  • When trading on Betfair you want to get one order matched then another. You can put them in at the same time but often it makes sense to only put one in when one has filled.
In this video, I'm scalping and doing so initially with the offset bet going in after one side has completely filled then I using batch orders to get the opposing side to fill as the initial order does.
It's a neat trick to use to get your order to fill quickly and only when matched as part of a larger order. You could split an order of £10 into 5 batches for example.

    Hi Peter,
Do you have an instructional video where i create an order where i lay for example the 3rd fav at $6 and i want to offset it by 50 ticks when it is in play......so when the price gets to for example $3 , betangel will fire in a back bet for the best price at $3 or thereabouts.....is this possible ? Thankyou.

I've used BA for years and didn't really understand what batching was used for. Good video. Similar to partial matching in Racing Traders.

A lot of Bet Angel features get copied! But there are some really important ones that still don't appear in other products curiously. New version on its way soon.

Is this new version going to have multiple offsets instead of singles.

hi Peter, great video as always. Though i am a bit confused as to what the batch number relates to? Does 64, in this example, mean you are breaking up the order into 2 pieces of 64? Or is it breaking it up into 64 equal batches (i.e. of £2 each)? Or something else maybe? Thank you !

Batching in 64 means your stake is broken up into 64 chunks, so £128/64 = £2 batches or how it was matched. Which ever was greater.

Hi Peter. I think that I have finally cracked it on Bet Angel Pro and having a pretty good week! Does the offset batching work on a lowering price market? ie backing high then auto laying low or is it only on an upward price market where you demonstrate laying low then auto backing high? Many thanks Glen

Do I need to create a new action named 'Back high-Lay low' in the global settings editor and have the offset ticks set to -1 rather than +1?

    • @betangeltv
      @betangeltv  Před 6 lety

Offsetting works by putting the reverse order in a profitable position, so it doesn't matter where your opening order is and whether you back or lay it just does the opposite to create a profit.

Okay thanks Peter. I did try the offset bet on the back side last night but it didn't fill the lay side. What should the 'Place fill or kill bets' be set to 1 secs delay?

Is the batches will work in live mode only but not in practice mode cause it's not real money it will place the bet in one batch even if there is not enough liquidity to cover the bet amount?

    • @betangeltv

They will still work, but not be as accurate as it will assume sometimes that more is taken that really will be in real markets.

Why 64? could it be above or below 64?

    • @betangeltv

It can be, within sensible limits, any number you wish.
