the Belarusian girl who had been only for a few months yet speaks Japanese is very impressive
Tbh she was probably one of the rarest types of foreigners in Japan - the one that actually learned at least the basics back home in Belarus.
that Belarusian girl is incredible
she passed her life learning that torture
@@MrBejkovec Its so unfortunate that people who move to Japan don't bother with learning the language beforehand. I feel like a decision like moving to japan is a well thought out one and in light of preparation i feel like its important to know the language of the country you are moving to, or at least the basics.
âFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.â John 3:16
I'm from Belarus. It was amazing to see belarusian girl in Japan with so good knowledge of language. Felt so proud of it.
I could definitely see cultural and religious differences being the hardest parts for alot of people in these relationships.
good reason to not date them
Specially the religious part is extremely hard
â@@xPoisonDashx ikr !! It's hard everywhere tbh
most Japanese are not very religious, I'd say the "religion" is more a part of culture but they aren't really "religious"
Between 30 and 39 per cent of the people on the Japanese islands say they are "convinced atheists".
Dating is straightforward in Japan. No friendzone or letâs get to know each kind of thing. Yes or No. And youâll know right away. They either show good emotion/compliance (green light) or ghost out (red light). No waste of time. I like it
I wish everywhere was like that no games just straight forward

Made me laugh to see everyone mentioning bumble. I met my husband off the app my 2nd year living in Japan, and somehow here we are. For me, I'd say the hardest thing we struggle with from time to time is actually cultural differences and family values. Our listening comprehension of each other's language is fairly high, so rarely do we not understand one another when talking. It's mainly been me getting used to the more closed off dynamic of his family compared to my overly connected and over sharing family, and him learning to be more active and less passive during discussions, or when informing me if I've hurt his feelings. My family loves him, and his family truly cares about and loves me, and I feel lucky that we managed to meet and continue to work together to overcome our international differences to be where we are today.
what a masochism

I met my Japanese husband at a Denny's in Japan. I tried following the Japanese rules while dating, but we ended up doing our own thing đ. Been married for 5 years â€
For me, I had a lot of good and bad experiences. My advice for women especially is to be careful about guys that are only interested in you because you're foreign. They'll always mention you're foreign to their friends and take pictures and it just feels like they're only dating you for that purpose. Most of my relationships that ended badly were due to that or cultural differences that we couldn't get past. But I had some good experiences too. I learned to speak Japanese through dating. When I dated people that couldn't speak English, it forced me to learn and speak Japanese more quickly. The guy I'm dating now can only speak Japanese. And it's crazy to see how far my language ability has come from it. đž
And I agree that bumble is a bit better than tinder in terms of dating. For tinder, the majority of people want hookups. If you're using Tinder, I'd always ask the person directly what their purpose is. Usually they'll tell you directly. And you can just unmatch with people who don't have the same purpose. â ïž

Maybe only in my bubble... but I was surprised that the girl was surprised. I think hungarian guys at least try to pay for the whole.
@@zoli400 Yeah indeed. In my opinion, whoever invited the other person on the date, pays for the whole, which is usually (especially, in the first couple dates) is the guy.
@@zoli400 She is in her own bubble not you. In Hungary and generally in Europe and the USA is expected from the guy to pay. She is on tinder trying to match only with the top 5% of men who has 500 other options for that day so they either split the bill or dont pay anything at all because the girl is desperate to try to keep that 10/10 guy around :D Many woman has crazy high standards nowadays but they willing to break them for the guy they want :D

In my experience itâs really hard. There are factors like income, what family you come from, and being Japanese. Of course there are Japanese girls that marry sailors and foreigners yes, but in my experience, dating in Japan isnât really welcoming. Itâs really difficult, Iâd rather go casual dating in the US than in Japan.
Loving the content my man
I love how he used a periodic table image in one of the transitions XD (chemistry)
For an easier East Asian experience, foreigners should go to Korea instead. Seoul is like Tokyo without the language barrier or social awkwardness. Most of the people I met in Seoul spoke English an are easily approachable. Comparing my visits to both Seoul and Tokyo, I'd give Seoul the advantage, by far.

I love love your channel.. as a Nigerian girl in Japan, I would like to know what itâs like for girls of African descent (both African American) in the dating pool in Japan
Ever since I read somewhere that when Americans introduce themselves they usually never just say "I'm from the US" or something they say "I'm from (insert US state)". I find that interesting.
Yes, we tend to identify with our state first, country second. If you look at the geographical size, American states are about the same size as European countries. Wouldn't someone say "I'm from Switzerland" rather than "I'm from Europe"?
@@earlysda On the other hand, I'm from Canada, but I just usually say that. I don't tell them my province or hometown. Maybe that's because I doubt they would recognize the names anyway...
@@kobecanuck78 That's cool, Peter. Most people don't know my state either, but once in a while I'll meet somebody who has been there and their face will really light up!
@@earlysda Europe is not a country, but the US is. To me, telling me your state first feels like there's a subtext of "you should know all the states of my country, because it is the cultural default".

@Jesse where do you get your fades in Japan my guy? Gonna be teaching English there next year!
Im living in Tokyo and it's been 2 month I'm dating a japanese. I kinda disagree with the person saying that the japanese speaking only japanese are close minded. Quite the opposite ! They feel frustrated not being able to speak any foregin language so they do want to learn. Im french and I'm learning japanese thanks to my girlfriend and she's learning english (and a little bit of french) thanks to me.
It's true that it is difficult to cummunicate sometimes but you dont learn anything from someone speaking the same language than you...
seulement 1% des personne comme elle sont comme ça au japon. t'a eu toute la chance du monde.
teach her french tongue
You can definitely learn from people who speak the same language as you. Thereâs this thing called âTeachersâ
@@SonicSega0964 Obviously you can learn in many others ways. It's so obvious that I wasn't expecting this kind of answer. Your teacher ain't h24 with you and it's easier to learn a language when your family or GF use it every time. That's my point. Why should have even explained that isn't it obvious ? đ
I would say Language is Nr. 1. If you're both from non English speaking country there are gonna be lots of misunderstandings. If at least 1 is speaking in their mother tongue it's starting of easier if there is a base level.
But once you get close to that you just reached the first Plateau and notice that the culture difference is the real challange.
Met my GF in University. lots of cultural differences but thankfully I speak some Japanese so we were able to talk about it. the hardest concept for me to get isăæ°ăă€ăă where you have to consider other people's feelings. Great content Jesse! ALMOST 100K!!!!!

moral of story: dating girls like them isn't worth it. most western women>>>>>>>>>>>>>asian ones
This is a dope channel.
æ„æŹèȘććčă»ăăšăăăă
Asian mentality is that, if you wanna try out if this works out, you stay as a friend first. Dating is a stage where both already confessed their feelings to each other, hence is official.
I saw this phrase "confess one's feelings" in Terrace House a lot and to me it's so odd. First off, if you're asking someone to go out, your feelings should be fairly obvious. Second, there's the word "confess", making it sound like telling someone you're attracted to them is some terrible secret that you're revealing. Puts way too much pressure on the whole thing. Maybe I'm reading too much into the wording but this is the sense I got watching stuff like TH.
@@woutertron Back then, dating means leading to marriage. If they don't have this understanding, they should not date or even face backlash from the community. These days, dating can be casual but many people still see confession as part of the beginning phase.
If it is so difficult to get a bf in Japan that even that Belarusian woman has to use dating apps, it must be hopelessly difficult for other "foreign" women...
Iâm a Belarusian girl from this video haha! Happily dating for almost 9 months already âșïž ps. every âforeignâ woman is gorgeous in her own way. I would recommend to use dating apps for those who want serious relationships, because as foreigners we donât have much opportunities to find it ânaturallyâ like Japanese women, who usually find partners from their community like school, university, work. So foreigners who not belong to such communities in Japan have only two options like meeting someone at bars or clubs, or dating apps. From my experience itâs really hard to find someone with serious intentions in a bar or club so apps are a good way to go 𫶠(only if itâs not a tinder)
good job ~
