
I wonder how they compared to the death troopers
11:54 Wait, so it was just likely he hated them not actually stated he did?
12:05 so...the short story is, he was upset he was betrayed; hmm.
Lotta cool stuff to bad they can't hit the broad side of a barn with any of it.
Which comics contains this story? Thanks.
woah
How long did he not have his helmet on? I thought he needed it to survive. Otherwise why have it at all?
I mean it only confirmed he could be order 66s like any other force user .
How did they fair against the Vong?
I have the comic of the storm commandos trying to kill Vader!
Why haven't they made Imperial Commando yet?
Imperial commandos are not the same as storm commandos. the Imperial Commandos were mostly former republic commandos and predate the rebelion
Darth Vader was a lot of things but I wouldn't say he was paranoid.
The empire backstabs each other on a weekly basis
I'm pretty sure it's worse than the alpha legion from WH40k
Woah I got here first how did that happen?
i think they made him paranoid but that is the way of the sith to be honest.
Geetslys did you comment the giveaway message? Please respond
It’s because they could fight in sandstorms
This begs the question, stormcommando vs deathtrooper? Who y’all got?
Ima go ahead and say stormcommando since they were an actual elite commando unit in the imperial army whereas death troopers were just super heavily armed bodyguards Krennic and a few other imperial officers used. Both of them are badass tho
@@NighTMare-gv8gz that is a good point, personally I would go with the death troopers as they seem much more heavily armoured, and working in much smaller elite groups probably suggests they’re more specialized combatants, opposed to the storm commandos larger platoon groups. But can’t help with agreeing both are super cool!
You can't really compare them since Storm Commandos are special forces commandos trained in sabotage, assasination and destruction. The Death Troopers are elite bodyguards deployed to protect Imperial officers. They have different purposes
As Vader he hated everyone.
I feel like he would have a hatred for bombs I mean he had a bomb explode I. His face like 5 times
