- Maybe it's time to get rid of your ex's belongings? 💔
Well, here's a place you can do just that. The Museum of Broken Relationships is a landmark location in Zagreb, Croatia filled with sentimental items, objects and even clothing from failed relationships around the world. Two unlikely founders, Olinka Vištica and Dražen Grubišić, once shared a love story that eventually reached its final chapter. They owned a bunny which they both loved and had to decide who gets to keep it. This birthed the idea of a museum full of artifacts from failed relationships and a community of hopeless and hopeful romantics. It doesn't matter how quirky, strange or lame the item is, anyone can donate to this museum.

What's the strangest item you've kept from an ex? 🥴😅
Her panties 😢 I be wearing them just to remember her 😩
@@traphimawari7760what 😨
I have a painting of a fox that my ex painted for me. She was a very talented artist and it’s a really good painting. I tried to give it back to her but she wouldn’t accept it and said it was mine as she made it for me. So I kept it and it’s been hanging on my wall for almost 8 years now after our split.
An hair claw
Might change my answer if I remember something stranger, but I kept it for years until a friend of mine who was helping me throw stuff out got me to throw it away (I had moved away to go to school and also forgot about it) it was a sealed glass jar of something preserved his mom made that she gave to me, I don’t even know what it was. 😅
I've actually been to that museum a month ago. It's pretty small, but if you're interested in humanity and the small stories of the world, it's perfect
Oh my god, I just discovered the channel has been given a second chance of life again! Beyond happy to see you guys continuing your journey in filming interesting and otherwise beautiful stories around the globe.
Amen to that
One persons heartbreak is another persons museum.
This seems like a place you'd find in a Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
the 'i can make you thin' book made me laugh, i''m guesing that particular relationship ended when that book was given :D This is just the strangest idea, i honestly don't know anyone that would want to be reminded of their break-ups, or contemplate other people's, but that's just me.
I think it’s closure for them. The ritual of packing up the grief or rage or misery and literally sending it away can lift a great psychological weight from them. And their story can remind someone going through a similar experience that they aren’t alone & someone across the globe might have a tip to help them out.
May not work for everyone but I can see how it would help some.
This is such a touching concept and I am really glad Olinka and Dražen have made a conscious effort to display and preserve what I like to call “small scale history” (objects from relatively recent history that belonged to or were mostly accessed by common people). Most of these items were probably picked out with great care and are very meaningful to the people who donated them, despite that meaning having changed over time. It’s an honour that these people chose to share something so deeply personal from their lives and I cherish the opportunity this gives us to connect over part of the human experience through them.
It's worth a visit if you are in Zagreb, it's quirky but beautiful in the way it shares our human experiences in relationships.
whoever gave someone their phone so they wouldn't be able to call them had some serious cajones
Oh my god, I’ve known about this place for years. I’ve wanted to donate something of an ex of mine and visit as well, as I thought it would help me find some sense of peace. That’s so funny this showed up today, I was thinking about this yesterday.
update us! did u donate ur item?
I paused to read the story behind the diet book and I'm happy she didn't marry that guy bc I read the cover and GASPED!
Exactly my thoughts! I fear for the next poor woman who ends up with him.
Love me the quirkier museums that take a fragment of history and humanity and make it an experience and an art.
Such a cool concept, its really neat to know a museum like this actually exists!
Well done, Great Big story. Well done!
one of my exs and i had a badish break up and we became regular friends after, we still text each other every so often. it can def happen!
What a fabulous concept! And valuable resource!
I love this channel. It's one of the inspirations for what I do for work. ❤️ great video!
I remember being in that museum in YEARS ago. Very small and back then they offered free electric fans where you plug them on your cellphone! One that stuck around with me was that friendship ring. Unfortunately they never met each other again.
2:28 I've done this. Left my phone at my ex's house so they couldn't call.
Great Big Story, please, stay forever and ever
this is GREAT!
This is such a great idea
Great video
This is a really cool idea
I came here for the GameCube controller but stayed for the purpose and story
You really need to proof-read the subtitles. It's clear they're just voice recognition without anyone even giving them a glance. Some parts are just atrocious: for instance 3:32 "to get rid" becomes "to get married", or at 0:17, whatever happened with the names of the founders.
It's making the subtitles very hard to use for non-hearing English speakers, and basically unusable for people who use the translation option because of the misinterpretations, the absence of punctuation, and the subtitles being cut mid sentences.
It somehow looked to me as though they just took the CZcams auto-generated subtitles and clicked 'save' without actually proofreading them.
this museum is cool! i wanna visit but i don't know if I'll ever go to Croatia tbh
What a fine example of humans being humans, and not soul-less cogs of a corporate meatgrinder
❤
I have seen the streamed movie of this... The guy wanted to build a hotel with his girlfriend turned ex etc. Hotel turned into this museum.
GBS Nice 🧸
I guess this does answer the question "can you still be friends with your ex"
Hope to put my memorable item there.
Someone should send the museum Spider-Man PS4 game! There is a sad story to that one!
I never kept anything from any of my exes. Now I kinda wish I had so I can send them something 😔
woah…
If I had an x I would happy send an item
But I've been single for over a decade 😂
I don't have anything "strange".
Just a ring. A carnival plush. A bra.
Heartbroken galley
You will never find my stuff in that museum
Nah, ngl that godzilla with beaded necklace look kinda tuff tho.
I want it so bad 😢
Gamecube controller vibes.
This is interesting as an ironic art piece, but otherwise a monument to unhealthiness
They need to flip that GameCube controller.
I went here when I was 7
Only remember the caterpillar
video importee dans ma tete trilingue.
Did they get back together??
lol, olinka vištica is *so beautiful!* ...what a gal. 😍
vištica can also mean 'witch' in one of Croatian dialects ;) guess she did put her spell on you!
I have some things they might be interested in.
90 percent certain their still doing it. But platonically.
Meow
the woman looks like the butcher from payday 2
This is some black mirror shit
First!
First?
want a free piece of advice? fix your thumbnails, they dont spark interest, way to broad. People wanna know what they get into when they decide to click on a video. The thumbnail should be what a trailer is to a movie. Good luck guys!
PIN PLS IM FIRST
I'll pin you to the wall :)
Wtf 😬
I was in zagreb about a month ago and this museum s boring. Go to the ethnographic museum that one is great.
