  • Ukrainian army chiefs are showing off the remarkable destruction of four Russian tanks in as many minutes by a single missile operator.
    Newsflash obtained footage of the devastation from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) last night (Monday, 25th April).
    The General Staff of the AFU said: "In four minutes, four tanks were destroyed.
    "Calculation of Stugna-P.
    "Izyum direction."
    Newsflash also obtained a statement from the Joint Forces Operation reading: "In Donetsk and Luhansk directions, Ukrainian defenders continue to defend our land.
    "During the current day, 25th April, the Joint Forces' troops successfully repelled six enemy attacks. Thanks to their skilful actions and prowess, our soldiers inflicted losses upon the Russian occupiers.
    "In particular, Ukrainian defenders destroyed four tanks, five artillery systems, 13 armoured vehicles, 15 motor vehicles, two fuel tankers and one anti-aircraft gun.
    "Air defence units shot down two planes and three Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles in the sky of Ukrainian Donbas.
    "Ukrainian soldiers continue to bravely and heroically restrain the aggressor's invasion!
    "Together to victory!"
    The Stugna-P is a Ukrainian anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system developed by the Luch Design Bureau, which is headquartered in Kyiv.
    It was famously used earlier this month, on 5th April, to down a Russian Kamov Ka-52 attack helicopter.
    Izium is a city and district in the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine. The city of Izium is currently under Russian occupation.
    From 2014 until 2018, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) was called the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
    The ATO was a military counter-offensive launched by Ukraine against pro-Russian forces in April 2014.
    The footage of the multiple strikes comes as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow later today.
    The meeting will take place amid the warning by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov of the "real" threat of World War Three breaking out.
    Lavrov also said there was a "considerable" risk of the conflict escalating to nuclear weapons, but Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba responded that his Russian counterpart was just trying to "scare the world off supporting Ukraine".
    Russia earlier claimed responsibility for the destruction of six substations powering Ukrainian railways, which the Kremlin said were used to transport foreign weapons.

    In case anyone's wondering why the writing is in Arabic, the weapon they're using is the Stuhna-P, a domestically produced laser-guided missile. They were mostly produced for export with a large shipment due to be sent to Iraq, but in the wake of recent events, they've had to put that deal on hold and have been using the missiles themselves.

    For those wondering. The reason they aim above the targeted tank before firing is because the Stugna is a laser targeted and tracking missile and Russian T-80 tanks and some other Russian vehicles are equipped with Shtora-1. Which is a piece of equipment used to warn crews that there is a laser pointed at them and then the system can actively jam the guidance laser. Aiming above the tank until the final few seconds doesn't' give Shtora enough time to activate thus rendering it useless.

    Interesting that you can see the interface on arabic language. This is due to fact that these Stugna systems were produced for export order of some arabic country. The last batch of launchers was produced when the war started, so all the systems intended for export were redirected straight to ukrainian military, without relabeling and changing the language of interface. Operators were trained to fire it on Ukrainian interface byheart, so they know what it says without translation. (There are many videos with same system in green camouflage with ukrainian interface for comparison. It looks the same).
    After such performance they can expect increasing their initial order and more sales around the world. :)

    The Stugna is ridiculously outclassed by the Javelin. Same engagement purpose, but inferior in every conceivable metric to the AAWS-M Javelin FGM-148 (with exception to acquisition cost).
    Nevertheless, the fact that the system is even being compared to FGM-148 says allot about this Ukranian-designed system. Taking out four tanks in under four minutes is damn impressive, and shows that Ukraine's defense industry can stand toe-to-toe with anything from Russia.

    • @sv1201
      @sv1201 Před rokem +10

      Unlike the Stugna, the Javelin is entertaining to use. It's small, compact. Kinda like a bottle rocket, only it destroys tanks! :) America makes warfare fun again! :P
      Now if you're going camping and you just happen to see a Russian T-14 driving around while you're setting up your tent the only thing you have to do is mount the Javelin on your shoulder, pop a rocket in the thing, aim, and BOOM. Tank is dead...

      @felipealcayaga Před rokem +3

      Stugna is cheaper and is perfect to setup an ambush, you can deploy 3 or 4 tripodes at safer distances by wire. Javelin is more brutal and effective but exposes the shooter to enemy fire. Differents weapons to archive the same goal in different ways and different circumstances.

    The last one correctly identified as a tank. That first one had the silhouette of a 2S19 MSTA 152mm Self Propelled Artillery piece. Someone else asked why is there no infantry support and why the vehicles just sat there. Combined Arms seems to be very lacking with all of the Russian echelons so far. Their training has been shown to be extremely lacking as well.

    • @martmet8688
      @martmet8688 Před 2 lety +130

      Not only that, training is an issue for sure, but what a lot of people are misunderstanding about this is that when you are attacking or moving, you may (should) get infantry support. But when you're not moving you can't just pile up at the same place so artillery can attack and get all of them at the same spot.
      And you can't just stay in and burn gas as you're waiting. It's probably freezing in those metal cans when there isn't any engine going.
      So they spread the tanks, and hide them in the trees/forest or behind buildings. The crew may not be in, they probably dug trenches around, but they are not far for sure.
      But then I'm not sure why people ask why they do not retaliate. The crew does not live in these 24/7 especially when they are waiting for orders that could come in days. I mean it takes time and the right equipment to know where the attack comes from and you don't want to be in these when you're hit, so it would be suicidal to jump in and look for targets after the first hit. Surprise attacks are incredibly effective, and this videos shows how much it is in real life.
      This isn't a video game. At least not for the Russians in this scenario.

    This is definitely an anti tank war...it redefines how the javelin really works well and also the anti tank missions and training. Truly amazing how technology and training can redefine millions in steel armor plating reduced to rubble in seconds. I nvr was near tanks in my 11 yr air force carreer however I've seen destroyed vehicles in Iraq and can honestly say this war with Ukraine seems a lot worse. Especially with how many tanks are being losses at a higher rate. The Russians just don't have the training or preparedness for this. GO UKRAINE!!!!! push them and push them hard and don't stop! Praying for you 🙏 rock 🎸 on!

      iTS an ARTILLERY war, and whatever you say the Russians have a damn sight more. Its why bit by bit they gain territory and Ukraine dosent , Cant claim those areas Russia withdrew from as Ukraine gain, Russia never expected to take Kiev with only 40'000 troops vs a city of 4 million, it was plan A ,it only partly failed but worked in getting Ukraine to at least Negotiate. So they went to PLAN B ,concentrate on east and hold south.
