    Hi Dr Felix
As you have explained in the introduction, the word debtors is being dropped from use in the accounting statements and is replaced by Receivables. Does that mean that the Debtor's account is also likely to be changed to a Receivables account? Or these are two different and separate accounts.

What if the provision for doubtful debts remains constant through the years? How will it be treated in the P&L account?

dear sir, our teacher said that you could not assume allowance for doubtful debt as an expense. It can reduce our trade receivable, so it is debit.

With all due respect sir, my main question is, for preparing an income statement, why do we take the increase/decrease amount of provision for doubtful debts for an expense/income but why not take the whole amount that is present for that year. Wouldn't the whole amount be the actual expense for that year? i am very confused with this. I would highly appreciate it if you could reply me.

Thank you so much sir. You have contributed immencely to my academic life. Today I watched your videos on end of year adjustment but one problem militated against my ability to apply the knowledge till I watched this video. The problem is I don't know the second treatment for an additional bad debt but you have vividly explained it here. Once again thank you tremendously.
