Clomid has an excellent chance of working for you but if often takes several cycles. Try to hang in there and be patient. Keep your mind on the goal, that will make the side effects easier to tolerate.

I came off of BCP and had a 57 day cycle. Now I am on CD52 again. I always had irregular, long cycles before BCP. I have had blood work done in the past to check hormones & my thyroid. Everything was normal. Although my lh was slightly high, but within normal range. I could not have been ovulating as I was on BCP. Interesting the OPK tests that I took a few months ago were always negative. My doctor talked to me about PCOS but said I show none of the classic outward signs. I'm not overweight, no abnormal hair loss/growth, no acne, periods are always 5 days starting out light then heavy the light, etc. What should I do? I'm extremely afraid that I am infertile.
I have had patients get pregnant on there own with long cycles such as yours. You will most likely become pregnant doing nothing more than having regular intercourse, it just may take a bit longer than average. That being said, Clomid may be a reasonable option if for no other reason than to be able to time your fertile days and prove you are ovulating.

This is only your fourth month off of birth control pills. It can take many women up to a year to get pregnant. That being said, if you want to be more aggressive, using provera to regulate your cycles and Clomid to help with ovulation would be another reasonable approach.
