    I appreciate the tutelage. Simple, seemingly complete. And without stretching it out so as to induce "viewer coma!" Thank you.

    Holy Shit!
    That's the biggest cam shaft I have ever seen!
    My hands were twitching as you two expertly installed it and I'm glad no fingers appeared to have been pinched during the install.
    Thanks for sharing and as always keep building👍

      @@TerraFirmaX You don't have to thank me Brother!
      What you're doing and what your able to accomplish on your homestead is mind blowing, most videos show an advanced indoor facility with engineers and machines to do all the heavy lifting and you and your friends can still pull off this work with your hands and some blood and sweat and tears.
      I'm a hands on person and can really appreciate what your doing!

      @@ToddLarsen Well, I still thank you. So many negative comments on this on Facebook. I feel the same way you do, hands on and work with what you got. It would be nice to have all that advanced equipment. But I believe in just getting it done in the best way you know how. It would be easier with all that stuff, but I don't have that option. By the way, I get more positive feedback than negative, so I must be on to something right?

    Looks like you're doing a good job. We use reground cams in our old cats and have had good luck with them. Check your rocker arm rollers for excessive roller to pin play and or drag when you push on them towards the pin (as the cam would push on them) and rotate them. Many times the failed cam starts with a roller "skidding" or not turning due to the wear in the rollers pin. Cummins released new rocker arm pins in any rocker arms you buy now. The new style pins are branded "diamond Like" and seem to make the skidding issue go away.
    If you cleaned (soaked)your rocker arms in solvent soak them in warm oil a few days to get lube back on that pin to roller joint. If you installed new pins your good to go.
    Personally I think running a viscosity helper once the engine is broken in ( after first oil change) is a good idea. I don't mention brand names but we all have our favorites. I just found this video so I have no history on your build. Im glad to see you wearing sweatshirts i was told Arizona is just HOT. When I retire i want to move to the mid west.

    Seeing as you have a 2012 have you ever had any work done or replaced the high pressure fuel pump? There was a tsb for it many years ago i believe, but the fuel pump has ceramic plungers that will eventually fail and will send shrapnel into the engine and can cause severe or catastrophic damage. Just had one come apart on a 12 isx where i work. Might be something to look into while its apart.
    Other then that youre doing awesome work! Keep up the great progress!

    I'm thinking a about ordering an Inframe kit from them but I hear their parts are bad quality. Have you had any trouble since your rebuild and how many miles you got on it?

    • @TerraFirmaX
      @TerraFirmaX  Před 3 lety

      No problems whatsoever with 80,000 on the inframe. There is nothing wrong with these aftermarket parts. When you hear people say they are bad ask yourself this, how does a company like PAI stay in business all these years if they made bad parts. Plus when people say "Cummins only" isn't that what failed in the first place?
      Hope this helps

    • @demi3613
      @demi3613 Před 3 lety

      @@TerraFirmaX Thanks for the reply. Do you know anyone else that has bought a rebuild kit from them? I can order basically everything for the engine for $10,400 and that is "almost everything!" When Cummins shop estimated me for $48,000 for parts and labor with less parts. I just hope I can find a good mechanic that could do the labor.

My truck is international 2005. Engine is really strong. I didnt feel i should be in shop. Now, is it worth to do all this work? Truck has 1.2 mil. Should i inframe it too?
