- Portland - Welcome to Maine’s largest city, extending out from the peninsula into Casco Bay. Follow our journey through Portland to see the city’s top spots to explore.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Portland: www.expedia.com/Portland.d181...
#Portland is renowned for its many nearby outdoor adventures, its large downtown arts district and vibrant food scene. Part of Portland’s great charm is also its working waterfront. Your #vacation may begin by exploring Commercial Street and the many wharves and piers.
#Tour the ornate rooms of Victoria Mansion and visit the historic home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, one of America’s most beloved poets. #Visit the Portland Museum of Art. Many of the artists whose works feature here were inspired by Portland’s coastline, including one of the giants of American Art, Winslow Homer.
Peer through the gun ports of Historic Fort Preble in South Portland. #Explore Spring Point Ledge Light, one of the smaller of Maine’s 57 active lighthouses; on Cape Elizabeth, stands one of New England’s most beautiful, Portland Head Light.
Portland is a wonderful city by the sea with great day trip opportunities to nearby Scarborough, Saco, Cape Porpoise and Kennebunkport.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Am a Texan and glad that my wife is from Maine. I fell in love with Maine as much as I fell in love with my girl ❤
I'm from Croatia/Europe and last year I visited Portland Maine. Have a friend there, in South Portland. I'm in love with that city. Food is excelent, people so nice, craft beers, nice beach, nature... just beautiful. I hope next year will come again and take a beer in Irish Pub Ri Ra, take dosens of donuts in Holy Donut... :-)
I'm so glad you fell on love with the greatest city on Earth, Portland!! When you return (as long as it's not in the winter) take your treats from Holy Donut and take it to the garden behind the Longfellow House on Congress Street. Tourists and even most locals don't know this place exists and it's very special. If you need suggestions on restaurants let me know. We have more restaurants per capita than any other American city.
Portland is a shit hole that needs to be cut out and sent sailing

Portland, ME is that city which never ceases to lift up my spirits every time I am there, regardless of the time of the year. Portland is a joy to my soul. I know where I will be retiring one day, by this melodious song by the sea :-)
Pretty darn accurate. Portland as well has amazing restaurants, craft breweries, and is surrounded by sweet small cottage speckled islands.
Bravo! The BEST representation of Portland and the surrounding towns I've EVER seen. This made me wanna walk around the Old Port and drive down the coast myself and I've lived in Portland all my life hahaha.
A big welcome back to all our subscribers! We’re kicking off 2018 with a visit to one of our favorite cities: Portland, Maine. Small in stature, but big on history, heart and hip, East Coast Portland gives its West Coast cousin a real run for its money when it comes to vacationing cool.

I immigrated to the USA this year in Orlando, Florida. Americans are the most kind hearted , generous people . Most of them were authentic and helpful.Long live America.
Glad you like it!
Ahhh this literally shows my house 😂😭 Thank you Expedia, this is a great video of my hometown ❤️
We always love to hear from locals! Thank you for the kind words. Are there any hidden spots we missed out on?
Old Orchard Beach. The best beach tourist spot like ever. So much fun.
You so likely bro.. it's nice pleace to visit.. are all seasons looks like in Maine?
home 3434 maine is not that great
💔💔💔missing my home state..
Maine is so beautiful in the Fall! Best time to visit.
I think the best time to visit is during winter
No. Spring.
Summer it is
No way! Summer is the 2nd worst season, next to winter.
I'll be visiting fall of 2020 to canvass for Senator Susan Collin's Democratic opponent. Until then I'll be boycotting Maine and Maine products...especially LL Beane. The Beane family supports Trump. No more Beane products for me.
Just idyllic.....God Bless America from the UK
Been there.. certainly a beautiful city😁
How refreshing to see a travel video that is professionally produced. Beautiful!
I wish I appreciated the area more when I went here as family vacations years ago. It truly does have so much beauty
Definitely beautiful. Thank you Expedia.
Maine is definitely one the most beautiful places in the world. If you like coffee and bake goods come to the head table café in Wells, Maine.
I’m going to visit soon I’ll come to head table
Wow splendid Portland, perfect travel guide!!!
Going there this summer! Can't wait, I've been wanting to go for so long!
Maine is so beautiful. I’m from N.M. And the only thing food here is green chili and the sunsets that’s it. I want to go to Maine someday😭

Wish u good luck!
It is expensive but if you have the money, go for it
Thank you Expedia, for giving such valuable information.
Lol as a teen we'd catch the bus home from Portland High in front of Longfellows house. People would go into the gate and we'd seriously say "Oh, Longfellow isn't home." It was so funny how many would say "Oh, Thank You" and start to leave. Fun it was.
Live here. This episode does excellent job representing all the area offers. Just visit in Summer😊 Now I can view their other locations with confidence.
We love our city of Portland, after travelling out west and down south I can honestly say "there's no place like home ", LOL. It's a great little city to raise children in...not so much now as 30yrs ago but still pretty ame compared to most states
Yeah, fantastic!!

A truly American city of culture. Hard to come by them these days.

Amazingly beautiful expedia :)
Its beutiful I just went
There's so much more than Portland!
Greetings from Portland Oregon
Hope it's quieting down out there now
Was stationed in Brunswick, ME which is 28 miles or so up the coast. I really liked the brief time I was there.
How is brunswick?
@@autumn_b905 Sorry for the late reply, it's a rather nice town ~20k people, it's home to Bowdoin College and not too far from Booth Bay Harbor which I found to be a very nice area of Maine. If you're into craft beer, there is a brewery on the former base in the old shooting range called Flight Deck Brewing.
@@ELGlueckert thanks for this info
Hope to travel in Maine someday. from Russia
Visit Portland and the Rockland area for the great restaurants. Visit the coast for the scenery. Stay away from extreme southern Maine as it is a tourist trap. The town of Old Orchard Beach has the best beach. Don’t ask for directions because Mainers will give you wrong directions most of the time. Maine is very safe but don’t pull u turns in driveways. We hate that almost as much as giving directions.
@@chrisedward7575 Thank you for great advice, my friend!
Awsome! I love Expedia! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee make a video about Tbilisi, georgia!
Proud to say that not only am from the great state of maine but i'm from the town of Portland.
I would have included the observatory in Portland. Great views of all around.
Portland,Maine is a special gift for the all american people.
, I lov portland. So much to due Great restaurants and shops. Many brewerys. 😘💜
Che spettacolo!
I love the United States, I've been lucky enough to visit 13 different States, both East and west coasts, I especially like the vastness of the country, manhatten, Las Vegas, and death Valley, nothing in the UK like them.
Worderfull place!
Maine is a beautiful state❤❤❤❤❤
it is so beautiful.
Californian here. Just checking out Maine. Looks cool.
I live right near portland awesome city!!
How are the beaches around there?!
Jenna Farra depending on where you want to go. Beaches like Reid state park are more rocky and beaches like old orchard or popham are nice and sandy!
You all must be rich. How can you afford to live there?
Yes, but what about the winters?
@@autumn_b905 wtf
This is a really nice video of Portland. I didn't expect Expedia to do this city. I live 2 hours away from Portland and it's really a wonderful place to visit.
Expedia... have you thought about doing a video for San Juan?
I was just visiting there a couple weeks ago and I really think San Juan and the people of Puerto Rico deserve to be recognized and have an Expedia video so that more tourists go there because they need tourists badly
Two-hour place beautiful
this is beatiful
Yesss!!
Much better than Portland, OR! 😊
Immortal 86 by miles and miles
Nope
Any place is better than Portland, OR.
I agree
Nope..not even close..... Portland OR & Seattle>>>> all other cities
My future home town!

Can't argue with any of that!
Great content as always , can’t believe 5 people didn’t like it ? Bizarre !
We will move here in 2 years. Such a nice beautiful place. Can't wait.👍🏼🏡
Maine great state. Just keep in mind housing very expensive in Portland.. .not sure where you are from. If Boston NY or DC guess you wouldn't call it expensive!
Visiting next weekend. Looks nice.
Moving there in 6 weeks. I watch this video a lot.

@@urmom1.050 really? intersteing to know ! still nice place to visit. Massive Europe vibes from it !
@@urmom1.050So where are the 'ghettoes'? A few blocks here and there on the peninsula like most cities have. Not an accurate description at all

I went there last year! I'm from Oregon and let me tell you, I soo much prefer Portland Maine more than Portland Oregon :)
Wish I stayed longer at Portland so I can enjoy more of it
