Moston House Shot Up Twice On Xmas Day & Firearm Drug Gang Jailed For Arsenal

- A house was shot at twice yesterday - including once while children were eating Christmas dinner, police have said.
The shocking attack was carried out at a property on Chelston Avenue in Moston.
Police said it was targeted once at around 1am and then again at around 5pm on Christmas Day.
During the first shooting, two adults aged in their 50s and two teenagers aged 17 and 14 were inside, police said.
At the time of the second shooting, there were two more adults also present - aged 40 and 35 - and a young child.
No one was injured and detectives are describing the shooting as an 'isolated incident with no further risk to the public'.
No arrests have been made and investigations are on-going.
Inspector Stuart Woodhead, of GMP's City of Manchester division, said: "This was an extremely frightening and shocking incident for all involved, who at the time of the second discharge, were trying to enjoy a Christmas dinner together.
"I would like to reassure the community that we are treating these discharges very seriously and are doing all that we can to protect residents and investigate this incident. Additional high-visibility police patrols will be present in the coming days to ensure the safety of those in the area.
"We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed either of these firearms discharges or has any information at all to please come forward and speak to police as a matter of urgency.
Second story : A man has been jailed after a haul of firearms - including an assault rifle - were found hidden at a 'safe house' above a takeaway during a police raid.
Michael Davis, 54, was arrested after cops raided the flat above the premises on Victoria Avenue, Blackley, in September last year.
Hidden in a black holdall in a suitcase were seven firearms; 145 rounds of ammunition; and class A drugs with a street value of more than £38,000.
All the guns were forensically tested and deemed to have been in working order. Two contained live rounds.
Davis renovated the flat and the locks were changed. He had the keys to all the doors in the flat.
"On September 15, 2017, a search warrant was executed by the police,” Mr Bentley said.
Following forced entry of the single bedroom, a search was undertaken and a large black suitcase was located in the far left corner of the room on the floor.
"Officers unzipped the suitcase and within it was a black sports type holdall."
Inside the holdall were seven guns - including a Czech Model 58P 7.62mm assault rifle; a Turkish Atak Arms Zoraki model 914 9mm self-loading pistol; a Smith and Wesson Model 64-2 .38” revolver; and a Ruger Model SP01 .357” Magnum revolver.
Today (Wednesday) Michael Davis, who fled to Spain following his arrest, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess prohibited firearms and ammunition.
Prosecuting, David Bentley told the court that Davis, from Rochdale, started working as a delivery driver for Perfect Pizza before he moved into the flat above to help the other occupant pay rent in January 2017.

I used to live in Moston , it was great when I was a kid ...by the time I was a teenager it was an absolute shit hole. ..drugs everywhere and burglary was considered a noble profession. .a few people I grew up with were murdered in that area..im so glad I got out of there.

WoW...I live in U.S.A. and to shoot up a house in the same day is really crazy. Now even though I'm here in America I would almost assume that after a drive by shooting of some kind especially when children are involved that police whether you're in England or America let the police do hang around for many many hours after the shooting. I've heard of people's homes getting shot up and even once firebombed but that generally happened couple of days or 3 days after the initial attack not in the same day so yeah this is really nuts for that to happen

Police always say they were on their way to an incident whenever they run someone over..their superiors look at what the closest incident was at the time and allocate that incident as the reason for their reckless driving. You see police do it all the time. They come upto a bit of traffic and on go the blue lights so they can get back to the station to clock out from their shift on time, i cant aay that was what happened this time but if you believe them, thats the only time a copper has ever run soneone over, it makes it hard to believe anything they say, what with their track record for lying, corruption and taking the public for mugs..hitting a kid is unacceptable to the public so their colleagues cover for them. In the context of problem, reaction, solution I think GMP is being deliberately under funded to justify the eventual solution: super max prisons in England.
In the same way numerous local authorities in England have gone bankrupt due to reduced & mismanaged funding, so too are the British police being underfunded to break an old policing system to replace it with something new.
If any police force is underfunded it will cease to function as it should. More recently the British government has spent £22 billion on a broken COVID track & trace system, meanwhile every year billions are collected in Council Tax , some of which is allocated to policing. Yet the British government doesn’t add to that money to adequately fund policing. I’m not pro-police, I’m pro-society but we’re now affectively living in an increasingly lawless country & for that reason things are, sadly, only going to get worse in 2021 & beyond. Super max prisons will make society more dangerous because the CrIminal Justice System will no longer be about rehabilitation or trying to solve difficult social problems, the CJS will only be about containment. This will increase lawlessness, not reduce it. It will also result in the imprisonment of even more mentally ill people, some of whom were seriously abused in the past in a broken children’s social services. On a broader level the psychopathic corporate management style adopted by the British government has made the British people its enemy. And so the cycle of abuse continues.
