    Totally enjoyed this , I've had 17 boats of every type , had an Avon Searider , what a boat , incredible sea handling and ride .
    All the best in your future cruises , will be watching.

    Hah. Stumbled across this. My first thought was "Oh, look there's my old boat, Blue Ice, with her previous owner John". Followed by hangon, that's me. Had forgotten that this trip was filmed.

    The figurehead museum is all the warning you’d ever need but aren’t these boat’s remarkable in what they can survive. Great trip, thanks for sharing.

    Cool video. I've always wanted to RIB to the Scilly Isles, thinking of going next summer, 2022. This was a really useful video.

    GPS became more accurate in 2000. So this must have been filmed then. The trip around the UK (another video) was in 2001.

    When was this first filmed?
    Did he really say at 1:10 “you can pick a rib up for a few hundred pounds”........
    This is like watching blokes exploring in Mark II Cortinas.

    If you buy a rib that has to rely on bilge pumps to clear deck water you are in trouble. Elephant trunk bailers can clear the decks in moments, Ocean Dynamics, Delta, Halmatic (BAE), will build open transom craft. Handrails breaking off is poor build quality. Adults out on ribs without lifejackets sets a very poor example, I'm also pretty sure there were some killcords not being used.

    • @fastasfox
      @fastasfox Před 3 lety

      I will take you down to ANY Cornish harbour and let you speak to a few local fishermen about wearing life vest all the time.

    • @paulmahy
      @paulmahy Před 3 lety

      @@fastasfox I've worked on fishing boats and increasingly they are being used. fact of the matter is, if you are arguing against the use of lifejackets you are a dick.

    • @fastasfox
      @fastasfox Před 3 lety

      @@paulmahy why call me a dick? I don't believe I called anyone a rude name. You have the wrong end of the stick....I 100% believe in life jackets...but you don't see too many solo Cornish fishermen wearing them....or kill cords for that matter. But bottom line it's down to the person and their own risk aversion....not quite a nanny liberal state just yet ya know 😉
