茨城県水戸市の大串貝塚ふれあい公園。
日本各地の伝承に登場する巨人、ダイダラボウ。そんな伝説の巨人が１５mを越える姿で公園の真ん中に佇む。鬼、大男、妖怪、時として信仰の対象ともなっているという。
柳田國男が「ダイダラ坊の足跡」でも取り上げたダイダラボッチ。呼び名はダイダラ坊、でいだらぼっち、ダイランボウ、だいだらぼう、でいらんぼう、だいらぼう、デエダラボッチ、デイラボッチ、デイラボッチャ、デーラボッチャ、デエラボッチ、デーラボッチ、タイタンボウ、デエデエボウ、デイデンボメ、ダイトウボウシ、レイラボッチ、大太法師、大太郎坊、大人弥五郎などきりがない。
ダイダラボウの体内にも入れちゃいます。
その巨人像の周りには貝塚、旧石器時代、縄文時代、弥生時代、古墳時代の復原住居などで当時の家族の暮らしが営まれている不思議な空間。その他に土器、土偶、埴輪、鹿、猪、犬、お尻少年、ナイキ帽少年などふんだんにあります。

Daedalabitch is a giant that appears in folklore throughout Japan.
This legendary giant, standing over 15 meters tall, stands in the middle of the park.
Daidarabotchi is said to be an ogre, a large man, a specter, and sometimes an object of worship.
Daidarabochi was also featured in Kunio Yanagida's "In the Footsteps of Daidarabochi.
Surrounding the giant statues are shell mounds and restored dwellings from the Paleolithic, Jomon, Yayoi, and Kofun eras, where the lives of the people of those times are still being lived in this mysterious space. There are also plenty of earthenware and clay figures.
