- Today we take a look at the latest release from Accurascale, the GWR 78XX Manor Class, their first steam locomotive model.
This example we look at is 7812 'Earlstoke Manor' in BR Lined Green with late crest. This locomotive is preserved by the Earlstoke Manor Fund, and is preserved on the Severn Valley Railway.

i think my favorite part of these models is the correctly painted smokeboxes. it really adds that element of realism that most models lack

This is a very nice looking model which has its boiler and running board made out of die cast metal which makes it very heavy and powerful. I really like this model which Accurascale has done with their version of the GWR 7800 Manor Class Peter. They have really nailed the look of the real the locomotives.
They have indeed nailed this model, as they have done with the Deltics, 92 and 37. They are setting the standard that other manufacturers should be aiming for
@@class47peter Accurascale is literary on fire because of their fantastic looking models and reasonable prices on each model. Plus, they are doing a fundraiser for prostate cancer which is kind of Accurascale to do this charity to help people get the necessary treatment they need for this particular cancer. Accurascale's goal is 10 grand pounds of money for the prostate cancer charity.
If you want lamps i recommend you have a look at Modelu. They produce lamps that go over the lamp irons so you dont have to glue them on. You can get your crews from them too.
Ive got 7802 and have 3 more on order. 02 is phenomenal. Cant wait for the decoder to arrive. Ill be in my loft for a few days playing.
I'll have a look at the ModelU lamps, having them fit on the lamps is what I'm looking fir, I can change the train codes and not have the lamps permanently fixed
Good review here peter, overall a very nice model from accurascale and nice to see some steam locomotives from them, even though they have announced more I do wonder which other steam locomotives they may do in the future, nice inclusion of the opening water filler cap on the tender, that would go really well with the dapol water tower models if they are still being sold today, good to see a headboard provided with the model, definitely would like to see more models provided with some form of headboard, overall a very nice model and one I would consider in the future if they are still available or a new batch is produced, keep up the great work peter.

More models supplied with headboards would be great. Looking forward to their Buck Jumpers. I'd love to see Accura take on the Saint, 4-6-0 County or even the 8F
Great review Peter of an absolutely superb model of what I would say is an unsung hero of the GWR along with the Grange class. She looked fantastic with your blood & custard MK1s. I think its brilliant that you are modelling your own platforms for the station. You will be able to get it how you want it to be. Best regards Gary.
