- MOMENT Ukrainian troops destroy Russian tanks hiding in residential gardens with deadly missiles.
The attack took place in the village of Zirkuni in the north-eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv Oblast as occupying forces attempt to retake lost positions in the area.
Russian troops invaded Ukraine on 24th February in what the Kremlin is still calling a "special military operation". Today marks the 89th day of the campaign.
From 24th February to 23rd May, the total combat losses of Russian troops stand at around 29,200 personnel, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian military also claims that Russia has lost 1,293 tanks, 3,166 armoured fighting vehicles, 604 artillery systems, 201 multiple launch rocket systems, 93 anti-aircraft systems, 204 warplanes, 170 helicopters, 2,206 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, 13 vessels, 476 unmanned aerial vehicles, 43 units of special equipment, and 110 cruise missiles.

@@BeenTooTired Yes ,but they are cheap to replace. What we have seen a lot (mostly from Ukranian side but the russians are taking a note)is the use of civilian commercial drons. The same ones a lot of people have at home , because they are durt cheap. There are videos of people using comman models to spot russian positions and calling arty on them. It works , becase most models (arround 150-200 USD) have no problem flying up to 100m altetute. The batteries dont last long but its long enaugh to check on the enemy. Its actully quite faster then calling recon plane or hilo and safer.

It's (unfortunately) a new era of warfare. I heard someone state that due to the advancement of drones and far-range missiles, that warships are floating coffins, tanks are land-roaming coffins, and planes are flying coffins.
Depends on how the commanders are utilizing the tools available. War strategy is not a 1 dimensional or 2 dimensional art. With adequate air superiority and use of drone technology, enough protection can be had for either side to negate the advantages of same technologies being employed by the other side.

For example, all the houses you see on the video may not be existing legally. Pretty often people here prefer not to register their building to avoid taxes. So, how do this possible to help them to rebuild the house if all they have by the book is a piece of land?

We may be small but it looks pretty obvious to me our tech is far more advanced and our forces are very well trained on how to use it. The only thing that's worrying is nukes. But if Putin hit us, our subs would absolutely flatten a lot of Russian cities.

This town reminds me of the Polish one my great-grandparents fled from in WW1. Lots of agriculture, simple homes, a peaceful way of life. All eviscerated and demolished by a needless war. Yeah, they can surely hit moving tanks; if using a drone, it even has an auto guiding system, so do the Kamikaze drones. They aim themselves at the tank. (No escape, no missed targets)
It's just much cheaper to hit a stationary target using artillery, like here.
I'm amazed how professional the Ukrainian army is, with pin point accuracy and no wasted ammo. I do know they have been training with modern militaries for 8 years. Looks like both trainer and trainee sides did a great job.

What really amazes me is that they honestly must've thought that
1- nobody saw them driving down the middle of the road and reversing into some gardens with their massive tanks,
2- even if 1 didn't apply and absolutely nobody saw them coming, Ukranian reconnaissance would also be unable to notice the massive trails they left behind in soft soil.
Not to mention the drifts of garbage and debris spilling out from the edges of the forests where they "hide". They're pigs and their own filth gives away their positions.

Without air dominance (the actual kind) - it sure is
Tanks were basically considered outdated by the end of WW1 as all the countries had invented weapons that could destroy them, from antitank grenades to armor penetrating rifles and direct fire artillery. The solution to keep tanks relevant was to make them as fast as possible and as heavily armored as possible on the front, so they could reposition quickly and force you to fire on their heavily armored front where the tanks have a shot at surviving. Infantry explosives could still get through that, but with trucks you could keep up with the tank and drop off infantry to protect the tanks from other infantry. However, the invention of the bazooka and RPG changed that as infantry could now shoot their explosives at the tank from a distance, so after WW2 tanks were again outdated. However, in the fifties tank designers started replacing steel tanks with composite armor that would spread the impact of a rocket strike, making them immune to infantry rockets. Rocket designers then simply got around that by creating rockets with tips that would melt through the tank armor and explode inside, so in the seventies tanks had again become obsolete. Tank designers then in thr eighties started covering tanks in explosive plates that would explode the rocket before it got to the "skin" of the tank. At this point NATO decided tanks were getting too stupidly expensive for the amount of killing power they give, what’s even the point of having them if every ten years driving one becomes suicidal? So they started slowly phasing out the Abrams and Leopard tanks (though new versions continued to be made in small numbers for intervention wars like Iraq) and instead refocused on planes and attack helicopters. The Russians however kept building tanks, so the US created the Javelin to destroy them. The Russian tanks have thinnest armor and no explosive plates on top, so the Javelin missiles simply fly up and hit the tank from above. It is basically a death sentence for any tank to face a Javelin, it kills 93% of tanks it hits with the first shot. Now Russia is learning the hard way that tanks are outdated once again.

those are ukrainian T-72M1 tanks (from poland, with some ERA attached latter), or some T-72B captured a couple of months ago in the north, you can clearly see their "camouflage" with pixelated yellow white pattern (better when the camera zoom in from above), which is used by ukrainian vehicles. Russian tanks and other vehicles are painted dark green, and DNR and LPR vehicles captured from Ukrainian forces have this camouflage removed to avoid confusion, both also add the letters Z, O, or V. so, the artillery that attacks them is Russian,
And pretty sure those are russian Krasnopol or Kitolov-2M or KM-8 Gran presition munition, all laser guided, maybe from this very drone.

I can't fight and I'd probably be a massive liability in combat, so I'll leave the fighting for those who can and will. I can't heal people and I'm ashamed to say I wouldn't have the stomach for it, so I'll leave the healing for those qualified and able.
I can however build and repair things and that is what I will do. When the last shot has rung out and the dust has settled, I will be there with a tool box and do what I can to fix what has been broken. That is my vow.

The ability to detect armored vehicles witgin a 50km radius from your position is in reach of your average unit sized soldiers. Giving those coordinates to a unit capable of reaching out qnd touching that armor has never been easier. Armor isn't finished. But if you're going to use it as an asset, you're going to need to protect it from such attacks.
