daamn these mods are getting better and better. Now i actually beleve that the full beta story line will be playable as a mob in the near future. awesome
This mod is really something, it's really awesome how we can get a taste of Half-Life 2's beta without it feeling unfinished, but I agree with you that it could use some minor improvements, Barney's voice, the streets being too small, etc. But aside from that I think it's great! I've always felt like retail Half-Life 2 never really gave us too much time to really explore the city all too much, Raising the bar redux does a great job at giving us that! Nice video RadHaz, and will you ever consider streaming again?
Can't wait for RTBR's next update so we can finally venture outside of city 17 and see Eli's lab and the wasteland

It should also be noted that Division 1 will still receive cool updates in the future. Small part of the team still works on it while the others are busy with Division 2.

My most anticipated parts are the outlands, like the wasteland, depot etc... what became highway 17. I really look forward to these mods reaching that point in the story!

I think this actually has a better intro/walk around segment than base HL2. It feels a lot more like a world that exists. That part of release HL2 seemed to really suffer the most from beta as they went for a more "straight into the action" kind of pacing. Though I agree Dark Interval is still more impressive.
And I think Barney's voice is fine. Different, but fine.
For me, Division 2 of RTBR is amazing! Dark Interval is too good to!
I like how when you get jumped by the Combine in RTBR you wake up in a jail cell and Barney gets you out, rather than Alyx saving you just in time. Feels more natural, even if you sadly lose out on some Alyx scenes that introduce her as a character.
This mod is extremely promising - the updates they've shown us with the Eli Maxwell content looks amazing. I can only hope they keep this good work going until they have the complete story, I'd hate to see this mod die.
In the manhack arcade, if you grab the valve behind a stray door and plug it into a hole and turn it, it unlocks a section of the hazard course in the sewers
i love both dark interval and RTBR i just hope both of this mod we can get a full half life 2 beta good video btw and i have the same opinion of the barney voice actor but i think its better than just letters and a text on the middle of the screen (im from south america btw sorry for the bad english)
while i personally prefer dark interval, i hope that at least one Half Life 2 Beta mod gets completed

RTB:R is exactly what I want for a Beta mod. It’s gives off just the right amount of dark atmosphere and feel.
Man this mod looks great. I love the HL2 we got but I sure as hell wouldn’t mind getting to play the original vision. Fantastic video as always Radhaz!

When I first saw this mod I thought it was going to be mmod but with beta aesthetics
I absolutely love your videos man, thanks for uploading this part 2 as it expands and improves your first one.
To be honest my opinion on this has not changed that much since the first video. I still think a lot of the models look off, and most of the new designs for human combines feel somewhat pointless.
One thing i feel as if i should have added, is that the Weapons would be a lot cooler in my opinion if they had sprinting animations, as this would make the animations consistent with other remakes, and more modern HL games Like Operation Black Mesa, Mmod, and HDtF.

The way I see it, your issues with the pacing going away could be you being familiar with it now, level design is definitely a bit rough and confusing when you first boot it

Actually, the name of both is based on the official Half-Life Artbook called Raising the Bar, having a lot of stuff from HL1, 2, and HL2 beta especially
The demo division 2 of this mod is out.
My idea for a start of a hl2 beta mod is gordon arriving at the c17 in Borealis it stops all citizens get off after metro police in borealis tell them to get off gordon and citizens get on the docs and walk into c17.
Then gordon and the citizens find a train the metrocops orders them to get on and then they go onto the train entering city 17 walls like the consul says and then on the train theres samuel.

I still prefer Dark Interval to be honest, is just better in many ways except the guns. The guns in RTBR are awesome.
I love both RTBR and Dark Interval,only problem that I have with Dark Interval is that they choosed to use Dr Breen instead of The Consul, and that almost ruins Dark Interval for me,they are both good and DI has a very good atmosphere too but, i prefer RTBR,I think it's a little bit more loyal to the Beta - Alpha concepts.

Your comments on how awkward the small roads for such a large American metropolis would be in real life aren't wrong. Sadly its pretty accurate to real life.
Controversially, I actually preferred this mod to Dark Interval. Sure, the dialogue scenes are a bit long and the pacing isn't the best (it's certainly not bad but it's not as good as hl2). But the gunplay is insanely fun and the game just feels like a new take on an old concept. Dark Interval does have a more polished story, but the combat kind of falls short and I just don't seem to get the same excitement I do from RTBR.
I did thoroughly enjoy both though. I love both and I can't wait to see where they go. I do kind of wish both teams combined, with the combat and enemies from RTBR and the story from Dark Interval (although possibly with combat kicking in a bit earlier). And probably a combination of environments from both (I.E. RTBR construction yard, Dark Interval manhack arcade).

Voice actors impressions are just off. Audio quality is okay I mean it’s tolerable but the impressions are awful
