Actually somewhat fitting. Arlo's arc centers around his trust of systems, and John's arc centers around his trust of people.

My favourite point of camparison between Arlo and John are their attitudes towards their expectations and responsibilities. John has hated the expectations and responsibilities that come with power since the beginning because he doesn't see himself as capable of handling them, so John avoided them. Arlo, in the beginning, had always taken the expectations and responsibilities very seriously and, in the beginning, clearly enjoyed them, though towards the end he comes to hate them, he still takes them seriously. It's only after he realized why John didn't want to be king that Arlo realised the system was flawed.

PLEASE! This was indeed my reaction when I started re-reading Unordinary-
And re-reading it just made me think on why I USED to hate him..(He is one of favs now tho)
This is so real omg. I recently reread the series and he was such an a*hole oml- I love him now but rereading it made me remember why I (and many others) hated him lol

And then Sera would likely find out and later beat him till Arlo passes out

@@itzmehDevi what I meant by that is that John and Arlo are very different with many things, but also similar when it comes to others
@@itzmehDevi "-just like each other when it comes to society" I disagree with that, John has a lot of power, but tries to never use it at all unless he "has to", he did go off the rails, I know, but that was because they pushed him too far, and that was inevitable. Anyhow, John realized slowly-though "he" did not want too- that what he was doing is wrong, and to control his power and use it for good, rather than nearly killing people all of the time, or watching people get beat up and "not be able to do much". Arlo, on the other hand, was raised to always follow the heirarchy (and authorities) and trust in it, and that everyone should naturally follow it by his aunt, but in the later chapters he slowly realizes that it is bogus, and tries to be a better person and not stick to the heirarchy and authorities as much.
But with some things I agree that they are similar.
@@Hopeful_Thomas_33AD the thing they are similar is that they are both results of the society.. opposite results in my opinion.
John became mad with power cause he was bullied at first in New Bostin and then in Wellston.. The bullying is because of the society and hierarchy
And Arlo was raised like that by his family and society
Honestly looking forward to how Arlo progresses in the next season now that he's coming to terms with the inherent flaws of the Hierarchy
But that boi still believes in heircachy :')

i was wondering if you could do some fan theories for season 3. like John's maternal heritage, headmaster's plans and story arc, Ember and authorities going after Remi, Blyke and Isen, Seraphine and her sister's arc and also what the hell is going on in school in absence of John to have caused those last panels of season 2.

If you think about it John and Arlo are pretty similar not sure John was weak but he became stronger and then you started becoming like everybody else it’s interesting
I know this video is like 6 months old and I'm just like arlo could have just done this this at the school the first time they bumped in to each other but noooo
Still trying to catch up so I can't totally watch with out spoilers but personally I really like Arlo he just got overthrow where I'm at John hasn't been revealed as the new king though and sera is pissed at John. I'm not a fan of John he's really passing me off
Arlo and his goons pushed him till he broke- as just about anyone would do when in that circumstance- but that was intended. (Being PO with John I meant at the end there.)

@@3mma_2020 I know, but he had progressively degraded from the point I spoke about.
@@Hopeful_Thomas_33AD yeah that's true but he's just reverting back to his old self and he isn't trying to stop himself, to have some control like before.
@@3mma_2020 he is trying very hard to control his power now, rather than bottling it up, or immediately harming others- I know, I was mearly talking about up until then.
