great vid. you definitely can use a circular saw to cut tubes just put some gaffer tape around the tube where you want to cut and then use the saw and you won't have much if any fringing. Looking forward to more vids!

I have the same problem as you - a limited size for the backdrop in my office and as you say the paper backdrops are often too long.
So I was unrolling them and then cutting it with scissors. But that is very slow, and you need a lot of space and someone to help you. Your saw idea got me fired up into looking for alternatives.

Hmm not sure on that one - should do, but could always get a lower swg tube, which will be thicker / stronger

Hey Ryan - great question! - It's quite tricky, I had to use a Mitre saw in the end.. but it's tricky because if the blade is too small, you have to swivel it round. And it's not a great finish ! - but it's ok.
Okay where did you purchase 3 aluminum poles from. I can only find 1
ashae johnson if you’re in the UK.. use themetal store.co.uk ! They have literally everything metal, and you can ask for it to be cut to a certain length..
Yes so what sort of saw would you recommend for a non professional carpenter?
Something with a finer blade like a large hack saw is probably your best bet. There are also sites that do cut to size rolls.

Do they make smaller sizes?
Yeah they do do a 135cm length too, but this was too small for me. So I bought a longer one, then cut it down...
