Have you guys be out this year? Haven't seen a video in ages
I can only imagine what it’s like to post a video of yourself fighting snagged fish after snagged fish. Best of luck out there guys.
Beginner question. Do you need a licence to fish in lakes and rivers?
Yes 😅, you’ll need a non tidal license with a salmon tag ( if you’re targeting Salmon) tight lines 🎣
Props for you guys playing by the rule when many don't.
what did you guys use?
Hey what bc fisherman majors what shot on the vedder is this if u mind me asking
By train bridge area. Tight lines🎣
@@BCFishingMajors OK thank you and what bait are you using because I have used a lot of beats, but none of them really work
@@BCFishingMajors a lot of people are saying roe is the best but I’m not quite sure
Hey bc fisherman majors I’m looking to start pink salmon fishing this year and I was wondering what pound test rod would be the best for pink salmon? And size reel would be the best for pink salmon
What rod and reel pound test do you recommend for pink salmon?
what did you guys use?
Ohhh I always do great at Jones from the shore, but I have never been there at that low of water , And always never drive off the road ,There is a spot past the big rock slide and bridge a very small pull over ,walk down to the lake around 150 feet when high and fish never got skunked , using floats just a few feet off the drop off , and spinners
Firstly thanks for the share. Followed your lead and purchased bootfoot waders. I'm thinking of buying an insole as the sole seems a bit flimsy plus wader stocking for warmth. What do you guys do to keep things warm in the bootfoot wader you are wearing?
theyre not the greatest for warmth, we just layer multiple socks 😅🤣
I don't understand why you guys are out so far .
what are the best places to go crabbing in the lower mainland? Also, do you think it's better to get a paddle board and go deeper in barnet marine?
we not super sure this year, cates park area is usually pretty good. would suspect going deeper would be more productive
is there steel head there?
The opposite of what the essence of fishing is all about. The complete opposite experience that anyone should experience. A true lack of creative thinking. There must be a big neon sign pointing to that part of the river.
This is a gross example of the sport. The reason I stopped fishing that river 15 years ago.I'd sooner hike for a couple of hours then watch this slaughter.
is this ambleside dog beach?
yup, in the train bridge direction
@@BCFishingMajors awesome thank you! I went there a few weeks ago to fish for some dogfish.. but everywhere I walked said no fishing :(
how longdid it take you to get there and back?
30mins there a bit longer on the way back cause the wind picked up 😅
@@BCFishingMajors really? only 30 mins from mcdonald park in richmond bc to threasher?? im a newb.
really depends on conditions and how fast you can go 😃
You will look back at this ans laugh lol
Check out the videos from Danny Coleville of Coleville Outfitters. He has some videos that explain casting a centerpin. I went on my first trip here on the East Coast in New York state and fell in love with steelhead fishing and centerpin. Best advice is get out and practice casting as much as possible, the more I got comfortable with it the easier it was to get more distance.
Go back to capilano
Did u use prawn baits?
Whoaaa that first spot That looks before sunrise pretty sure that's illegal sunrise-sunset especially with a headlamp that would qualify for spotlighting #DFO
Just saying not trying to be a sick just trying to educate
@@shanefoster6018where I live in BC it’s 1 hour before sunrise and 1 hour after sunset
@Bcfishing513 headlamps and light use could still count as spotlighting
@@shanefoster6018 it’s up to the DFO officer I’ve met picky and lenient ones 🤷♂️
Can't wait to see the full video brothas
What spot is this and what season do they run are they running right now?
What’s the spot called?
I want to know
Is there fish running right now?
is the jigs you guys used heavy enough to cast
do you guys have any location were theres a river and theres salmon in west van or north van?
jones sucks and fords suck lol you should try weaver lake
that was just a baby
Amateur hour on the vedder
Where is that bridge?
Can you do more videos like this? More setups and tutorials for new fisherman pls
Where is your net? You men showing the very thing you not supposed do . Dragging fish across the rocks then releasing some . Bad form gentlemen
how do you know when the fish got stocked
what lures do you reccomend for pink salmon
going out in july 2024?
Yessir!!!
do you prefer medium light or medium heavy
what rig did you guys use?
We had tsasmanian devil on leader with no weight added. Tight lines🎣
Hey, do you guys know it's ILLEGAL to catch rock cods or ling cods in Area 28, all of the area in Indian Arm all year around for more than 10 years. Looks like you guys were fishing in the RCA (Rock fish Conservation Area). Even catch and release is not allowed. Please check the fishing regulations before you go fishing.
Where is this exactly? Can I access it from Capilano park/cleveland dam?
You can park at cable pool parking lot and walk down to your left. Tight lines!!!
When Steven lost that fish, instead of just walking down and reeling in the slack, if u point ur rod down in the water the fish will come back up because they think the pull is coming from a different direction so they start to swim back to u
Hey on the last catch on the cardiff casting reel. Was there an issue with the drag? Heard you saying it gets loose everytime the fish makes a run. Would appreciate your input here.
Lots of Du MA expressions
😂😂😂
They should just eat their trout fresh out of the lake instead of their instant noodles. Yum!
I have an open bow 21’ boat but am nervous about making the crossing on Georgia straight over to the island. Yours is the first video I’ve seen of someone making the crossing in a similar (if not smaller) boat. It’s clearly something you feel comfortable doing, is it something you do frequently? Any issues or concerns, I know the weather can get big, fast and get dangerous for small boats. I see you also don’t run a kicker? Do you have a backup if you run into mechanical problems? I’m not criticizing at all, just looking for first hand knowledge. I’d love to head over to the island, do some fishing, boat camp through the gulf islands maybe. Thanks!
We’ve been going pretty frequently the past couple years, about once a week depending on if the weather permits 😅 Ours is a 20ft; on a flat calm day crossing is like riding across a lake. Being in a smaller boat you definitely have to stay hyper alert all the time and watch out for the weather, breaking waves, logs, etc. We’ve had the weather turn nasty many times on the way back, just gotta take your time (took us 3x longer to get back), constantly adjust the throttle to keep your nose up, and also monitor your fuel levels all day! We usually keep the canvas bow cover on when crossing otherwise it could get pretty chilly in the mornings. It also minimizes the water coming on board when we occasionally hit a wave hard Ideally we would have a kicker, but we’ve just been running across with the single I/O motor. For what it’s worth, we always bring a jumper and other safety equipment incase. Thankfully the one time we were having mechanical problems, we managed to make it back before it died. Crossing the strait is honestly pretty straightforward and super rewarding. It gets smoother with reps as you feel out your boat and understand how to best approach swells and waves of varying sizes in your boat! Pick a calm day and go for a cruise as far as you’re comfortable and build your way up! Also we find it pretty important to not only check the weather the day of the outing, but also be aware of the weather in the days leading up to it (we learned the hard way 🤣). Tide flows vs wind also play a part in how the swells behave and moderate/strong wind blowing from the north west also makes conditions especially rough. Hope this helps, happy to answer more if needed!
@@BCFishingMajors thanks for the thoughtful response. You should consider making a video about. Prep beforehand, underway and the return. Explain what you do and why you do it. Thanks again!
@spiritededucators Great idea, will do!
Where'd you guys park your vehicle to go here?
Cable pool?
In the Cleveland dam parking lot? Can I walk from there to this fishing spot?
I wanna go
Hey man I’m Irish and just moved to Vancouver. I fished for Atlantic salmon back home but I’m struggling with the different techniques used to fish for salmon here. I’m fishing on my own so don’t really have anyone to teach me
