I came up with this cleaning idea later on. I am always thinking how to improve the unit.

How come you can't buy the silicone cover or water cleaning cap on their website?

Do you have a link where we can buy the silicone cup? I just got your vaporizer and used it yesterday. We are in North Carolina.

    My instructions (US) say:
"Allow the device to cool, You can tell by keeping the battery connected and the switch off. Once cool, rinse the bowl out with water via the plunger tube."
    My question is:
Should I do as instructed in the video and use the silicone cups and water while the unit is hot, as shown in the video? And if so, what temperature?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi. It is true, because not everyone purchase the cup. Without the cup it is dangerous to wash it when it is hotter then boiling temperature. The steam is hot, and can shoot back to the face of the person through the feeding tube.
This is how you can clean the device with the heat resistant silicone cup:
      How to use:
      - make sure the appliance is not clogged!
      - wear suitable protective equipment: gloves and mask! Oxalic acid vapour still escapes during the cleaning! Caution, risk of burns!
      - Switch off the appliance after use, but leave the battery connected.
      - wait until the appliance cools down to about 200°C / 400F.
      - remove the oxalic acid dispenser.
      - fill the silicone cap half full with distilled water, then turn the unit upside down and press the silicone cap firmly onto the dispenser tube.
      - keep the silicone cap firmly pressed down and turn the appliance upside down.
      - repeat the above.

Maybe the water should be distilled , because tap water would stain the vaporizer.

when i purchased mine the instruction was to wait until it cools to 80. are you suggesting the method in this video is better?

    • @instantvap5808
      @instantvap5808  Před rokem +1

Yes, it is in the instructions, because not everyone buys the washing silicone cap.
Without the silicone wash cap I don't recommend washing above 100 degrees because it is an accident hazard. The steam will backfire through the dispensing tube and can cause burns.
The silicone cap seals and therefore steam comes out through the outlet tube. When hot, around 200 degrees Celsius, the steam is better at dissolving the slag deposited inside the bowl.

I think my device is clogged up, how can i clean it? I tried cleaning it like it says in the manual, however i still see black soot in the chamber when i look down the dispensing tube. If i pour a little bit of water in the dispensing tube when the device is cold it only drips slowly out when i tip the device forward, should it flow freely?

    • @instantvap5808
      @instantvap5808  Před rokem

      Hello,
      What I recommend:
If the device is cold, you can: carefully pour water into the tube where the dispenser would go, and fill it until you either see it fill up, or until you see clear water flowing through the brass outlet pipe. Care must be taken not to get water around the tube, just into it, otherwise the machine's insulation will get wet and it won't work!
You should be aware that there is a steam drain pipe inside the kettle (if you look carefully, you can see towards the front of the bowl, inside), so it is natural that water cannot flow out of the outlet pipe unless the cup is overfilled over the top of the inner pipe.
If you see that the water is flowing freely through the outlet pipe, i.e. it is not clogged, turn the appliance upside down so that the pipe where the dispenser is normally placed is pointing downwards. The water will flow out of the bowl, and only a little will remain.
Then when you heat it up with the battery, the remaining little bit of water will boil out of it.
Anyway, if it clogs, the quickest way to clear it is to heat the outlet brass tube with a gas torch, and it will spit out the clog.

@@instantvap5808 Thank you, i will give it a try again today.

      I have tried the following:
      - cold machine + water pour + heat up the residue
      - hot machine + a bit of water
      - heating brass pipe with blow torch
If i try with oxalic acid smoke is coming out really slowly instead of "shooting out" as it used to. Is there anything else i can try besides opening the machine and trying to clear the blockage? I am not sure what went wrong, i used the machine according to the instructions, is it possible that it clogged up because we have to use Api Bioxal in EU? I have order those sillicone caps for cleaning to give it a try. I really liked the machine so if it wont work i will probably end up ordering another one just to rule out my mistake. :) Any other tips on unclogging the machine i have would be highly appreciated. Maybe i can use some cleaning agent when the machine is cold?

@@Smradac Hi, the problem is that Apibioxal have additional ingredients, like glucose, and that creates a caramell, and that insulates the bowl inside.
That apibioxal product is designed for dripping treatment, and although it writes also on the label vaporization too, it does not work, because you would need to clean the cup every time you vaporize.
So I suggets you to buy pure oxalic axcid dyhydrate, and it will work fine. Abowe 99,5% purity.
You neds to clean well the inside, remove most of the caramell, and wash it out with sandish style paper or material. You may need to remove the top lid, (4 screws), if you have alan key.
You to be carefull not to get wet the rest of the tool, because the insulation around the bowl must not get wet.

@@instantvap5808 Thanks. I have managed to open and clean the device yesterday. I will show you picture what it looked like on the inside (just for the information) :) I don`t know what i`ll do now. In Slovenia in ecological beekeping we are required by law to use Apibioxal. I need to perform some tests to see how fast it clogs ups. If i remember correctly i did about 20 treatments before it started having issues. Maybe i`ll buy another device, so i can do my whole yard and then clean them thorougly. Thank you for your help i need to start nagging to our government now to approve some different kind of oxalic acid :D
