I love that the live performance started with JK and ended with him...it is his song after all. He wrote the first draft and RM helped develop it. The film that goes through the fifth muster of JK going into the magic shop to find his smile is so great because in the end he finds his empty room with his own shoes and that’s what gave him his smile back. So what I got here is when you are at your lowest it’s ok to find this safe place in your mind...where you can find some quiet, beautiful music and rest for a bit until you can find your own strength and your own solution because it’s all within us. For the maknae to come up with such a song for Army is amazing!

This song has a special place in every ARMYs heart. I remember after their concert, 60k people were leaving the stadium altogether at wembley and one person yelled "so show me" and all the people around replied with "I'll show you" and we sang that back and forth all the way to the subway station. such a fond memory I have of the song and the concert that i'll always cherish.

Magic Shop is one of the songs in what I call my suicide prevention pack. BTS has literally saved lives with their music. There are people who either attempted or contemplated suicide and then changed their minds after listening to BTS songs. This one is most probably among them.

Lyrically, it seems that the initial inspiration comes from what Namjoon has said during concerts and fan meetings regarding ARMY. Jungkook wanted to write a comforting fan song, and I think this one in particular really reflects how he feels towards us, always wishing us to be happy and to take care of ourselves, wishing for them to be a source of comfort and strength, and always wanting to give back to us. It's very sincere and beautiful. Magic shop was one of the first songs played during LY tour, and it was truly magical and powerful. No choreo, just them walking to every corners of the stage~ Taehyung was just standing in front of us and staring (probably trying to see as many faces as possible before it was completely dark, as he said he likes to do so). My husband who was there too was genuinely amazed and he started to ask to watch BTS content with me afterwards 🤣. When the pandemic gets better and they are able to do in person concerts again, it's probably going to be very moving~
There are some songs which make me cry in BTS'. One of them is SUGA's First love and the other is this song, Magic shop. In Magic Shop's lyrics I like J hope's.

2!3! is another Army anthem. If you want to watch the live performance of this song, watch the one with Purple Ocean Project. Another great song but quite underrated is Whalien 52. As you delve deeper into BTS, you'll find 'whale' here and there. Whale is quite a significant for BTS so to understand that, listen to Whalien 52 😊 I agree with you. Suga's verse is my favorite in this song

my fav verse in this song is also yoongis verse, its so beautiful how he talked about feeling thar he was becoming a monster cause of his greedy in his first mixtape then after some years in magic shop he says that instead of wanting to become the best, he actually just wanted to be able to comfort our hearts and take away our sorrow and pain 🥺 its so beautiful 🥺 another part that i really like is when tae sings "would you believe if i told you that i too was afraid of everything?" because he puts SO much emotion in that line, it feels like he is feeling that emotion of fear everytime he sings it, tae is the best when it comes to expressing feelings and emotions with his voicals but also with his facial expressions, he is insane

I discovered this song while in lockdown last year (which is when I discovered BTS in general). I was out for my allowed 1h outside walking around my neighborhood and this song came on my spotify. I immediately decided I needed to go back to the start and read the lyrics at the same time. It stopped me in my tracks. I ended up finishing my walk with tears in my eyes and love in my heart.
*There is this saying that 'It might be jungkook's first life because his eyes glisten with stars everytimes he looks at something he loves or is curious about'--- and the fact that he was involved in this song that talks about 'his army stars' is just so endearing*

I discovered bts when the love yourself: tear album came out in 2018. I was going through a rough time then and when listening to it this song stood out. The lyrics are so beautiful and very healing. Everytime i listen to it i always start crying. It means a lot to me. I can confidently say magic shop is my favorite bts song and will always be. I’m so glad you read the lyrics and heard the song. I hope it also makes an impact on you 💜

I finally had a chance to watch this reaction, this song is one of my favorites of all their discography. The connection that you can see in the live performance must be so powerful in person if you can feel it through a screen years after it happened.
The song and lyrics really have a beautiful message and but in my opinion, if it weren't backed up by the very heartfelt sincerity in the recorded or live versions, it could come across as quite saccharine or cheesy, but they are so open and vulnerable at the same time, it's so lovely to listen to or see.
You mentioned the connection and you can tell there is that collective exchange of positive energy going on in the live, the version that was deleted is also very moving and beautiful and I imagine all the live performances are like that, how amazing. BTS are something else, really, I do hope I get to see them in concert someday but if not I can still enjoy their past concerts online or on DVD and future online ones, so ready for BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo!!!

roses =when it's fully bloomed, cherry blossoms=when there's wind causing it to flutter down like rain, morning glories=are known to be short lived; they open in the early mornings and close by the afternoon but if you think about it, it closes tightly & beautifully SO that it can cheerfully open again.

Magic Shop is one of my all time favorite songs by BTS, the song itself is so incredible and feels so deeply personal. In concert its perfection. You're so right that it's about comfort and support particularly supporting yourself! That may be why this song, especially live, makes me cry. So beautiful. Every part is such a treat. The end where they say "You gave me the best of me, so you'll give you the best of you" and "So show me, I'll show you" the call out and response, like a promise Army is making to be good to ourselves. Jimin loves Army so much that even in one of his last interviews he said that he wanted to grow old sitting watching and singing for Army even letting his beard grow, he has such a great love for the fans that it moves me, he is always interacting all the time with the public in each concert running from there to here going down to the platforms to reach them even helping those who have fainted. They are all very close but in Jimin you can feel the close love that there is and how infinitely grateful for Army.

This song has helped me soo sooo much, it's always the catharsis song for me. I'll be in a tough spot emotionally, and listening to different songs ha always been my way of releasing all the bottled up emotions. So if I start with songs that are sad and dark I wud always end with magic shop and love myself. These songs give me the closure I need from all the emotions that I just released, the end of my catharsis. It's never failed to bring me an emotional calm to all the negativity of my emotions. Will always be my comfort song along with epiphany and love myself.
And I love you Hanna for pointing out one of my favourite lines in all of BTS' songwriting, the yoongi line abt greed. It just reminds me of how strong he is to put some of his deepest and most vulnerable moments out here to help others and it makes me admire him and all of them so soo much.
