- As we await early Cohos at Capilano River, we head to Rolley Lake in Mission, BC to continue fishing for Rainbow Trout!
We didn't quite catch our limits, although the rainbow trout were pretty decent in size! Despite stocking 2000 trout a week earlier, Rolley Lake wasn't as productive as we expected. In our experience, spoons are much more effective than floats at this lake; the lake didn't have the steep drop-offs close to shore, so it was quite difficult fishing with our float setup (it got zero bites!) Fish were also jumping quite far out towards the middle of the lake; looks like it could be a nice lake to fish off a kayak or canoe?

@@BCFishingMajors yep, looking at anywhere from shore both fresh/salt water, any suggestions of good past experiences?
Trout is your best bet at the moment! Rice, Buntzen, and Browning are our fav spots for them! Bass is right around the corner; deer, pitt, and cultus are nice for those.
We haven’t fished saltwater from shore too much. Ambleside pier seems to be a nice spot with some people getting flounder and sole. Steveston dock is nice for herring. Hope this helps! Tight lines!!
