To anyone who didn't understand what happened to William, basically, the springlocks may take on the animatronic mode and the jacket mode that allows a person to wear them. It is the mode of a jacket. If the gears open, due to the rain and William’s stress, the gears close, which leads to William’s death inside the springlock.

Most is correct but one minor mistake. Inside the suit are all the animatronic parts, to be able to wear it like a costume, you will have to get all of those parts out of the way using springlocks. The springlocks gets the parts out of the way and locks the animatronic parts using well springs.Making it so a human can go inside. But those spring locks can let loose of the animatronic parts and make them snap back into place because of water or sudden movements. Now many people think that it’s the spring locks that kills you. But it is actually the animatronic parts snapping back into place that kills you.

I agree, that scream is really convincing, but inaccurate to how he died. If you think about it, the spring locks in the suit would actually impale your vocal cords, making it impossible to scream.

A large chunk of the fanbase is kids and they can’t make it too scary. Otherwise parents wouldn’t let them see.

Obviously this was way more fucked up and gruesome than the movie but the movie was more realistic and I like that William decided to embrace his death when he put his helmet on rather than being scared. Hot take but I sorta prefer the movie over this.

They were unable to go all out with the springlock scene because the movie was PG-13, but it was a bit realistic and we saw some of the springlocks' mechanisms while William suffered. The springlock scene was underwhelming, but it's better than nothing. I'm glad they even added it

That’s what I’m saying, like.. realistically you wouldn’t be able to scream your lungs out like this.. and the audio is fan made. People just had expectations developed from something that wasn’t official to begin with.
Then they shouldn't even show his death to begin with, this is supposed to be an horror movie and the only horrifying thing about is how lame the death scenes are, also most of the fans are adults.

@@teamdescent1504 yeah i know how it works. that’s not my point. it’s that the whole final showdown was barely lead into, it kinda just happened. it was so sudden that it removes the whole suspense to it. i mean obviously there’d realistically be less blood and little to no screaming, but i would’ve liked it to be ya know.. more scary and unsettling with better lead up

for anyone who doesn't understand, basically when the suit was made they used springlocks.
springlocks set off everytime any amount of water or condensation touches them. when william entered the suit, he was either sweating or the room wasn't at the enabled temperature so it caused the springlocks to intertwine with his body.
Whats the purpose of the springlocks tho?
basically this old suit was designed to be an animatronic suit and a suit that humans could be inside of
the springlocks were there so that you could crank the metal insides of the suit back, allowing a human to fit inside of the suit effectively
these springlocks are activated via moisture, such as sweat, or in william's case, the condensation from his breath while he was laughing
The springlocks are there so they can fit a endo in ther and a person if needed

I don't know how Scott came up with that Springlock suit idea, but it was a stroke of genius storytelling to me.
I mean some theories always wanted the player to be the killer, or the phone guy, or Freddy, an unseen boss.
But introducing a mysterious Purple man and having him possess a new animatronic that also killed him in a gruesome way was a masterful idea.
Scott proved he was not a One hit Wonder, but could in fact deliver great storytelling with a good game.
If Springlocks weren’t deadly, then it would be a big advancement to Halloween!!!
