okay barbie and Bella are about the same price but with Barbie you get a pig but with bella you get a stand, hangers, and an extra outfit. MGA is taking all my money lately.
I just got Bella for Christmas I’m in love with her lol I love how she has the same first and last name as me and I love her outfits very very good quality and lots of detail

I have mostly been a collector of Barbie for most of my life, and I appreciate the efforts made with these new Extra dolls...the Rainbow High and LOL OMG dolls still stand out, personally. Both these dolls cost about the same price, yet Belle here comes with high quality nylon hair, rooted eye lashes, TWO complete high quality outfits, including shoes and socks/stockings. As a collector, Rainbow High just stands out in terms of what you get from the amount you pay. I'd still like to find and get these new Extra dolls for sure, as I appreciate a good fashion doll. It's just crazy how Mattel fell behind so much in the doll market that MGA shook things up to make them show effort again. Growing up its weird to think about how Mattel dominated the doll market but now I think MGA has taken over in terms of cost with quantity and quality and even presentation! I still love Barbie, but I feel like MGA is giving us collectors what we've wanted for a long time.

@@leviichuu711 These dolls are targeted towards children. That is the actual market dolls are trying to reach. It's cool that more adults are showing interest in mass produced toys for kids, but there is such a thing as adult collector dolls, like Integrity Toys. Mattel is a business, they are trying to appeal to kids, while not upsetting the parents who actually pay for the doll, but aren't collector's themselves.

Rainbow high doesn't have rooted lashes, the row of lashes is actually glued into a crevice of the acrylic eye

I chose Bella because I’m here for the monochrome pastel fashion! I had rinsed/brushed out the gel from my Bella doll with warm water, and air dried her hair (rested it on a towel) and it turned out beautifully. She is just a beautiful doll with such a happy color ☺️🐷🐽🌸🩰🎀💕

Mattel needs to bring back their original fashionistas with the high quality clothing, articulation, stunning face makeup, and their distinct look. Nowadays Barbies look the same. There is no distinct look to them. It’s sad how much they have gone down hill and turned so cheap.

It’s funny though that the older dolls really did look exactly the same cause most were blonde and had similar facial molds. We need for current fashionistas to keep the diversity but bring back the quality of the 2009-2013 fashionista dolls cause those were AMAZING quality
I feel like Barbie tried her best, but ended up lost in the isles of Justice. Rainbow High seems like very modern outfits you’d go to the mall and see, while Barbie upped the quality, she looks like an “extra” mess. If they’re trying to target the younger AND older audiences they really need some better inspiration

Yeah its NOT everyday fashion we get it. However looking at RH and LOL OMG dolls, their clothes even look extra and WELL MADE. Remove the details from MGA dolls and it will look like it’s from Mattel. With that price point, everything on RH AND LOL omg is on point: packaging, well made and quality fashions, articulation, quality face paints, etc. With Barbie Extra Its just “luke warm”. I lover Barbie... I wish she steps up her game quality wise because MGA is PROOF that collectors get what we paid for.

honestly they still come off as awfully childish, there’s a few elements that they could change on the dolls that would make them appealing to all ages.

The aesthetic Barbie currently has just is not working, they want to make barbie as “realistic” as possible and I think it doesn’t translate well on doll scale. Stylized dolls like LOL OMG and Rainbow High are doing way better and are just more fun to look at than the boring Barbie we have now.

I literally asked for Bella for Christmas, but I feel so tempted to doll hunt for her because my mom orders gifts last second sometimes and I'm scared of Bella selling out. And I don't think that the Barbie Extra dolls are copying LOL OMG because they come with pets rather than extra accessories. The inclusion of pets that match the dolls is definitely a Mattel thing. And their fashions are a great improvement other modern Barbie clothes, so I'm glad to see Mattel stepping up their quality with the Barbie Extra line.

If mattel wants to get into the same market as rainbow high and omg dolls, why don’t they bring back MyScene or FLAVAS dolls? The extras are cute but they remind me more of those deluxe fashionistas doll sets where the heads could be swapped and even then, those dolls did more than the extras now that i think back on it.... don’t get me wrong, they are cute but.... they seem a bit disappointing compared to their older fashion doll lines....

Barbie brand has not been good for quite awhile now .. 😬 And I love barbie but the vintage ones are definitely higher quality and more thought out compared to the newer ones.

We needed this Barbie Extra and Bella Parker comparison! I do hope other doll youtubers do this as well. MGA’s playline dolls even since bratz era until now, are very consistent with current fashion and QUALITY; their playline dolls are collector quality than expensive barbie collector dolls with cheap fabric and bland looking. Everything on Bella Parker or RH was on point-you get what you paid for. With Barbie Extra, your just paying for that “look” and Mattel’s “catching up”.

Rainbow high dolls are so PRETTY. And in this new style of doll I'm actually jealous I didn't grow up with these style dolls. I grew up with barbie and when I got into middle school Bratz were a thing, by then my parents didn't want to buy me dolls 🤣
I’m about the same age range. I would have totally loved these RH dolls as a kid.
I had 1 My Scene doll, never got into Bratz, even though I think they came out when I was about ten and still could have played with them.
I'm partially blind, and actually think the bigger heads on RH dolls work really well! Plus, I can better see the makeup and eye colors on my niece's RH dolls! 😄 I might snag one of two favorites for myself!

I’m 27 and I wanted a my scene too but I never got too many dolls unless they were my cousins or someone outside the home got them for me :) I got my daughter 2 RH dolls this Christmas and I can NOT wait for her to see. She is autistic and she really loves how each doll has a color. She will normally color coordinate their clothes so this like makes her so happy that they are already made that way

I think you'll be glad you got them for your daughter. My niece just got an influx of about 5 for her recent birthday, and I'm blown away. The hair is especially great, particularly in her one Series 3, who has no product in it at all! It's also nice the clothes actually FEEL like clothes, mostly ... not cheap plastic/flimsy cloth in the FORM of clothes.

When i opened barbie extra #3 the coat shed, and Mattel needs more quality control with the hair, not just this doll like every barbie doll I've gotten recently, sometimes it looks hacked, or there'll be some really long strands of hair that i gotta cut off. And the pig unicorn fell off too much to be useful or practical. And the barbie necklace falls off all the time too, but otherwise i think she looks gorgeous. I ordered both pink RH dolls and I can't wait.

I'm 35, been a doll collector all my life , I can honestly say I havent even stopped to look at barbies in 4 or 5 years because as a brand they seem burned out. I did like when they introduced new body types, being plus sized this was awesome! But Barbie has been everything and I think the brand is just stale compared to MGA dolls. MGA has interesting body types, beautiful makeup, and high quality clothes that makes collectors of all ages squeal

Oh my goodness, I just had this exact dilemma with the xmas money I got early! I went with Barbie Extra 3 because Bella doesn’t seem to be available yet here, plus I love how BE3 reminds me of the old style of the singer Poppy, but I reeeeally want Bella too

I am glad now that I haven't got into Rainbow High now, I fear that the amount of dolls coming out is too much. If there was a line of dolls maybe with just the outfit the doll is wearing and that's it. I know lots of people will hate me for throwing shade on RH but I don't collect Barbie either, I have MH, EAH dolls and Wild's Heart Crew. My main love was my pedigree Sindy dolls (I live in the UK so Sindy was my doll of childhood) the majority of which I rerooted and made different outfits to set them in different scenes. I don't collect every doll that comes out, I don't blame those that do nor do I want every doll anyway. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

No offense to the barbie styling staff but I think they should look at what's trending for kids/teens now, because MGA's doll clothes are more modern and in the know of fashion trends that are on instagram and tiktok, where as the clothes for the barbie extra line looks like what would be trending in 2015. I was planning on putting my Bella in the same outfit but I really liked the pink jacket with Avery's lavender skirt, the "dont call me doll" t-shirt, the patterned tights, and the purple moon+star heels which looks great in my opinion. Bella's dress looks like something not even my grandmother would wear lmao but the 1st outfit is giving me Chanel vibes from Scream Queens

I'm pretty brand loyal, and I really like Mattel and Barbie, but I think I have to go with Rainbow High on this one. That's the one I'd spend my $26.99 on in this case anyway. You just get higher quality and more all together. And we don't need any more pets with our Barbies...

Oh I totally didn’t mean any heat on this line. I am so happy that Barbie is doing something cool like this. And I want them to keep doing it. I just wish there were more of a price difference between the two lines, because that’s what’s going to cause people to make the choice. And because of that people aren’t going to buy Barbie. And that hurts me. I think they’re two completely different dolls, and not everyone likes the size and scale Of the rainbow high dolls. Some people are just really traditional Barbie collectors and they would really love to have dolls with this kind of quality of clothing and forward-looking fashions. But if this line doesn’t succeed, we won’t get that. So I think they should lower the price maybe to $21.

If series 2 is exclusive to Target, that's going to alienate a lot of people in more rural areas. The closest Target to me is two hours away, and with the rampant QC issues, I would rather pick up my doll in person. I'm not traveling two hours just for a doll. Sorry, but if MGA is going to do that, I'm out.

Unpopular opinion here: Rainbow High face (the same face time and time again) creeps me out despite all the clothes and praised style and stuff. Barbie Extra however, is the second Barbie with "Millie closed mouth" face mold thatI loved immediately (although I disliked this mold for a long time). MGA has huge fanbase and they don't need my money and I don't need things I dislike on my doll shelf. So Barbie Extra it is.

I just got my first Rainbow High doll, Bella Parker. I love the 60s and her dress reminds me of that, and now she looks like a 60s doll 🥰🥰 and I love her even more
I don't know much about (women's) fashion, but I feel like Mattel are sleeping on the hyped fashion trends. Like, even their BMR1959 dolls feature cool fits but it's nothing one would really see anybody wear.
With RH I can look at their fits and go instantly "yeah, I've seen this trending on Insta" or "I remember seeing similar fits advertised by H&M/Zara etc.". And the comparison to H&M and Zara isn't even that bad here because RH do kind of a similar thing as those stores do with High Fashion: mimicking it.
Generally, I feel like Mattel are out of touch with every aspect of what makes a doll a good doll. They intentionally slept on things they could've improved a long time ago and now they're half-heartedly trying to catch up, or just don't know how to do it.
Seeing your reaction to both of the dolls, I think I can say which one I would want!
A lot of people have been complaining about quality issues with the Rainbow High dolls, wonky eyes, frayed fabrics etc. I think that's important because the price point feels off. The Rainbow High dolls should be in the 30 to 34.99 $. So unless they have a way smaller profit margin than is normal with fashion dolls (which they could afford with what they're raking in with the small LOLs and OMGs), I think they're cutting corners somewhere. Most likely in production facilities. Of course most people shopping for kids will go for the doll that comes with the most stuff at the best price, and I don't think Mattel will be able to match it.

This Barbie's "Extra Extra like OMG" gotta be meant to compete with them. Barbie's done a playline with articulation and layered clothing before, Barbie Style, but that ended years ago. Competition's good because it forces Mattel to make better playline fashion dolls than the fashionistas. Extra is a little tacky IMO, while Rainbow High is more cohesively dressed with an additional outfit and useful accessories. I'd buy both for myself, but RH is definitely more for your money.
Mattel still dont realize it they need to hire young designers and not be afraid to take risks be edgy this is why mga is winning

I was debating on whether to get the Barbie extra dolls. Reason why is because they reminded me of lol dolls. So I didn’t know how to feel. Maybe this video will change my mind.
I like a few of them, but I feel like most are trying to hard and it just looks tacky

I recently got Skylar and I had to wash her hair out, I have yet to style it. I’m trying to find some nice inspo or how to recurl doll hair videos. I haven’t seen Bella at Walmart, I still have yet to go to Target yet so hopefully she’s there!
It feels like Mattel are trying to hard to keep Barbie relevant, instead of bringing back the Monster High and Ever After High doll lines.
Lol 😂 love the tweets, I'm always checking the time and forget and have to check again, and wondering what to do with all my doll boxes. lol 😂 I also take heaps of extra clothing and things when I got away on holidays or camping and don't need half the stuff I take lol 😂. The Barbie Extra dolls look cool and love the furry coats and her hair style and colour is cool and the unicorn pig is cute. Looking forward to getting series two of the Rainbow High dolls and cool there is a boy doll in the series. Bella is a beautiful doll her hair is amazing and has a pretty outfit and the diamond style earrings and pearls on her jacket and shoes are amazing. Washing there hair works well to remove the gel especially on Amaya and Skyler as they had heaps of gel in their hair. Looking forward to getting her. They are both beautiful dolls but think you get much more for your money with the Rainbow High dolls, and the outfit you put together looks awesome. Love your review 😍💖
I am a adult Barbie collector and I got the Extra Barbie No.3 for my birthday last night and I was so dissapointed because I was expecting more quality¡ the first problem was the bad quality hair. The hair looks as a used doll that has been combed too many times. It had pixel eyes and didn't have a stand..but a pig? I felt as if Mattel was laughing at me. I saw your video and I decided to get Bella Parker today¡ and I love her¡¡¡ the quality and all of those little details¡¡. It was funny because I didn't like big head dolls and now I Love them¡¡¡ thanks for your video.

Bella for me. Barbie looks like Regina George's mom in Mean Girls. Trying to hard to be young and hip. Rainbow High has become my doll of choice. I've packed all the Barbies away to make room to buy more! After finding Rainbow High, I feel like Barbie/Mattel has been cheating me all these years.
We really don't need pets with these mattel lol. rainbow high and barbie extra dolls are the same price but rainbow high you get an entire extra outfit but barbie gives you a pet? make it make sense! That being said the barbie extra dolls are really cute, did you see the next wave where one has blue curly hair and another has pastel rainbow braids? so pretty. I can't wait to find bella i love her chanel look. she'll be my first priority and maybe i'll get the barbies later if they go down in price.

Yay I love Bella. I ordered Doll 3 of Barbie Extra I’m excited she arrives Saturday I think from Walmart. I preordered number 4 I think on Amazon but hoping I can get her sooner I think her jacket has a real zipper like a couple Creatable World dolls got pieces of. Yes $24.99 is why I wouldn’t collect all 5 Barbie Extra. Can’t wait for more Series 2 RH I’m guessing it’ll be before Christmas. I actually only had to brush Bella’s hair but I do wash most others. Weird our earrings don’t fall out. I put Bella’s top on Sunny it goes great with her eyes.
