I am from Canada. Four years ago, I was going to South Bend for my sons' baseball tournament. I contacted his office before hand and asked if he would meet with me and my boy. He invited us to his office, and was as gracious as anyone could be. Bright, intellectual, articulate and so gracious and kind. What you see in his public persona is sincere. I hope he gets the Democratic nod.

If actually listens to what the analysts have to say, and articulates himself well, while also being firm in the indirect methods of pressure the US can pursue, he should do fine. Just because he doesn't cuss or act irrationally doesn't make him weak, it makes him calculated, and a calculated opponent will beat you more times than an impulsive or irrational one.

I'm pretty liberal and registered democrat, but it's nice to see when someone can recognize there is a good person that just has different views politically. If only all people could do that. There is so much hate going around and I try to not just focus on someone's political stance because it's just a difference in opinion. When did it become such a bad thing to disagree. The only time I have a problem with people that have different political views (or anyone for that matter) is when they're actually harming people.

The Studebaker Plant was a MILLION sq. ft. auto manufacturer that closed in 1963. That thing stood EMPTY my whole life as a big ugly broken-windowed reminder of lost jobs in South Bend. Pete was the first guy in 50 years to tackle it, and by working with Mike Pence and convincing him to direct efforts to help, it is now a beautiful tech facility with room to grow. There's more, but only so much space and all you required is one thing he did for the community... And it's a doozy.
Sir give andrew yang a chance. The man has over 70+ policies and is a true unifier. Pete Buttigeng is smart and intellectual....but he's an establishment candidate that will be influenced by corporate donors. He aint gonna change much.

I have only seen positive testimonials from South Bend citizens about Mayor Pete. Does he have any opposition in town? Or is he sort of universally loved? I've never seen a mayor with so many people vouching for him

Pete is really gaining momentum. An Afghanistan vet, Mayor of South Bend, Indiana. Went to Harvard, Rhodes scholar (went to Oxford) learned a few different languages. Is a pianist, can play quite well. Author. Well spoken, smart, considerate. Understands the hypocrisy with religion and has his faith. With all the chaos in Washington, politicians fighting within their own parties and vehemently with each other, it would be a much refreshing change to have "reason" in Washington. He advocates for change, not to discredit the parties, but to bring them together for the sole purpose of saving the US. With all the representatives we have in Washington, we should expect more progress instead of bickering. The US could have accomplished so much more in politics if it weren't for one party getting credit and the other party trying to dissuade that credit for fear their party loses points. That is just power struggle, not really helping the country. Pete does have more experience in politics than Trump and more executive experience than Pence. Im watching all interviews and going through youtube to view as many as I can. Extremely impressed!

In every interview you can see the change in the, in this case the host, approach to Buttigieg by the end of the interview. At first it's another politician they are forced to interview and by the end they all seem to be like "hey, I kind of like this guy."
