    We love ours. My sister can easily hitch and unhitch. Since we use our RV to do dog shows we are usually parked in a parking lot and people will park right in front of you. We have a long bed so I have found myself having to hookup from the side. No problem with this hitch. I recommend to everyone.

    The Andersen is the 1st hitch I had. I loved it for the fact that I could hookup at an angle and on uneven ground. The grease less is nice also. I just purchased a gen y executive 5th to gooseneck. Hoping to get it hooked up and try it out soon. Hoping for a bit smoother ride over bumps.

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  Před 3 lety +2

      Nice, I have actually been looking at the Gen Y. Do you happen to know if they work with short beds? Also hard to justify $ when the Andersen works great. Thanks for watching.

    • @m1ll3r86
      @m1ll3r86 Před 3 lety +1

      @@AdventureEndeavor I do believe they will work well with the short bed. I have watched a few videos even one's where they talked and did a walk through of gen y. I liked my Andersen. My only thing I did not like was that there really is no cushion at all between the camper and truck connection. That's my main reason for wanting to try the gen y and the fact that there will be no hitch to remove from the truck.

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  Před 3 lety +2

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes you will probably have clearance issues. The pin box will most likely hit the tailgate. You'll have to measure and use andersens website.

      It's been pretty good overall, we have hit the trailer on the trucks bed rails a couple times. We were offroading quite a bit though.

  • @tombrizzi8904
    @tombrizzi8904 Před 3 lety +1

    What do you feel about the "fixed" tow point has an 8" offset (you mentioned 4 on the hitch, 4 on the king pin adapter. With this hitch the weight during towing is not being put over the axle where the truck's gooseneck ball is. The whole reason for slider hitches is it allows you to offset the load and save your window during low speed manuvering, but the sliders move the hitch back to the proper load placement during normal trailering. No concerns that the Andersen is fixed at this non-optimal load balance point?

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  Před 3 lety +2

      Nope not at all, you are 100% right though. I think this towed just as well of better than our B&W. I think it's hard to notice the 8". Especially with a heavy diesel motor up front. Thanks for watching.

    Is there another way of attaching it to the bed of truck (standard 5th wheel rails)? I do not have a goose neck ball in my bed.

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, Andersen makes a hitch that uses the 5th wheel rails. I believe that it's made out of steel and weighs 75lbs. Hopefully this was helpful.

They say its rated higher but it's not. I have pictures of the failure. Email me at rjmeade@verizon.net and I'll share them.
