The people of northern Morocco speak about 3-4 languages
and south Morocco about 4-5
so the average is 3-5 languages
but there is some moroccans can speak about 7 or 8 languages.

Iam Morrocan , actually I speak 4 languages fluently : Arabic , French , English & Spanish iam not using spanish in my daily life so I have to speak it again and iam improving my hindi /urdu laguages besides I stuided italien for 3 months when I was a teenager and I like turkish also . I am Moroccan. I speak Amazigh, my mother tongue and Darija, and a little of Standard Arabic. Foreign languages. I know French, but I do not like to speak it because it is the language of the colonizer. I speak Spanish, Dutch and Italian. Languages I learned only with friends at work. I like to see different cultures. This is why you find Moroccans loved wherever they go.

I grew up in tangier and back then most people spoke Spanish because the north of Morocco was a Spanish colony. Plus it's so close to Spain (12 km of sea, so no obstacles) that we actually watched Spanish TV programs.
But since then a lot of people came to the north from the rest of the country so the population got diluted with French speakers.
I'm French-Moroccan and I speak 5 languages.
I visited Indonesia a few years back and loved it (Bukit Lawang, Medan, pulau Samosir, Bali, Lombok and Gili Gede).

Fos'ha is classic Arabic, the universal Arabic, the one taught in school in every Arab country. It has the same vocabulary and grammar in all Arab speaking country.
Darija is everyday spoken Moroccan Arabic, the local Arabic, just as every Arab speaking country have their dialect, except in other countries they don't call it darija.
For example a Lebanese speaking their dialect and a Moroccan speaking theirs can barely understand each other.
Yet both dialects are derived from Fos'ha. But if they write each other letters, they can understand each other perfectly, because the written language is actual Fos'ha.

There is only one Arabic language common to all Arabs called "Lougha Al fos'sha". It is the classical, literary and written language.
However, each country has one or more spoken declensions (depending on the region). These are the different darija called dialectal Arabic.
To which is added other native languages different from Arabic such as Amazigh in North Africa, Kurdish in Syria and Iraq.
Then come as other official languages the European languages resulting from colonization: French for North Africa, Lebanon and Syria, Spanish for the north and south of Morocco and English for the other countries of the Middle-East.

Al fusha is formal arabic that every single arabic country teaches its students and darija is the hardest arabic dialect that most arabs don't understand as for other arabic dialects they are understood easily by Moroccans since these dialects are way closer to formal arabic instead of being mixed too much with other languages like french, spanish, english, amazigh.. just like daijra is a mix between these languages and more. so if an arab struggled to understand a Moroccan we usually either speak in their language or communicate with them in formal arabic that is different than dialects and it is known, understood and getting teached in every single arab country

Many people choose to hide Berber because it is seen as being rural and traditional....it is recently recognized as an official language in the country.

So that you understand , there are two types of Arabic we can speak in Morocco the ``Darija`` is Moroccan Arabic dialect , basically there are no rules we use Arabic letters but there is no grammatical or linguistic structure to it ,and it`s mixed with the Berber language ,French and Spanish as well but just some key words , and there is the standard Arabic the language of the Quran that we all love and cherish , and there is the French language which is mainly a product of colonialism , the new generation can speak English fluently as well , but if you go to the north of Morocco a lot of people can speak Spanish due to the proximity to Spain , the history of the two countries with the Moors and the Moriscos and last but not least the Berbers or Amazigh are the native inhabitant of Morocco and make up close to 40 percent of the country and the official language is called Tamazight and it`s widely spoken in the country .

In our daily lives, we use the Moroccan dialect, but in schools and formal events, we use the formal one.
They speak classical Arabic and Moroccan dialect and they also understand different middle east dialects.

بلادنا أصلها ليس عربي نحن فقط نتكلم اللغة العربية و العرب و أصل العرب هم عرب قحطان و عرب عدنان و موطنهم في السعودية و اليمن أو الخليج العربي و اليمن و اللغة العربية جأت من عندهم و إنتشرو في دول إفريقيا و بلاد الشام و العراق و نشرو فيها اللغة العربية هذه الدول أصلها ليس عربية و الدول الإفريقية التي تتكون من الصومال و جيبوتي و جزر القمر و تشاد لا توجد فيها قبائل عربية فقط نشرو فيها اللغة العربية و توجد قبائل أوروبية قليلة في كل من المغرب الكبير و موريتانيا و الصحراء و مصر و السودان و بلاد الشام و العراق و القبائل العربية توجد كثيراً في الخليج العربي و نحن لا نرتدي الكشخه أو نأكل الكبسة أو نركب على البعير في صحراء الربع الخالي أو نشرب الشاي العربي و ثقافتنا أبداً لا تشبه ثقافتهم ثقافاتنا مغاربية أو مغربية و إفريقية و أمازيغية لأنهم السكان الأصليين ولا توجد قبائل عربية في البلدان الإفريقية السود هم فقط نشرو لهم العرب لغتهم و أيضاً بلاد الشام و العراق ليسو عرب لأن قبائلهم ليست من القبائل العربية بل سريانية و أشورية و فينيقية و أكادية و كلدانية و كنعانية و سومرية و كردية و إنتشرو فيهم القبائل العربية لكنهم قليلين في هذه البلدان و فيها الكثير من الأعراق الأوروبية و هذه البلدان لغتهم هي اللغة العربية لكن هم ليسو عرب، مثلاً الولايات المتحدة و كندا و أستراليا و نيوزيلاندا و جنوب إفريقيا... أيضاً لغتهم هي اللغة الانجليزية لكنهم ليسو إنجليز و الولايات المتحدة و كندا و أستراليا و نيوزيلاندا... أغلبيتهم من أعراق إنجليزية من وطن الإنجليز إنجلترا و الإنجليز من أسس دولهم و يوجد القليل من الأمريكيين و الكنديين من السكان الأصليين الذين يسمون الهنود الحمر و أذخلوهم الإنجليز للمسيحية تماماً كما أذخل العرب الأمازيغ للإسلام و اللغة الإنجليزية جأت من إنجلترا و الأفارقة الذين يتكلمون بالإنجليزية لا يوجد لديهم قبائل إنجليزية و الإنجليز لغتهم و يوجد القليل من الإنجليز في اسكتلندا و ويلز و إرلندا الشمالية و إرلندا لكنهم لا يقولون أنهم إنجليز بل يقولون أنهم من الولايات المتحدة أو كنديين...
