Got the 256gb lavender S23, im blown away by everything this has to offer, its a small-ish phone with zero compromises, great battery life, and runs everything i threw at it.
I'm all for games and emulation and this thing performs, if you can afford it, go for it i promise you will not be disappointed.

I’m in love with the lavender! I’m actually planning to pick one up later this year when the prices go down a bit. I bought an S22 last year but was very disappointed with the battery life and overheating problems that I had to sell it and go back to my iPhone. But thankfully it looks like the S23 heavily improves upon that based on what people are saying.
Yeah, the s23 is really worth it. It is on the iphone 14 pro level for half of the price.
Same, I traded in my s22 for an s23 lavender!!! It's so much better omg no heating the batter is much better and everything is just smoother and better.

great video! and I noticed diablo immortal there. right now DI is one of the reason to upgrade from my S9. Can you let me know how's the battery usage for playin DI? like how many percent per 1hour game time?

Bought it thanks to your video! and for DI at lowest setting, without wifi, on 4G+, its 20% for 1 hour gameplay (13%/hour on wifi).
And my gf love the camera so much (she uses iphone 14 pro max) that she now used my phone for IG pictures instead of her iphone.

I used to be a heavy Note user and multitask all the time, but over time as im getting older, i started to appreciate minimalism and can do with this device. Form factor and feeling is all im going for this time instead of specs on paper

Being a compact flagship with minimal compromises is really great! Especially since Asus gave up on small flagships (because well, sales) S23 is closest we can get to a well rounded pocket friendly device…I mean, S23 is smaller than Pixel 7a and nearly identical to S10e thanks to slimmer bezels
S10e is smaller, its the same as the s10.

I gave up on screen protectors on my Ultras. I picked up the S23U a month ago and didn't even look at them. After watching this, I think I could live with the S23 base model and my Tab S8 Ultra. I use the tablet more than the phone. Nice video.
Yup, that’s pretty much what I ended up doing after I failed a few installs.
Get the s23 plus
it was really hard, I had to use both screen protectors that Samsung gave on my S23 Ultra
The Ultra is just too big for me, the Plus is a good size but without being unwieldly
It is for a lot of people, after using the S23 I’ve been loving the smaller form factor

I bought the S23 plus, upgraded from S21 Ultra. Everything is pretty good compared to my S21 Ultra.
The only thing I miss is the camera on the S21 Ultra, it has an amazing camera. I've
tested it on both phones, S21 Ultra takes macro shots and has better image quality (at
least for photos not talking about videos).
Otherwise, everything is good. I like it 👌

Nice review. Almost all of the large tech reviewers ignored the S23 in favor of the Ultra. I upgraded from the base model S21 4 days ago and the difference in battery life is striking! I tried the Pixel 7a before giving the S23 a try but the 7a's battery life was worse than the S21's so I sent it back. The S23 isn't as sexy as the Ultra but when you can get it for 400 bucks with no trade-in required like I did the S23 could be sweetest deal of them all.

It's great but I hate the placing of the power and volume buttons on the same side of the phone. I'm constantly hitting the power button by accident.

I think the lower ram may actually help battery life. After trying to ultra with 12gb it didn't seem to make any difference with speed or performance. 512gb storage option would have been nice though

How's the battery life of the S23 base model vs. the S22 Ultra? I can't decide which one to choose.
It’s better than the S23 Ultra for sure. Even though it has a smaller battery, the S23’s SOC is much more efficient. Especially if you’re comparing it to an Exynos S22 Ultra.

I daily both of those phones and the battery life on the S23 smokes the S22 Ultra.

Another reviewer mentioned that the 256GB SKU of this device has much faster storage speed vs the 128GB SKU. Do you have any thoughts on this?
Correct. I mentioned it in this video, the UFS 4.1 is only available in the 256GB and up variants. - Though, realistically it doesn't make much of a difference, if any. I found no issues using this phone vs. something like the S23 Ultra which does have UFS 4.1. I think it'd be safe to say you're good with 128GB, unless you're looking for more storage. I wouldn't purchase the 256GB just because it's faster, personally.

I think it's a fantastic phone, if my opinion means anything to you. You obv will lose out on the larger display, and S-Pen, though.

I still hate that Samsung got rid of micro SD. Im stuck on s20.

I think you should wait a few months for some price cuts which isn't such a big deal with Samsung's promise of 5 OS upgrades. This is an excellent mobile phone in my opinion, for those of us who want a more compact, powerful, all-rounder, flagship mobile phone. I'm waiting for the Pixel 8 to be released in the Autumn and will decide on the S23 or the Pixel 8. At the moment, I just think the S23 price is far too expensive.

@@frankihatch Correct, a lot due, most of that's just due to them editing on a Mac/ having AirDrop being so accessible & the video capabilities on iPhone being quite ahead of other smartphones in the market.
I know a lot of Tech CZcamsrs who use iPhone, but they'd rather be on something else. For some it just makes more sense in terms of a "business decision" to keep the iPhone because it helps out their workflow.
Thankfully, I've never really been bound by anything as I don't really have a preference for what computer I use, or smartphone, and it's aloud me to use different kinds of devices throughout this whole journey.
Still finding what works best for me - and whether or not that's an iPhone in a year or 2's time, so be it?
I think people need to separate preference from opinion. Because I could use one device for many reasons, but can recommend something and vouch for it for others. No harm no fowl unless you're lying to your audience, or are shilling companies secretly under the table. Which I wouldn't do.

Let's be honest and step aside from all this hype - camera performance on S23 series is just disappointing. I fell for small, compact size, but S23 had all same issues Samsung phones have had for years now (shutter lag/motion blur because of it, choppy videos, weird color grading, unpredictable results...). Yeah, it's because I chose the cheapest one, I was thinking. Returned it, went for S23 Ultra - it's the same damn thing ! It's cool for that zoom experiments, for taking pictures of buildings or flowers, but take a pic of anything with even slight movement (kid, pet...) - you'll end up with blurry mess. Camera performance is mediocre at best, for point and shoot photography/taking videos, this shouldn't be acceptable even on midrange devices.
I made mistake "upgrading" from Note10+, besides 120Hz, there isn't anything S23 series can do that Note10+ couldn't handle. As I don't care about battery life, I regret not buying S22 Ultra (somehow, it has better camera results then S23/Ultra)

He has sold his S23 ultra for S23 😢😢😢😂😂. I have both 256 GB. What I found sound both high quality but volume is low in S23, also battery life almost 1 hr behind S23 ultra. Otherwise S23 a cute device I have ever used.
