Loved your review! I just finished purchasing my camp chef grill. And a cast iron plate for burgers/steaks I’m excited to use it. I also liked that you put the foil down under the grate to catch all the grease! Thanks for the review! Also greetings from LA ! 🤘🏾

Hi Linda.. thank you for all the information and wonderful cooking, gardening etc that you give us! I didn't take the time to read the other comments, but if you use a bungee cord across the towel secured from each side.. it should stop it from unraveling and dealing with unclamping and clamping each time. We have one of these camp chef stoves we use for custom mobile concessions.. one of my favorite pieces we have :)

I saw a woman talk about her Camp Chef Oven a couple of years ago. Following a tornado that knocked out their power for several days, she said it was the best thing she ever did for her survival tools. I have tried twice to order one from Amazon and both times, they arrived broken. Our next one will happen when we drive a couple of hours to shop for one at Cabella's or Bass Pro. The idea of being able to bake fascinates me. Thank you for your review of the stove. Another temptation for me to look into!! ;-)

I remember those kerosene colemans. We had one to that I got rid of years ago. Although I probably could of fixed it and sourced out gaskets. We have an old kerosene lantern in the workshop to that has not been used in years. But I also have a propane lantern and candle lanterns, etc. Love that stove Linda. I like how you can configure it yourself to your needs. Will have to look into one of those when my 3 burner propane BBQ dies. We purchased an attachment last year to enable propane lantern to be hooked up to bigger tank and run from the same tank BBQ is hooked up to. But that is only good for the back porch. LOL. We have camping stove that is a slim line 2 burner that can run on small bottles propane, the stove tech and of course cooking on an open fire.

Linda - I like the idea of lining the grease catch below the grill box. How well does that work? It seems other reviews say that the grease will drip onto the burners. Additionally, if you squeeze your paper towel roll flat it will prevent it from unrolling.

You so should have gotten the 3 burner Big Gas Grill. Its awesome, it comes with a grill box that covers 2 of the burners. I have added the 2 burner griddle to mine. Makes breakfast for an army easy. Camp Chef stoves are the most versatile cookers that i have come across.

As usual, great review. Been looking for something like this for our remote location. It's only about 20 miles out but we have seen repeatedly that there is no good way to secure anything worth having. To have something this substantial and versatile while at the same time being relatively mobile will be a big plus.
And, my vote is "yes" on the camping tips

Hello Linda, thanks for the video! Am taking my first camping trip next month and have purchased the 2 burner camp chef stove. Definitely will be purchasing griddle but am not sure about purchasing the grill box. I am most curious about what you have cooked on it. Are flare ups common? Like your foil idea btw. Ever made chicken on it? Want to grill some wings but am worried about flare ups charring my food outside and not cooking it inside. All of your equipment looks great and I can tell you take good care of it. Best, M.N

so it does work with the wind screen installed? a lot of reviews state that they must remove the wind screen in order to use the hinged BBQ box where as they do not have to for the unhinged BBQ box, can you confirm?

I know this is an older post from you, but I have a question about canning outside. I just called Presto, All American, and Camp Chef, and all of them stated that I could ONLY pressure can outside if the outdoor stove doesn't go over 12,000 BTU. They all stated that it would warp the canner or blow the safety valve. Have you / Do you know a way around this?

OK Linda, you peaked my interest here. I have been looking for something to BBQ/Grill on for emergencies HOWEVER it HAS to be able to hold my All American so I can pressure can in case I have to. Is this strong enough to hold our pressure canner? The "grills" we have been looking at just dont seem to be cutting the bill for me. Great for grillin up a burger, but I am thinking more long term emergency backup.

Looks great. Here in TX they've had similar products for a while. With a ton of extras. I wonder if one could use this as an in-door stove for say a cabin?
    Another great vid....Thanks

    • @tkendr01
      @tkendr01 Před 6 lety

NOT SUITABLE FOR USE INDOORS. The stove requires 10 feet clearance on all sides even when used outdoors. A 3-burner Camp Chef can generate as much as 90,000 BTU (60,000 for a 2-burner). When the burners are covered with a griddle or grill box, most of the stovetop is fully covered; the heat comes out horizontally. For a 90,000 BTU gas stove, the vent hood must handle at least 900 CFM. That's enough vent hood capacity for TWO ordinary kitchen stoves. If the "cabin" is 2500-3500 square feet, then 90,000 BTU is about right to heat the entire cabin with gas heat. A 3-burner Camp Chef can produce as much heat as 3 kitchen stoves - it really is that efficient.
A better setup would be a garage with a tall ceiling and a door that can fully open to outdoors. Think about it like turkey frying, fish cooking, crab boils, etc. The stove must not be operated unattended - things like food (and careless people) can burn in just a couple of minutes.

I am so sorry to have put a thumbs down in the canning comments...I misread the symbol! I was looking to comment...
I love your videos and I was interested in the TEMPERATURE SETTING you use with your All American canner on your Camp Chef.
I just purchased the three burner Tahoe stove. I have not used it yet...life got in the way and now I am not sure how late in the season one might can outside. The weather here on October 1/2020 is approx 54 to 59 degrees F (14 to 16C) for the next couple of weeks if that helps.
I would like to find out as much as I can on using this stove safely for canning with my All American canner 321. I am new to the whole process altogether.
My stove indoors is glass top hence the propane... I plan to do some canning later this Fall and winter indoors with my daughter who has a gas stove.
Any information you could provide regarding the BURNER SETTINGS on these types of camp type propane stoves or any other tips as to the best best weather- how cold is the limit to safely can outside without the risk of damaging your canner or braking your jars would be greatly appreciated. BTUS and PSIs seem to play an important role which needs to be understood before going the ´turkey fryer’ route.
A short video on that would help many people like me to not learn by mistakes that could be very discouraging and very costly.
Thank you for whatever you can share that would help. I am really looking forward to using my canner on the propane stove.
