THAT chair in the bedroom? The one full of clothes? Yes of course, I know it! I have it. As much as I try to get rid of the stacks of stuff: it doesn't seem to work...
I think it's really interesting that your home has a 2-storey apartment, similar to Chateau de Colombe (Journey to the Chateau channel). I have a couple of tips: we tacked plain white sheets over unsightly walls for a few weeks, when we removed all the kitchen cabinets, until we could get to them to replaster and paint. Another tip: I put a peg rack inside each side of my tiny closet to hold clothes I would otherwise lay on top of a bookcase. They are set at a steep angle (about 60 degrees), touching the door frame at one end, and almost touching the hangers at the other end. It's a big help (though I still throw things into the floor of the closet). Your vlogs are charming, BTW.
It was nice to see unseen before rooms of the chateau. I loved the spiral staircase and those rooms with nice big windows for a very good daylight. Thanks for sharing! PS! Berret rules! I have couple of them...need to buy baguette more often 🤣

OK regarding the Virginia creeper. I live in North Carolina and we consider it an invasive weed. I spend a lot of time pulling it up and off of my privacy fence from where it comes over from the neighbor’s yard.

Oh, I remember when Lincoln first put up those swinging macrame chairs...I laughed hysterically and that's when I subscribed to your channel. You're my kind of people...wish I was your neighbor! Hope I'm not too old to watch your completed bedroom suite when you reveal it (I'm 75)! LOL. So enjoy the two of you!
I agree, never feel embarrassed to show a space that you will be working on. You have done so much up to now and have done everything so well. Just think of all the knowledge you have learned up to this point an how much easier this room will be for you to do. This is now your space to enjoy and make your very own....looking forward to it!! You’re right Amanda! When renovating, if you have a bedroom sanctuary to escape to it makes the shambles you live in elsewhere more palatable. That and a good kitchen!
I love your channel and especially your sense of humor. Your master suite will be so nice. I hate to be Debbie Downer and bear in mind this is coming from an old person-it will be great while you are young and healthy, but as you age, those steps to your closet could become difficult -beautiful stairway though. I feel certain you will have wardrobes and chests of drawers in the bedroom. Just a thought from an old person with bad knees. Have a great week.

Remember to take the halters with you every time you take them treats so they get used to them. Once they are use to seeing them, try draping it on them etc til it’s no problem to put them on. Will be much easier when it’s time to lead them to a new pasture and see the farrier.

I love the comment about the bedroom chair. I have a theory that if I FOLD the clothes I put on the chair, it’s not a problem. When the pile of folded clothes falls over, it’s time to have a sort out.
I love the creeper ivy. I think it adds beauty & character to your lovely chateau.
Even with all the hard work that you are constantly doing inside and outside, you two and your daughters definitely seem to be making the most of your journey; and it is so fun to share glimpses of it --the beautiful gardens with its produce, the cats, dogs, and donkeys who are so lovely and give that love right back. I have Boston Ivy on the back of my house that needs trimming at least twice during the summer. It's a cousin to Virgina Creeper. I use a leaf rake to scrape down the ivy from the wall to where I can cut it. It's very satisfying scraping off large swaths of ivy using this method and a lot faster than picking away at it by hand. Leaf rake not garden rake. It's more flexible and lighter.
See if you can rent a cherry picker in the mean time. Donkeys are looking good now. I'm glad the donkeys have settled in to Chateau life. Can't wait to see progress on your "Master Suite". ♥

Virginia Creeper is very tough to manage. It's invasive and you will constantly try to trim it. Recommend climbing white roses and clematis. Why white? You can see white flowering plants at night, and if you do accent lighting, it will look stunning.
I thought when you said how bad the room was....I was still waiting to see the awful part.😊 Maybe Lincoln can put a "Raspberry Beret," on make a video by Prince. The views and likes would high #. Maybe the animals could be his back up singers.😊

Had to laugh - thank you! Memories of a renovation we did over 10 years ago ...and like Lincoln my hubby eagerly took up the carpet in the lounge/dining area... it wasn'r replaced for nearly 18 months and it was sooo ugly! Bon courage, love the vlogs xxx

For 27 years I lived in a building covered with vines, hated it. I had the entire top floor of the 3 story building and it was a constant battle to keep it from growing in and over my windows. It also allowed bugs and animals easy access to my home. HATE IT.

The door that Lincoln's going to take out where does it go to I can't wait to see what you do to the room I hope we get to see every little bit you do I just love watching your your blogs you two are so great
Donkey "deodorant" - get a fuzzy mitt (usually sold in horse section) and liberaly spray with the fly spray then rub on their faces neck/belly etc. You get better coverage especially on their faces and legs where it's most needed. Halter halter halter (what I yell at the screen but you never hear me). To train them for farrier (he will really appreciate this) put the halter and lead on (so they can't run away or swing around to kick) gently run your hand down their leg, don't remove your hand everytime they protest, if you do, they win. Do this everyday until they're used to it. Then standing at their shoulder, run your hand down the leg, push your body against their shoulder, grip their hock and lift as they shift their weight as you push against the shoulder. Practice it daily, you'll be amazed how quickly they will lift their foot for you.
100% I have a chair-clothes problem. It’s for transitional clothes that are not pristine clean but have only been worn once or twice and can still be worn a couple more times until I wash them😂 I’ve tried eliminating chairs in order to prevent the chair-clothes piling however it’s amazing how many things you can turn into a clothes pile, in lieu of a dedicated chair. You are not alone.
Ps. I totally thought your bedroom wall looked like a Basquiat. You said last week that you wanted on!

Check in with Chateau de la Fertè. They have a cherry picker they may sell, as they are selling up and moving back to England. 😊
