Ingredients:
4 medium Carrots
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 cup liquid aminos
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 garlic cloves finely chopped
1 tsp liquid smoke
Cook in boiling water 10- 15 minutes depending on the size of the carrots before adding to marinade.
Marinade for 12 to 24 hours.
Marinade no longer than 3 days.

The entire time I'm making these I'm thinking, Not going to taste like hot dogs!!! As they began to brown in the pan, I began thinking, It Smells like Hot Dogs...as I ate the first one, I thought, Hot Damn! These taste like Hot Dogs!!!

I literally went into the kitchen around 1 PM EST, today and followed the steps you gave. I didn't have liquid aminos, so I used low sodium soy sauce instead. I also didn't have any liquid smoke. So it was omitted it. I had 9 carrots, so I used twice the amount of seasoning ingredients.
Well, I couldn't wait to try it. I just went and cooked a thinner carrot dog. WOOWWWW!!!! I can't believe how much it tastes like a hotdog and NOT a carrot!!! No carrot taste. I ate it with mustard and ketchup on a whole wheat slice of bread. I also did not have any buns. I WAS NOT disappointed. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm making these for Memorial Day tomorrow for my family to taste. I think they will be pleasantly surprised.
I'm going to get two bags of carrots so that I can prep some for my grandson. He loves hot dogs. I'd prefer this to hotdogs any day.

I had my first vegan carrot dog at Planta restaurant in Toronto Canada many years ago and it was absolutely Delicious and tasted like a bbq hot dog. Very memorable.

Having recently discovered my health issues had to do with histamine's generated in/increased by certain foods and have had to stop eating processed meats, I will gladly give this a try. Much better to have something I'd love without a debilitating physical reaction. You don't have to be a vegan to need alternative food choices. Thanks for sharing. Carrot dogs are legit. I have tried different recipes as a non-vegan and all of them have been good. I even had a friends 6 yr old try it one time when we made it and she was like it tastes like a hot dog.

Carrot dogs are fy!! With a nice soft bun and toppings, the flavor of the carrot and texture...it's perfect. Plus I can eat more than one and no junk ingredients like real hotdogs.

I made this and while it doesn't take exactly like a hot dog, it is really good. Ikea makes a veggie hot dog that tastes like a potato but they should make this. It's really easy to make and doesn't taste like a carrot at all

Wow! This is an amazong idea! I’ve gone to a no meat, no dairy, no sugar, no gluten diet for health reasons. When I’m with my family (especially down at the coast during the summer), we eat crap like hot dogs and hamburger, along with BBQ. I tried it cause my phat ass loves hotdogs. These are....kinda good. Cooking the carrots to the right doneness if critical and if cook them on a smokin hot grill or pan. Truth be told, I am back to the Angus ballparks but I will try again. How about that crib!!
I boiled my carrots for only 10 minutes. They were firm and the fork pierced with some resistance.
But, I noticed they continue to soften while in the marinade so, I would suggest less boiling time based on the size of your "dogs."
I just found you, yes I've made carrotdogs before. I like to marinate some browned onions too. When you make vegan cooking fun, you feel you aren't missing out.
I have seen a lot of different varieties of this veggie dog but I still haven't tried it myself yet but I can't wait to try one day. The only thing I worry about is getting that texture right like a morning star hot dog got that perfect texture and a good flavor but they have a lot more ingredients in them

I think I would have to do them on the charcoal grill. Its a good recipie to make use of extra 🥕. And I guess the toppings (beyond ketchup/mustard) might help out in the end too🤩
