It seems there would be alot of friction on the rods as they slide in and out. Seems high maintenance
Linear bearings can be used
Great Video
I'm having trouble thinking it through whether this device runs like a CV joint or a U joint. My intuition says it operates like a CV joint. Opinions?
looks good but practically not possible . Rods will bend after it will get load . plus it will have too much vibrations .After getting load It will run for five minutes and mechanism will collapse .
Maravilloso mecanismo felicitaciones desde Guatemala
Awesome...👍👍👍👌👌👌
Good job bro....👌👌👌👌👌👌
mind blowing idea
شكرا جزيلا لكم ..
High maintenance cost , more joints higher vibrations .
Yes , sliding and spining in one surface hole. No good.
This early prototype to demonstrate the concept by these young engineers. All it needs further development. Good job.
I am an Aerospace engineer with 45 years experience. These young engineers should be encouraged for further developments. I would say, Good Job, well done.
Under load, that looks like it will fold up like a Martha Stewards handbag!
How angle can be fixed
Nice
What is the applicational usages
Sir can i get complete design of model in *prt format
But how would you control the output shaft angle. One more universal joint will be required.
Clement Christian yes if needed we can use it
Fix the motor in vertical position it’s getting 360 dig power transmission.
Very Nice
What software?
what software you used to make this video?
Please tell me which software used for this animation
solidworks
Where is the ppt of this
could u pls give me the dimensions...,
This would cause jamming at extreme angles, not to mention a LOT of wear on the rods sliding in/out of the discs. A lot of strain is also applied at the right angle connections. This would only work on light duty, light weight applications. You'd not be able to move a heavy loads. You would also need a lot more oil/grease as you have far more moving parts. A gear has only 2 moving connections, where the two gears mate. This has at least 6. Too many parts, too many possible failures. Good animation, tho
what is it's purpose, just to be able to angle your rotating object? in that case, why not just rotate the motor and save a lot of weight that the motor has to spin resulting in a more efficient transfer of power.
The idea works, very nice, but what are the applications that we can do with this, which we can't using conventional ways?
Why must everything have a practical purpose? It's a mental exercise, pure hypothetic and nicely done.
wow
do you have a report?
Can't able to carry kigh torque
Too many sliding pairs for a flexible coupling...But the idea is mind blowing..
Not possible... As the shifting rods will turn about their own axis.....
AMAN YADAV it's possible bro
Can be used for low speed but doesn't appear to be a good option for higher speeds.
In 90degree the end shaft will work just as a push rod..Will not rotate end wheel ..Up 45 degree it is ok .. eventhough it is not a simple design and not durable
what are the advantages
LOMASH KUMAR learnmech.com/gearless-power-transmission-in-angular/ this has all kinds of info, I guess the first time it was used was in big Ben the clock in 1600s
None
Give some applications for this project...
Hobson's joint.
Автор ты собери этот механизм и проверь на деле будет ли он работать. А так на картинке все это выглядит красиво. Я скажу так эта схема не рабочая 100 процентов. За видео лайк. Красиво сделал.
Idea is good but higher cost, torque can't vary with speed, etc
This would be ok for light applications, add a load and the connecting rods would fail.
Wow
Or use a CV joint
why changing Angular Positions is good for
Yousef fayyas lots of things, maybe it would be ideal for a moving piece of machinery in a factory for example.. I don't see this as a very practicle gear for a regular single person though.
Yousef fayyas learnmech.com/gearless-power-transmission-in-angular/ here is all the info on it from the poster of the video
i love you
Idea is good but not so reliable as cross shaft because cross shaft has evolved after this concept
maybe good for light loads only
Better is, universal joint used without friction..
ANIL AUTOMOBILE universal joints are not constant speed joints. So they slow down and speed up and slow down and speed up and it goes on. This is constant speed i think.
Universal joint have a limited angle.
yeah. no speed variation between input and output shafts
Can i get the document for this
Amit Kumar
learnmech.com/gearless-power-transmission-in-angular/ this gives all kinds of info the guy who posted the video posted it on another comment
weaving spider web should work well but that will shatter at 350 rpm
Good idea bt practically nt possible
Lost of Energy loss
At least between +-45 degres I can found how is this better than a CV joint..or even equal.
the rods will over heated and fretting
Better than others that only show 90° power transmission via Hobson's joint. (But you didn't build one.)
It's going to be only a 1 to 1 transmission rate.
Banyak gesekan
U really did a great work
Give me ur number
Comments me logo ki mat suno or tumne jo kiya wo tarif ke layak hai warna humare india me kaise kaise projects banate hai hume acche se pata hai jinka koi use ya application nahi hai
U did a great work well done
Anuj kumar comments doesn't matter for me i just give thought and animate it. I knw its has lot drawback i hv mentioned all points in description already. People dont hv time to read it.
Learn Mechanical Anyway but thumsup for u
Which field u belong ?
Learn Mechanical ye bina link ke bhi kam kar sakta hai
pretty picture, but it will fail.
Only 1 bearing support on final drive shaft. Need at least 2 or a much longer sleeve bearing.
Not enough support for sliding rods, pretty sure they will bind up and bend.
These drives generally are not as self centering as people think. Especially if those drive rods bind up in the housing. Just my onion, you know what that's worth lol
iska use kaha ho sakta he
robatics
clock towers
angular drilling
Kha kha pe use kar sakte hai
Used in small toys, spherical cutter
Pro trolley me
why it is used

Why are so many people running down these young engineers. I am an Aero Space Engineer with 45 years experience. I have seen proposals which were run down, by dumb asses, and further developments and they became success, and I have heard”why we did not think this before”. Encourage these young engineers.
What are you talking about? Who is running them down? It's just that this supposedly gear-less method will not work under a load because the rods will eventually bend when torque is applied. The driving part has to spin the rods and the driven part is under stress to meet the demand from the rods. So, if you apply a load, e.g. a wheel, or pulley and it has a weight to torque ratio similar to an engine/gearbox torque applied to a car rear wheels via a tailshaft fitted with universal joint, the generated torque forces the wheels to spin. If you provide a torque from a car engine/gearbox to this thing to rotate a wheel at the driven end or something to cause a rotating traction, those rods will bend and snap into smithers. All we see here is a free rotating device that only works without a load applied. So, what are you actually talking about these guys? Nobody is saying anything about what they made. It's just that it doesn't work when a load is applied, simple as that. Nobody cares about your 45 years experience in whatever..., it's just that people with a lesser intelligence know that the project will spin, but would it still spin if a load or torque is applied at the driven end? You're angrily criticising other commenters for nothing. Geez 🙄
Nice efforts..
But not practical in real life...
I can't even begin to form a thought on how dumb this is , just so many things wrong
Would you kindly educate us about it?
but it will only generate speed not torque
Paras Productions yes it is applicable where cost considerations is very less nd no high torque condition
good design tho
Cv joint
It's not usable on load
Not possible with loading
Zafar Ali Sayyed it is possible0
It’s not incredibly efficient, but definitely possible. I’ve seen a working replica made from legos that is very functional.
Ranchander Sahu yes it is, by without loading
Before explain this
You need learn what is transmission ?
Hariom Parajapati transmission is mechanism which transfer power from one end to another. That what I know.
A lot of friction.
india
Can you remove that Annoying sound?
The content is great but the disturbing noise takes the concentration away .
अगर इस तकनीक में ऊर्जा का क्षय कम से कम होता है और शक्ति अधिक प्राप्त होती है तो ये तकनीक अच्छी है।
This is not possible
666
Energy loss
Failed
Universal joint is much better than this
Terrible bgm
Computer animations mean nothing.
Kyle B obviously thats why tom and jerry doesn't sense gravity until they see down and wave their hand. :D...
Agreed - this is a triumph of 2D over 3D. Sadly, everything in real-life (3D) suffers from friction and it's a bloomin killer - nice animation tho!
absolutely wrong idea
