There’s also the cleric from Toy Story that time forgot, there was an entire franchise of toys called battlesaurs who didn’t even know that they only existed as toys and nothing more. Their kid mason was stuck in the other room playing video games, because of this they had a similar delusion as buzz from the first movie, They had a cult like world of their own until reptillus turned off mason’s video game and let himself be played with.
There are a lot of disturbing questions raised by the idea of sentient toys.
Personally, I think that the three eyed aliens is an ascension cult.

This analysis should be compulsory viewing for anyone who says you can’t critique certain movies because they are “a kids film about space wizards” (and/or other incoherent defenses of terrible films). This trilogy of “kids movies” has so many layers
I always interpreted that the toys in toy story would gain a personality based on what they were created for, and what they are meant to be. Many of the toys in toy story take on the the role of being played with by kids as that is what they were created for. the three eyed aliens in the claw machine were created to be claw machine toys, so take on the persona of waiting to be selected by the claw, after all, wouldn't it be odd if the toys created to be placed into a claw machine started trying to escape the claw machine, and how it makes sense that they would try to stop Woody for breaking the rules of the machines creation, which is that its intended you get one toy at a time.
If you notice you've been comparing Lotso to Satan then if you've ever read the Bible and know about the battle of Armageddon then you will know that God wins and chain Satan to hell for eternity and Lotso is tied to the grill of a truck that's sort of the same thing but you said it was like the Lord of the Flies no it's more like the end of the battle of Armageddon.
those designs on the plates at 15:10 strongly resemble astrological glyphs, such as the one directly left of woody being an almost deadon Mercury glyph, the horseshoe at 7 oclock looks basically identical to the glyph for the nodes of the moon. not to disparage astrology but by creating nods to Spacey/occult symbolism that also echo a lot of cult symbols amd mythology like heavens gate etc, perhaps this was another nod from the creators that this is the direction they were trying to subtly alude to. quite interesting amd i think helps validate your theory
Im really just happy that the people behind toy story took the movie so seriously, and sincerley. Like the fact that much of thought behind it was very purposeful means something. I feel like a modern animated movie would play off Jessies truama for jokes or a quick one off moment that didnt connect to the themes of the story.
Man, what started as a joke video turned out to be one of the best movie analyses I've seen. Hope that the Snowpiercer video won't be your most viewed video forever (since you have lots of wonderful ideas and an interesting angle) and you'll eventually find your audience. Big up!

I've noticed that cults hang on to people who are emotionally vulnerable; a very rational person would just leave but some people FEEL like they can't. I'm not the type of person to get sucked in a toxic cult but I feel bad for those who are.

A lot of it is about accepting the role you've been given. Woody's profession of faith in the beginning, is that whether or not he gets played with, his only job as a toy is to be there for Andy. But he says this when things are easy, when he's the favorite toy. The rest of the movie and sequels are tests of faith, where we see if he can live up to his own words. Can he stick to this principle, and accept this identity, when things are hard and his world is shaken? At first he falters, but over time matures, and we know he really will be there for his kid, no matter what.
When you compared the clouds in Andy's room to the clouds at the end of toy story 3, it blew my mind.

Great video. Definitely a new way to look at the toy story franchise. I will never be able to see it another way. One thing though. What about the part where the toys rise up against one of the Gods? Where Woody tells Sid to play nice.
Sid is almost like a demon in that analogy, and it was brave of Woody to stand up to him especially since they have a golden rule that they're not supposed to talk.

I had a brief moment of thinking the trash can scene was a reference to The Ring, but it didn't come out until 3 years later. Mayyyybe the writers saw/read Ringu (the notion of sending the toys to Japan opens this possibility a little) but I doubt it. Still, neat parallel.
